Unless you just want a BHAF under the hood or plan to add mods later on, the BHAF on a stock configuration truck is wasted money. The ECM is going to limit fuel at approx. 20 psi boost which is well within the capacity of the OEM air box and filter. The BHAF does look and sound pretty cool especially if the silencer ring is removed. Some like the noise, some don't. I left my ring in.

The OEM paper filters work great as long as they meet your need. In my case, I went to the BHAF out of necessity. The OEM filter and box just could not handle enough air with the Mach 1.6 injectors and Edge EZ combo. Just not enough surface area or box opening to flow enough air. They work great on the wife's truck.

The Outerware prefilter protective filter cover really make these filters last a lot longer due to how they catch a lot of material that would otherwise become embedded in the paper filter. When the engine gets shut off, the material just falls away from the prefilter cover. They are kinda like a hair net but much more finer in mesh.

I had a 110 gallon Dee Zee aluminum tank in my truck until one of the welds cracked while the tank was FULL and I was driving down the road. It was NO FUN jumping through my *** trying to stop the leaking fuel and find a container to transfer the 110 gallons of fuel into. Fortunately I had an 80 gallon fuel spill barrel. Aluminum is OK for some things but NOT for a truck bed transfer tank. The fuel and vapors in the tank continuously expand and contract with temperature changes and this causes the tank walls to flex which can be noted by a popping sound when a tank wall gets pushed outward or gets sucked inward from vaccum. With repeated contraction and expansion, the aluminum becomes embrittled and it is not a matter of if but when a weld will crack. At least in my opinion. Yes, the aluminum looks cool and reflects the sun's heat. Get the steel tank and avoid the eventual crack that will happen with aluminum. Unless the fuel tank is a welded perfect circle body with spun aluminum ends welded on like on the over the road truck tanks, aluminum is not a good choice for a fuel transfer tank that you intend to leave full for extended periods in the bed of your pickup. Just my worth from a bad experience. Also be aware the in many states if you carry more than (I believe) 99 gallon capacity tank in your truck you are required to get a DOT registration # for it. If you have the misfortune of crossing paths with a revenue parasite, truck hating cop, it could lead to a big fine.

According to the ATF products listed by Wally World, they do not sell a Super Tech ATF4 transmission oil but they do sell an ATF4 Chrysler acquired oil. http://msds.walmartstores.com/cache/287652.pdf This info. may be out of date or Wally World is repackaging this oil in their Super Tech containers through Warren Distribution who does blend and repackage oil for Walmart. ATF4 is particular to Chrysler transmissions. Here is some poop I came across on ATF4: http://www.allpar.com/mopar/transmissions/fluids.html Bottom line.....if Walmart has their Super Tech ATF4 on the shelf, use it. Chysler doesn't make oil and either does Wally World. It is someone elses oil repackaged.

So far, the best deals I have seen on synthetic diesel rated motor oil is when Wally World has the Shell 5W-40 synthetic on sale. Some other places you might check for a better price but this may mean buying a 55 gallon drum of oil are your local tractor dealer and petroleum distributor. I am not sure which particular oil you are looking at but it sounds like regular gas engine oil. Checking the label will tell you if it is rated for compression engines. Mike and for anyone else with batteries getting tired problems: I bought a CTEK US7000 12 volt Lead-Acid Battery Charger which also conditions the battery after it charges it up. http://www.ctek.com/EN-GB/MULTI-XS-7000.aspx?p=features http://www.ctek.com/EN-GB/MULTI-XS-7000.aspx?p=characteristics I put this on my OEM original truck batteries and it took the charge about 4 days to get through an entire full charge/reconditon cylce but it made a very noticable improvement in the battery starting power and I noticed the charge voltage on the electric system is a bit higher than before. I use this charger for my fence charger batteries as well as my truck and tractor batteries. Does a great job. It cost about $114. The prices seem to have come down a little on them since I bought mine. They run about $110 now.

Come to think of it, if your fuel basket is really hosed up, you may want to just replace it with one of these instead since you already have the Air Dog installed. Not sure exactly how much clearance you have between the tank top and the truck bed. The basket is about the same height as the tank, if you can open the tank up and lift the basket up out of the tank with out dropping the tank, go for it. I don't think this is going to be possible but your case may be different. In the event the tank is full of crud and pieces of junk like mine was, it is nice to have the tank removed with the basket out so you can turn it upside down and clean out the crap with compressed air and spray cleaners. The polyester fabric on the fuel basket can be difficult to clean up if it gets contaminated with goey gelatinous crud. In my case we had to cut the polyester fabric out of the fuel basket to accomdate a 1/2 inch tank draw straw kit.

This may possibly be another option. When I installed the Air Dog, almost immeadiately the fuel pressure would periodically go upto 24 psi but would gradually decrease down to around 20 psi with extended running of the truck. I called Pure Flow and talked to them and one of the techs suggested that that fuel return valve in the VP-44 was sticking shut and causing the increased pressure. He told me that this happens sometimes and usually the return valve will let loose and open up, thus reducing the pressure back to the factor set pressure of approx. 18 psi. We were all set to make a pressure out put adjustment on the Air Dog when the pressure dropped to the 18 psi range by itself. Apparently the return valve was stuck shut from so many years of never being used with the weak Carter lift pump but the Air Dog dislodged it. In your case, it could be that return valve us stuck open. This is not a very likely possibility. I would check that other options first. Have you called Pure Flow and talked to them about this issue?

How is that incomplete? You difference of opinion is with the MSDS not me. Even John Deere does the same thing. Chevron makes John Deere 15W-40 Plus 50 for John Deere. It is good oil, I bought a 55 gallon drum of it a few years ago when it was $2.38 a quart but it is pretty much the same thing as Delo. There is a very limited number of actual oil refiners. There are some differences in the additive package that goes into each various oil. Nothing magic about it.

Should have been more detailed. The Super Tech oils we use in our trucks is made by Shell for Walmart. To be absolutely certain, you must verify by checking each individual MSDS for each particular product.
