  1. my buddy has a waste oil heater in his shop that will run on dino, trans fluid, hydraulic fluid or even veggy oil.it was costly to set up but was worth it in the long run.it paid for itself in just a couple of years.
  2. every thing will match up,they made these things pretty much a universal fit to keep things simple.you will have to completely remove the wiring harness from your diesel and swap it into the gasser cab,but even it is a simple trade out although that does not mean it's easy.there is a bit of work involved.i think it's worth it though to have a rust free cab.i'v done both aspects of this with my 89 using a 87 gasser cab but still had to replace one floor & one rocker.good luck with yours.
  3. have you checked your map sensor.i had simular sounding symptoms with my 01.it didn't show any codes tripped but i replaced it and the issue cleared up.hope this helps.
  4. ya it went up here only a few cents as of right now,i payed $3.89 today but i keep seeing reports that it's gonna get close to $5.00 within the next couple of months.i sure hope not,i'm spending $100.00 or more a week now on fuel.i make my own bio from used vg oil in warmer weather but the oils getting more&more difficult to get.this past year i was able to save that $100.00 per week.need to find a couple thousand gal's.
  5. did you take a close look at the speed sensor ring?if it's possible the ring is making contact in the housing causing the shavings you found on the speed sensor.why did you replace it to begin with?
  6. i have a autometer gauge mounted on the steering column(easy to monitor there below the speedo)i don't know if it's because of i have it hooked up but 5 years now i'v had no issues w/water hammer.i have a 90* elbow mounted on the vp44 a 8-10in piece of fuel line then the "T" fitting holding pressure sensor.i hope this may help someone with their setup.
  7. my 01 was doing this surge deal pretty bad at about 45-50mph when just trying to hold speed.i hadn't really thought about it til i saw this post but mike(moparman) told me how to reset my apps & haven't noticed it since.but i cannot use my cruse control at all with the mods i have.just a slight decrease is speed & it accels hard to ge tup to speed, just wastes fuel, more steady with my foot.:banghead:
  8. i agree with the previous reply, leave them alone.your running your stock injectors& turbo basiclly making stock power.the bolts as they are will hold just fine.those that are retorquing them are doing so to try to hold in more cylinder pressure than stock due to the engine mods they've done.
  9. be careful if it is your front cv joint.i broke mine this year.as it did took out my fass fp wire harness wrecked the end that mounts the drive shaft to the transfercase & broke the rear trans. fluid line off the trans. which was the hardest part to fix.if the noise does not appear to be from a ujoint it may be an issue with the engage fork or collar inside the axle housing.hopefully it's just a ujoint their not too bad to replace.
  10. i'm looking for answers as to how to eliminate my torque management system on my 01.w/no mods in stock form i could do a brake torque w/ my truck but no matter what kind of power i'v added over the 7 years had it i can not do so.you can see from sig i'v up graded much of the fueling system but to no aval.i want to do some drag racing(for fun nothing too serious)but the truck bogs out of the hole until i hit about 25 mph then it'll go pretty good.on damp or wet roads no issue so i think there some kind of senor that fells road resistance & limits power offthe line.i had a fooler box from BD Diesel that eliminated it but shut down the tach, oil,&water temp gauges.i didn't like not knowing what was happening inthese areas.has anyone else come across this &found a fix.please help if you can.:banghead:
  11. i had high enough temps in my engine to crack the head around every exhaust valve & even burnt some chunks out but the exhaust man. never cracked.i'd be leaning towards it being a faulty man. not from high temps.
  12. i installed a light after my ip went bad the second time.put in a brand new cummins lift pump went bad in less than a month & took out my ip again the low press. light never even lit.i got one of the steering column gauge mounts for my fp gauge it's easy to monitor there.
  13. i'v owened a 01 24v for about 7 years now, i'm still learning new things about it thanks to these forums & others more knowlageble than me(which don't take much)i also own an 89 w/a 95 Ppump motor that i just got back on the road after a year plus frame up rebuild.it has bigger delivery valves, #4 fuel , plate, afc housing forward, star wheel ajusted &4in exhaust.i'v been running a holley black elect. fuel pump since the stock lift pump went some time ago.now after reading this post i see i'm very likely starving my inj.pump when on the go pedal.the black holley pump only puts out 7-10 psi.i'll be fixing my stock lift pump ASAP.thanks again for the info.
