  1. I agree -- that's pretty funny. I think I got the shaft in. The spacer that goes up against the bearing seems to in place. The shaft also seems to rotate freely and not bind up on anything so hopefully everything is how and where it's supposed to be.
  2. Does anyone know of a good trick to get the drivers side front 4wd axle shaft back in the diff. housing? Mine came off and doesn't wanna go back in. Or is it one of those things where you just have to play with it till it goes in?
  3. This is getting rediculous, seriously!
  4. You are absolutely right ISX. I can't be a mean person, nor am I. I always get *ucked over because I'm always the nice guy in every situation. I just can't say "no" in a rude or mean way. I just simply said "No, I'd rather not comment" but he insisted. I know that's what his job is and I just can't come to tell someone off. Even working all night, going to school, working on my truck, and grumpy as hell, I still couldn't tell the guy off. I respect what he does, I just don't like it when it happens to me is all. As for the the girl scouts... LOL. I'm not a girl scout cookie hater.
  5. Just wanna say thanks to dripley and moparman for their help. I had called up my local matco distributor yesterday and overnighted the puller to get the hub off. I'll see how well that goes once it arrives. In the meantime I'm gonna try and get that nut off. My dad has got a set off bigger sockets, which were the ones I was using yesetrday. I tried every single one and it appeared as if the socket 1 5/8" was the only one that would fit but wouldn't fit completetely around the nut. I'll try 1 1/2" like mopar said and go from there. I think I know what caused the bearing to go bad. I was pulling out of a tight parking lot downtown after having lunch with some friends and had to pul forward and pull reverse a series of times in order to get out. In doing that, I had the steering wheel turned all the way to the right and as I made my final forward pull to get out I gave it a little acceleration. As soon as I gave it a little acceleration, I heard this loud pop that did not sounds good. After pulling out I got out of the truck and looked under the truck at every steering compononet and everything else. I thoughta linkage popped out or something but found no evident defects during my inspection. Hopped on my truck and left. Then a couple weeks later wa la, there you have it; a defective wheel bearing!!
  6. Well, found out it was the drivers side bearing. got as far as taking off everything except the nut holding on the hub. Don't have the right socket. Repair delayed due to a freakin socket...
  7. Jacked it up, pushed and pulled on bottom of tire and found no movement. I then moved the tire and noticed it had a bit of resistance to it. I looked at the pad and rotor and noticed that both are in contact with eachother. I proceeded to give it a few revolutions and noticed a noise that sounds like something is in contact with eachother. Sorry, but I have no automotive experience and air brakes are setup differently than hydraulic brakes. Is the resistance normal? Should the pad and rotor have contact with one another? I haven't jacked up the drivers side and would compare both sides if I had another jack stand around... I know, dumb. My only conclusion to this is my ABS light is being triggered by the speed difference from both front WSS. But it doesn't explain why my parking brake light is also on. I'll try and see if I can get pics. How do I post pics on here for a post anyway?
  8. OK, so im in search of some front wheel bearings. I need one but I might as well do both. looking for some bearings that are decent. Anyone know of any good ones?
  9. Okay well im preparing to do this then. will I need any special tools other than regular tools? IM checking out the FSM and it says I need a puller, which I dont have..
  10. truck runs fine and everything except for I hear a grinding noise towards the front now when I drive. Could it be bearings or ABS Sensor grinding?
  11. I called the station and they transferred me directly to his cell phone. I told him if it did get aired, to keep me anonymous. He didnt ask my name but then again, I was wearing my mechanic uniform with my name on it. Hopefully he does I ask.
  12. On my way to school today I got a pending DTC. I stopped to check it out and got P0500 and p1693. Cleared it and then my ABS light came on. I looked up in my ultragauge to see if i had any other codes and got a P0216. Sounds like p0216 can pop as a result of others coming about. p0500 says theres no vehicle speed signal but I was getting a MPH reading on both my dash and the ultragauge as I was driving. None of this makes any sense... Damn truck! --- Update to the previous post... Parking brake light also stays on. --- Update to the previous post... This all sounds familiar, 1genro had this issue
  13. So, I'm pulling up into my driveway and I see a CBS channel 4 news van parked across the street from my house. I barely step foot on the ground and the news reporter rushes me asking me questions about an incident that ocurred a few months back. I told him I didnt want to interview, and he insists on asking me questions. I answered a few but with as little information as possible. I dont want it to be aired on the news tonight, WTF do I do?
  14. That's a good idea! I'm contemplating on getting my honda running -- get that little VTEC roaring again. Fills up with like $30-40, which is way better than filling up a 34 gallon fuel tank at 4.099/Gal.
  15. $4.099 here
  16. It was on me, I just decided to purchase another one. With work and school in the way, I really don't have time for anything, literally. It would be a shorter process than dealing with them directly and waiting for a response. If this one decided to give in a short amount of time then I will be more than happy to let them hear from me. I will be installing it later tonight as I have just received it in the mail earlier today. Hope it lasts longer than the first one.
  17. I am on my second UG after my first one taking a crap. I'm guessing it was due to the cold weather back in December-January. I decided to give UG a second chance and see how it goes. But it was good while it lasted. I liked it very much.
  18. I have a UG. Few others on here have one as well.
  19. Are there any other items that I'm gonna need when ordering the gauges? I'm going with the Electric Fuel Pressure gauge (0-40PSI), EGT (100-1600), and Trans Temp (140-320). For the EGT, should I get pre or post turbo? Whats the difference?
  20. That is pretty neat. I think I will go wit the EV2 Gauges. I doubt those require the use of the ECM. Thanks!
  21. Only reason I ask is because on the picture of the Fuel Pressure gauge I clicked on EV2 but in the center of the gauge if you notice, it says performax. All performax gauges require the ECM. http://www.genosgarage.com/departments.asp?dept=123
