  2. Hey Guys, lots of great reading on this site so far, just another Alberta truck Checking in
  3. keep the pictures comming
  4. looking to de-badge mine as well, just need this -30c weather to warm up
  5. i'm sitting aroung $4 a gallon here in albertasittint at 1.06 a L
  6. I would take a trip down to the local pick-n-pull. I always come home with a pile of goodies.
  7. or just make a cover out of some thin gauge metal, from what i can see do not look like it would be all that hard to do
  8. thanks guys, i never had a chance to look at the truck over the week end while it warmed up a bit here but now that it's cold again i'll have some time to look at it tonight and keep you all in the loop --- Update to the previous post... so it looks like the lift pump is dead. Thinking of going with a raptor 100 or a 150, really what is the difference. My thinking is go with the 150 and turn it down compared to going with the 100 and turn it up plus why limit myself with the 100.
  9. perfect i'll give this a try when i get home tonight, never even thought about having to bleed the fuel line. When i added the fuel last night i tried cranking it over fo probably close to a min on and off, and no luck. But i will try bleeding the system
  10. fuel has been added still no start. I'll check the line tonight once it warms up a bit and i'll get the rest of the codes. Thanks again for the help guys. God bless trucks. At least on the bright sid eit's nothing money and time can't solve. At least i have one of those
  11. whats "dead APPS sensor"truck is all stock that i can tell, again i have owned it less then a week
  12. sorry if i seem rude but i have had the truck less then a week and already have a no heat issue asn had to have the truck towed home already, its been a pretty $hitty week all in all, but what does this mean " P0500 Vehicle Speed Sensor 1 Circuit, or No Vehicle Speed Reference Signal 1 " truck seems like its not gettig fuel, however the gauge is reading just under a 1/4 tank. Is there a way to test the fuel pump on this truck. I know on a gasser you can turn the key and listen for the pump. when i do this i hear nothing. to add to my joy of working on the truck its currently -17f out in my driveway. Love living in Alberta. At least we get to watch hockey. thanks againg for the help guys
  13. well i was on my way home from work and the truck just quit running. i now have a p500 and a p1693, truck will not start. any ideas as to where to start looking. kinda thinking i should have kept my ford. probably not i'm not that mad at this truck but getting close
  14. thanks for the helps guys, i'm going to look at the blend door tonight and will keep you posted
  15. changed tstat last night, old one was bad the truck warms up faster now, however still no heat. On the bright side i can offically change a tstat in less the 3 min in this truck
  16. i'm gonna change the t-stat tonight and double check the blend door. Probably actually try and flush the heater core as well, better safe then sorry. The fun part is doing it in the -22c with wind chill it will feel more like -34c or -29f. I need a bigger garage. My 04 ford use to warm up in this weather in about 5 miles of driving but like was saying the dodge will not warm up for at least 15 miles. even then is does not blow warm air. Truck never really ideals for more then 10 min, even then i'll run the hi ideal if it's much passed 5 min
  17. checked the two hoeses going to the heater core today at lunch (let the truck warm up for 20 min) heat got to about a 1/4 of operating temp and the one hose was hot the other was what i could call above luke warm but not really as hot as the other. i'm thinking that i have two problems t-sat and heater core
  18. So heres my problem. I just picked up a 2001 2500 last week. I don’t know a whole lot about this truck however it is not my first diesel. Use to have a 2004 powerbroke. I have no heat in the truck at all. The motor eventually warms up to the middle marker, takes about 35-45 mins. Even then once it has warmed up I have no heat coming from my vents. If I turn the heat on I get heat for about 3 seconds, then cold air. I live in Alberta and it’s -25c right now where I am so it makes for a long cold drive to work every morning and I would like to get this issue fixed, any ideas?
