  1. John, cable arrived today. Thanks. However; I go to the MADS site and find out that the upgrade downloads at this time can only be done on Windows based computer. I've got a new MAC!!! Looked at a "windows emulator" like the site said, but I went to the Apple store online, and the reviews weren't so good for it. Watched the 2 videos for the downloads……………..I don't know that I'd want to even attempt it. Gosh that's a lot of windows, clicking, etc.!!! :banghead: Does the "latest" upgrade/download change my Smarty Revo SO-6 to the POD??? I was a little confused there.
  2. Mike "needs' to take out "GLACIER INSURANCE"!!
  3. Mike, I don't "read" it, but Russian is a "beautiful" language is listen to. Probably the most "beautifui" of all to listen to IMHO……..even if you don't understand what's being said!!!!!!
  4. The "Eco-Boost" is not only in the pickups. The same technology (for lack of a better word) is into the passenger cars also. I really like the idea, but it's still a Ford in the end…………………………….and on the shoulder.
  5. Mike; you've obviously never lived in the "rust belt". That's actually not too bad for around here!!!
  6. I've no doubt that the "ecoboost" can pull it. My cousin has one, and it's really impressive empty. But can it pull a TT or car-hauler uphill both ways?????? A 3.5L turbo gasser…………..I have my doubts; especially long term towing doubts. Remember this axiom………………"There's no replacement for displacement."
  7. Don't know about snowflakes; but the fingerprint, "THEORY" is being tossed around a bit now. No links, just saw it on TV!!!!
  8. Is Barry near you??!!! :banghead:
  9. No, gotta get the cable to attach the computer to the Smarty.
  10. I will admit that I didn't see that coming watching the video. Twas good. I was half expecting gun shots.
  11. Funny, I always thought it was the "California" of the plains states!!!! Or is that what you meant by "banana belt"???
  12. I don't remember who posted the picture; but it was in a thread I started last year titled, "You MIght Be a Real Wood Burner If…." So, yes, I stole the picture for my avatar!!!!!
  13. You do realize YD that the longer you stay South of the Mason-Dixon line the "thinner" your blood becomes. After a while you'll begin to think that water freezes at 60*F!!!
  14. My first ever new vehicle was a 1987 Toyota pickup. Regular cab, 5 speed, 2WD and no air conditioning!! Come hell or high water, that little truck with the 22R four-banger always got me 30-32mpg on the highway. Sold it with 180,000 miles on it to an amigo that did part time landscaping. Never saw it after that. Just prior to selling the Toyota, is when I bought my '99 Dodge Ram 2500 with the Cummins.
  15. The lower rears don't always result in improved mileage. Even with the lower rpm's, there are other factors involved………….gear leverage, electronic timing at certain rpms, etc. IIRC, AH64ID, I believe, said the 3rd gens "stock" retard the timing around 1800-2000rpm.
  16. After having both……………..I like the NV5600 better for towing by far. Empty, it doesn't matter.
  17. Yeah, his truck got to go to the "special" school!!! Was it a tow truck or a short bus that took your truck to the special school John??!!
  18. Take a picture now with the odometer below 300k…………….get the 200k badge……………then when you cross 300k…………..take another picture and get the 300k badge. If you want to that is!!!!
  19. Update: Just over 31,000 miles on the SpynTec hub kit now. Still not one problem at all. With the winterized fuel, I'm still getting around 18+mpg. In regards to the Mile Marker hubs; I've used them about 10x as much so far this Winter as all of last Winter. They still turn to engage and disengage quite easily……………….but I've got gorilla hands. They also don't have that "gritty" feel as I turn them…………..like many manual hubs get after a while. I'll probably pull them apart late summer/early fall when I get around 50,000 miles on them to repack the bearings. So far so good……………….probably just jinxed myself now.
  20. This is true…………………and I believe for a while, that you needed to be a TDR member in order to get one………………I think they wised up since then!!!!! But then some of y'all may be like this…….http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-lj056ao6GE
  21. Not arguing, just saying here………………but I recall reading that it was "flow" and not "psi" that was important for CP3 function……………as the CP3 can "pull" fuel if needed…………………….unlike the VP44. I'm pulling this off the top of my head from a guy that went by the name of "super duty" on CF or DTR…………….I don't remember which. He was even more anal than you are (in a good way) about filtration, pumps, flow etc. His research said the the plastic cover on the OEM filter housing was good to about 60psi iIRC.\ My truck runs good in temps as low as -20………………..why would I want to change things……………….????
  22. I do believe you're referring to the VP44 pumps in that regard. The CP3 can handle up to 60+psi IIRC…………………….and YOU must remember that my FP sender is "PRE" filter of any kind. So if'n I'm seeing 30+psi in the coldest of cold we've had here,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,…I'm guessing that the pressure PRE-CP3 is way below that.
