Gauges
I've been looking at the Isspro gauges and want to make sure before I make my purchase. I am just curious if anyone knows if the EVII gauges will work without the peformax ECM? Thanks

I Need The Community's Help
I have to turn in a compare/contrast essay for English class. I decided to do my topic on Similarities and differences of the Diesel and Gasoline engines. This is what I have come up with so far SIMILARATIES-Both are DI engines-Both use the 4 stroke cycle principle-Both fuels hold lubricating properties to prevent internal parts wear DIFFERENCE-Ignition-Compression-Emissions-Refining process of fuel These are just points and need to write out my supporting sentences. I feel like I am leaving a few things out that I havent thought of yet. Can anyone give me more ideas?

Oil Change
I bought 3 gallons of Valvoline Premium Blue at $13.50, oil filter (LF3894), and fuel filter. All came out to $80; most expensive freakin' oil change I've ever done. Are Baldwin filters around the same price as the Staratapore's? What about other fuel filters? Oil filter (LF3894): $16.60Fuel filter (FS19855):$19.29

Suggested Upgrades for Diesels
Whats the performax gauges? Do these gauges use an ECM of their own to monitor data?

Always prime the filter, always!

HID Kits
No problem. You are entitled to your own opinion. as far as the tax subject goes, there's really not much I can do in terms of tax deductions from my paycheck. I only claim 1, which is myself and I dont really see any other way around it. --- Update to the previous post... dracozny, I will wait until you finish your setup. Then I will purchase the next setup you make.

HID Kits
Do you have a dual or single projector setup? I think the D2S oughta work fine. I have no idea how this will play out If I decide to go with the D2S projectors, which is what I will probably go with. The price seems right. I am new to this and have absolutely no idea how to even get started. I watched the video on the site you recommended and it seems fairly simple. Throw it in the oven, take it out, and tear apart the housing. My main concern is how will the projector bolt to the housing. Did you have a difficult time doing your setup?

HID Kits
Yeah, I checked out the website that was posted earlier and found the good, the bad, and the ugly. I decided to hold off on that because I am one of those people that gets very annoyed when on the other side of oncoming traffic. I want to do it the right way, I don't like the setup of a aftermarket housing/projector on the truck. It just looks a little cheesy, I think. --- Update to the previous post... dracozny, what projectors did you go with? I am concerned with size of projectors fitting inside the housing. I do know they offer mini's, but I want something that worls right.

Ladies and Gentlemen I Present To You...
Well, I must say... First day of math wasn't so bad. But I haven't even met my English class instructor and I already have assignments due tomorrow. I haven't even started that class!! Tomorrow is my first day!! This feels so like high school and waiting to the very last minute to get sh** done! God, how juvenile... --- Update to the previous post... Oh, and yes, I will take a crack at the VP44 control module. That is my main goal. Anybody got a VP44 control module laying around I can use as a donor, or ECM for that matter? :lmao:

Ladies and Gentlemen I Present To You...
Yeah, that would be quite awesome! But why would one want to write their own code?

Ladies and Gentlemen I Present To You...
....Your new Electronics Engineer Technologist. Did all the paperwork and got registered for my Bachelors. I'm very excited and thought, why not spread the word. I do plan and hope to obtains a scrap VP44 control module and tear into that as a future project for the class. It'll be quite interesting in figuring out the logic behind the unit's circuitry, I think.Well, thanks people!

Fuel prices thread...
$3.36 cheapest I found for Diesel and Gas being closer to $4.00. Prepare yourselves to get hit again with fuel prices. It's gonna get worse...

Fuel prices thread...
I'm really not looking forward to paying that amount of money for fuel again. Last time it really took it's tool on the wallet and certainly was not a happy camper. :cry:Looks like it's time to catch the bus for a while then.

HID Kits
Went and did my taxes a few days back and found out I'm getting some money back this year rather than paying, which is awesome news for me and the hospital... I'll be using the majority of the money to pay off the hospital bill I racked up last Thursday, all thanks to the stupid ice and snow!! :banghead::banghead::banghead:Anyway, I decided that if I'm gonna pay off the hospital I at least want to get an HID Kit for my truck. I have been looking for the blue-ish tint ones and haven't found ant good sites. I want something that stands out from the crowd, and no, I am not gonna get the cheap e-bay knock-off's. Anybody know of some good sites or at least lead me in the right direction? Thanks!

Scan Tool
I decided to go with the UG simply because of all the stuff it does. It reads live data, checks and clears codes as well as many other things, which was pretty neat I thought. All the other scanners plug in and do the same but, is way different than both the UG and SG. Can you imagine having a scanner like that plugged in like that and using as an SG or UG? It wouldn't look or seem right.Everyone has their preferences, just a matter of what you plan on doing with the scanner, or how it will be used, I guess would be a better way of saying it.

LOL. That's funny, I invent new ones myself too. But, only I understand. LOL

Ehhh... it happens. It's too bad, because I really liked it. What a disappointing experience...

Scan Tool
Just at a little over a month, it decided to take a crap. I don't know if it was the cold winter or what but, it doesn't function right. It doesn't even want to function under safe mode operation.I didn't send back the product registration card upon arrival so, I don't know if they will work with me on a repair or replacement. I'd really hate to say UG is a bad product just because of what happened with mine. I know they have a warning that states not to leave in extremely cold or hot weather so I'm guessing the cold is what did it in. Cold nights of fluctuating temperatures and as low as -11 degrees, probably doesn't help any either.Might stick to UG or get a Scangauge, who knows. I'ts kinda whatever at this point....

Engine Block Warmer
Sorry I blew up on you guys yesterday.

Engine Block Warmer
I had it plugged in all day yesterday and it didn't warm up. Water temperature was at 23 degrees.I'm suspecting a bad cord as well. I will find out once I test the heater element.

Engine Block Warmer
I am getting no where with this! Why would it matter if the block is warm or not, shouldn't it work regardless? The tests I did were performed lastnight, not this morning after I got home.I did a thorough inspection of the heater element and it was clean as can be. No signs of dirt, contamination, or anything of that sort. I am going to test the prongs on the heater element itself when I get home and see what I come up with. Anybody know what reading I should have, would it be the same reading of 20-21 ohms?

Engine Block Warmer
The extension cord is a 14 gauge @ 50 feet. I use about 47 or 48 feet of it from the outlet to the truck. I got an extra 2 feet give or take of the cord that I don't need.I just got home and plugged it in, and tried listening for any noises - none heard.I also took the capscrew off and looked at the prongs going to the heater element. Would it matter if the cord was plugged in wrong at the heater element?I did a little bit of surfin' lastnight and came across a site or forum, which I can't remember the site it was but, the guy had mentioned from hot to neutral you should have 21 ohms and from hot or neutral to the ground prong 0 ohms.I did the hot to neutral prongs and came up with 20.7I proceeded to do the hot and neutral to ground prong and had a constant fluctuation. This is the part that doesn't make any sense. What am I doing wrong? :banghead::banghead:

Engine Block Warmer
I just went out there and I got 20.7 ohm's. --- Update to the previous post... I think I got it confirmed it doesn't work. I plugged it in at 3 different outlets and didn't hear a thing. :banghead::banghead::banghead: --- Update to the previous post... Why doesn't the Ram FSM have the Diagnosis and Testing on it? I know it's a coil and measure the resistance on it but, what's the spec?
