  2. I started getting the 0216 code in 2008 w 164K when I bought her, now she has 207K w the same pump. Put in an Air Dog Raptor & FP gauge. The worst issue for me has been the 47RE 4th gear hunt & now locking up a NV5600. Once I get that sorted out the VP44 will finally go. Just my luck, Dave
  3. Yes, it was overfilled & was using the syncro stuff. I've had much of the info directed towards me & I followed all the best of solutions, one of the reasons I was surprised the tranny locked up. I thought I lost my VP44 because on the last tank I didn't have enough 2-cycle. Thanks, Dave
  4. I was hoping that this was going to be the solution the the 4th gear hunt problem I was having. Now another tranny issue? Aren't these supposed to be bulletproof? Dave
  5. Hi all it's been awhile. So I was towing my light camper home from Tybee Island, Georgia back to Ohio & blew out my driveshaft on the 1st long hill in Virginia. Sunday night. The truck is sitting in Wytheville, Virginia in a UHaul storage till I can get back down w a car hauler. As far as I can tell the trans locked up & sheared the bolts off of the rear yoke. I had the top seal replaced before I left because it was leaking a little, but kept my eye on it, did not leak a drop, it had the 7 qt limit, so I don't get it! No vibrations in the truck before, so? I only put 3K on the swap since last Summer. She's a garage queen! Dave
  6. Changed the seal, was torn, leaking again, only happens on long trips, I will recheck the vent! Thanks, Dave
  7. Yep, running 6 1/2 qts. I'm wondering if the extra fluid is causing it. I'll let ya know what he finds! So the Auto's are hunters & the manuals are leakers, I can't escape it! Dave

  10. AH64ID, Your explanation is well represented. How are your EGT's during all of this?Is your boost at the stock pressure level? Do you have engine brake or are you using the gears to slow your descent? John, you don't have a Gen 2 any longer? BTW, my truck is going to get checked out today to see where my leak is coming from, I'll keep you posted on the diagnosis. The input shaft cover is a gasket, maybe the NV5600 is coming out again!   11. Chrysler has a 9 speed in the 200 car model! My friend has an 8 speed in his 2014 1500 Hemi RT truck & loves it, & he's a manual shift guy! Also the 6 speed is more robust 200 pounds heavier. I could live w both no problem. Still, either one is superior to a 47RE, IMHO. Now my problem is I have a leak, smells like the syncro oil. Front seal maybe. I have 6 1/2 qts in there, could the pressure be blowing it out? Always something, Dave

  14. The fiberglass hood came after a house fire, my paint bubbled from the heat of the flames, so a body/paint guy up the road from me was able to change the color. It just so happened he knew someone that was parting out a 2001 w the 1971 Barracuda style shaker hood. So I got another hood, 2001 sport bumper & a complete repaint for the same cost of the original red spot in. Tail lights melted, tailgate handle & RR dually inner fender. Also the fiberglass bed top was replaced cause a tree fell on it. So my wife wanted the truck orange & I wanted the shaker style hood scoop, so it was a win/win for my truck! Dave

  16. Thanks Gamble, I've been doing some investigation on an EGT & Boost. Don't think I should start messin w stuff until I get a constant w everything.........agreed! Thanks for your input on the DAP injector rebuild & intake, 1st hand experience means alot to me. I do have a BHAF installed, did it a few weeks back. W my fiberglass hood I don't hear the turbo whisle like I should but it's there. Did remove the ring. Thanks again, Dave
  17. So the DAP's are they new or reman? I think I saw a set of 7 hole remans .009 for $330 on eBay yesterday. Good price? Said they were all balanced & pop tested to 4350PSI if I remember correctly. Did the aftermarket intake give a noticeable difference? I wonder how much air velocity=hp&tq, a stock one is good for? Such as, good for 500hp? How much do you tow that your EGT's are not a problem? I don't have a boost or pyro guage & don't know if I ever tow more than 5 or 6K, Thanks, Dave

  19. Thanks for the link W&F. My noise sounds like the fan bearing is going out. Makes no difference if I shut the fan off or not. I will have to check this spring out for too much play. Dave
  20. I will have to remember this fix, I have the original starter in mine still, but new battieries & new Alt. BTW, good one JAG1, Dave
  21. Agreed w the Alternating Current thing, I went through 4 remans & one new before I found one in spec a few months back, that particular part went out in 20 min.. I got to changing out the Alt pretty fast! I ended up getting my money back & getting one from NAPA! All fine now! Dave
