  1. Well I finally got an internet that was actually worthy of using. Local ISP has this wireless thing up to 7 miles out of town. So being right at the 7 mile mark, I was able to get it. Sooooo...3mbps download AND upload! Guess its basically a large scale wireless network.. Sure as hell works for me! :thumbsup
  2. Personally, I could live with Windows 95. All I do is go on the internet. The only reason I need a better computer is because I multitask with up to 50 internet "tabs" open. I like to read about stuff and do cross referenceing with other web sites. Um, many other websites LOL
  3. I need to ship this dual PIII 1.4ghz computer to either of you. It wont recognize any kind of external pheripheral. Be it a hard drive, cdrom, anything! I am just saving for a different motherboard for the dualies now.
  4. Well its not too hard to stay clean. I just have a thing for going through any and all mudholes :D
  5. This thing has a Turion 64 X2 cpu and yet it was stock with 32 bit vista. I can't afford to go out buying 64bit vista. No clue as to why they didn't make it 64bit stock. It's like selling a car with a supercharger that isnt hooked up. As for the browser, I use Opera. I have used every browser out there and even deleted opera to get firefox when something was incompatible, just to find myself reinstalling opera. I love it. I just open firefox if something is incompatible with opera. My brother/sister/mom still have 32bit vista on their 64bit computers, would they be faster if they were decrapified? Or do they realllllly need to be upgraded to 64bit?
  6. I read some forums about it and noticed people either loved it or hated it. Personally.. :drool
  7. I reverted back to XP after getting a Vista laptop. Too slow, BS controls, I hated everything about it.
  8. Check this out! http://horsepowersports.com/corvette-789/
  9. :wow Ate his 4 year olds eyes! I could care less about what that guy did to himself, its his pile of crap body, but I can't believe he did that to those kids. :mad

I notice there is sometimes a major channel that stops working and says something like "we are working out a deal to get this channel back" because of Dish not paying that channel provider. I would much rather just pay $20/month and only get the 20 channels I want, which only 5 channels I want are on the basic package. I can see why Dish would be in trouble. I was at the license bureau yesterday and THAT would be the job to have for job security. LOL

You are 100% correct. We got the basic channels on DISH + the HD crap which I have yet to see an "amazing picture" out of, even with a 42" HDTV LCD. My grandpa got a convertor box and that was my first experience with digital broadcast. He went from 5-6 channels to I think 15 channels. I had no idea digital meant you got 3-4 different variations of every single station. Think he gets 4 ABC's. So the other day I pulled out my bunny ears and threw them on the 42" and was stunned at the picture it produced. Just with a damn coax cable it looked better than the dish HD channels that are on component cables :wow You always hear about the true TV gurus talking about how digital wouldn't be worth a damn, would send signals only half as far, yadda yadda.. I can pick up digital crystal clear stuff even when the same channel's analog signal is still snowy. I still haven't convinced them to trash the dish though :rolleyesDish doesn't have a very good channel line-up on the basic package either.
  12. I found out a way to get rid of tailgaters just by the way I drive LOL My truck has developed a lot of play in the steering and the tires sidewall have a lot of give so the truck goes all over the road, I used to hold on with both hands and keep it straight, but it got old really quick. Sooooo, I lean the seat way back, get comfortable, put one hand on the bottom of the steering wheel, and let it do what it wants with me doing nothing but keeping it between the lines. It has the effect of inadvertently keeping people off my rear since I look like a drunk. Keeps people way over in the other lane on interstates too. >

Just bolt a lazyboy to that 4 wheeler so your day isnt ruined. :thumbsup I haven't seen 3 stooges in a couple years ` We only got channels that suck here.
  14. Well I am not saying I dont love my cummins, but it is just too much truck for my needs. Honestly, my needs would require nothing but a TDI jetta. I go around 50,000 miles a year and I would say 5000 of it are truck needed miles. It just gets old going to big cities all the time and trying to park in hatchback designated spots.. But I have no desire to get something as worthless as a car. I want to haul some stuff and be able to pull a small trailer when needed. As well as having a 4x4 for winter and such. Sure they make AWD cars, but I go through up to 2ft of snow at times (with the 4x4 ford) and you can't try that without some big tires that wouldn't fit on a car. It would also be nice to not worry about fuel gelling up. I don't care if half the tank was full of power service, I still worry. Maybe I just have too much compassion for my inanimate machine LOL I am really just asking for opinions on what little truck to get since my dad is just going to buy my cummins from me anyhow, so it's not like it is leaving my sight, and maybe not even my position as its sole driver if my dad thinks he is gonna get a mustang too. It would make my day to see it do nothing but pull the trailer though, since it practically freewheels going down the highway. I hate thinking it is merely revving at 2000rpm going down the highway. There was a Nissan Frontier right next to the Dakota that I had to sit in. Seems almost identical in most aspects other than looks. Have to look up all the specs on those.
  15. My brother has a 2000 3.9 4x4 sport 5spd and his does the same thing. Seems most people are buying new dakotas cause they like their old ones but the good thing is they all say the new ones get better mileage. My brothers gets 15mpg no matter what, he put a receiver ball on it and pulled a 30ft camper frame around (camper was rolled so we tore everything but the frame off, so its virtually a flatbed) and although it tore up the transfer case (go figure) he still got 15mpg. It is so worn out that I think it just gives it the max amount of fuel (15mpg worth) all the time cause you don't notice any difference if you push 1/2" or push it to the floor. It is a dream to drive though. As for the new ones, dealerships were all busy and I got but one dealership to help me out and the one dakota they had, had a down payment on so I couldn't drive it. But I got pictures of some key aspects of them, these are ALL 4 door dakotas. Not sure if I like the turn knob 4wd though. I hate hearing those things jam into 4LO "smoothly". Fully flexed I can hardly touch the floor, although I am only 5' 10" Thats with the seat all the way back though :D Plenty of leg room in the back too.
  16. Yeah I have yet to see a 6spd one, or a V6 one. There is a 6spd 1500 here though. I am going to test drive one of the dakotas and that 6spd 1500 today. I will get some pics of them.
  17. That is wicked! For some reason it looks better than any other one I have ever seen, but I can't figure out why. But nonetheless it is nice! I should post some pics of what I ride. God thats a nice 4 wheeler :thumbsup Here is my toy.
  18. Well it seems to be a war here. I see 10 cents cheaper on diesel vs. gas then go a mile and I see it exactly vice versa. But I still hate seeing my dodge start every winter day not being plugged in. I got a different apartment on the ground though so I can plug it in now. Anyhow I went to a big city and found but one dakota. Ever since I sat in one I gave up looking at any Ram's, especially since they don't seem to make a 6spd 4wd model. I have found several dakotas that fit that criteria on autotrader for $8-15k so at least they depreciate nicely, since I can only afford it when they hit rock bottom prices LOL It is really ticking me off that I have only seen automatics and only seen 7 dakotas out of 4 dealerships.. I read people are turning around 20mpg out of them on the highway so thats good. I think those colorados get up to 25mpg with those I-5's but I can't bring myself to buy a chevy. We'll see if I can test drive a dakota next time I look at one.
  19. Lately I have been getting out of the diesel scene and turning my eye to the 6spd manual 1500's and dakota's. I am finding my truck to be needed less and less as time goes by, nevertheless, it is nice having a long bed truck that gets amazing mileage. But a 4x4 truck would also be nice. So I need some input. I started looking at the 6spd V6 1500's and have not found anything suggesting those came in 4wd's, or atleast I can't find one on any for sale website (ebay, autotrader). I want a V6 since I want it to be able to pull off some good mileage numbers when unloaded, however, a 1500 6spd 4x4 seems to only come in a 4.7 V8. Now the dakota.. My brother has a 97 and it handles good but has no room at all. I went and sat in a new one today and had never been in something so perfect. It was very roomy, yet was not a "large" vehicle. Those come with the very same V6 or the same V8. So what should I get? I do about 50,000 miles a year on the highway, hardly with any load at all.. I am steering clear of automatics because all I think about is dodge's reputation with them, and a 6spd with 4wd [lo] would give me 12 gears worth so no matter what I would be able to find a gear that would work, unlike the NV4500's big jump from 3rd to 4th.. Oh and if I get rid of my dodge it will merely be going from me to my dad for some cash since he won't let me sell it cause it pulls his trailer so good > So whats your alls input?
  20. Never heard of it. What has been your experience when using it?
  21. Well I haven't put another drop in the dodge, although the ford has seen many more half tank fulls of it LOL it looks like a steam train, but it also doesn't have the greastest compression anymore.
  22. Hmm, the only thing I know is that anything synthetic I ran in my truck be it hydraulic fluid, amsoil oil, all hated being burned and there was a slight white haze, making me think it wasn't burning very good. I guess it isn't the same with synthetic 2-stroke though since it is known that it will be ran as a fuel that needs to be burnt off.
  23. I am not sure on the royal purple stuff but make sure it says "TC-W3" on it, otherwise it might be synthetic which doesn't burn off like dino 2-stroke oil would. I take it you calculated at half a tank?
  24. Well supposedly it had plenty of power in it's hay day. But that was 180k miles ago LOL I think he would be better off with a 454 at this point. Or one of those newer 8.1 chevys :wow
  25. That reminds me of a story! My dad pulls a 3000lb TT around with his 95' chevy 350 and never sees double digit figures on mileage anymore, and its getting to that point without the trailer now too! But anyways, he is very skeptical about diesels and all of our "mileage claims" so one time I let him take my truck and the TT to a place about 200 miles away. Normally it would take his truck a couple tanks just to get there. I was on Full and he started asking if he needed to do anything special when filling up (since he sees me mixing 2-stroke and power service in the winter) I told him he wouldn't need to fill up. He thought I was completely full of crap. 1 Round trip later and I am at 3/8 tank. Now he wants one LOL
