Career change contemplated
That's one of the reasons I'm slowing my work (occupation) load down, is so that I can do what I want, when I want……………………while I still can do it physically!! I'm looking to work on an essentially part time basis now. How many stories have y'all heard of guys retiring at 65, or whatever, and then dying within a year because they became couch potatoes and had no hobbies or outside interests????? Stay active.

roller coaster temps here!
Went down to the P's on Friday morning. I woke up Friday 6:00AM with the temps at my house at 15*F. I left my house to head South to the P's at 11:00AM with the temps a my place at 25*F. I get to my P's place an hour later at 12:00PM and the temp is 44*F down there………………….60 miles South. Only difference being that I have 12" of snow cover at my house and my P's had almost none!! Saturday was warmer, and I went with my P's down to my Dad's best friends house for a Christmas "get together"……………..another 20 South. Twas almost 50*F down there on Saturday. I got home about 9:15PM Saturday night and the temp was 34* at my house. Woke up Sunday morning with a temp of 34*F………………..and within an hour, the temp had dropped to 23*F with freezing drizzle!!!! Yeah, it was a skating rink here yesterday!!! Woke up this AM and it was -8*F here and never got above 5*F here today. Gonna be a colder one here tonite.

Career change contemplated
Gonna turn 50 this coming April………………just got back from cutting up and loading my truck up with some future firewood. I do agree that the older you get the more there is a NEED for you to remain active so you don't LOSE what you have. I guess I'm lucky though, I've never had a problem with weight………..except keeping it on!!!! I still wear the same sized clothes I did in high school. Granted, the body parts have re-modeled and look a bit different, but still the same………………5'11", and 180lbs.

Show off!!- Stuff Woodburners Should Never Hear……………or Say
Insurance POV……………………….you need a trip to the eye doctor!!!- clutch slipped
Wouldn't a leaky rear main seal on the engine run the risk of contaminating the clutch??- OIl consumption issue
I understand what you're saying here, but aren't they basing this off of filtering with the OEM FF only??? Both you, I, Mike, and others here run some type of bypass oil filter in addition to the OEM filter. IMHO, you can at least (easily) double the change interval!!! When I had my '99, I had a buddy that got me 7-8 gallons of synthetic engine oil for free. He owed me a favor or three, and this covered it. He worked at a school bus maintenance garage, and somehow wound up with the stuff. It was new also, not used. I don't remember the brand now; but the only benefit I can recall from the synthetic, was much easier cold starts in "cold weather. I do think the engine was louder after warm up…………..even with the straight pipe. Just saying.- 19.5's on the way!!
What is the difference in weight with these new 19.5" rims vs. the OEM steel clad vs. OEM aluminum???? And then the for the tires also???- Just did front brakes
Not hubs guys, unit-bearings.- clutch slipped
I slipped the OEM clutch on my '04.5 with a heavy foot and the Edge turned up. My SouthBend OFE now has 130,000+ miles on it, with the stock hydraulics.- Just did front brakes
When I ordered my '99; yes I ordered it, I specified "rear anti-lock" brakes only. There you have it!!- 200,000
140 miles to go. Hopefully my camera will work.- clutch slipped
Frankenstein shoes??!!- Merry Christmas to All
Merry Christmas everyone!!!- You Picked A Fine Time To leave Me Blue Shield
What was it about??- OIl consumption issue
Valvoline Premium Blue has a pretty good smell to it also.- 19.5's on the way!!
What happens when you slow down???? Are you gonna get some weird wheel hop and such??!!- 19.5's on the way!!
These centramics work as a "dynamic" balancer vs. a "static" one like the lead weights then???- timer for block heater
I used something like this years ago when I had my '99 and didn't have a garage. Would plug her into the timer which was set for about 4 hours before I used to leave the house in the AM. Worked great.- something wrong with my truck?
I don't think that sounds bad at all. Back when I had my '99 I had the "opportunity" on multiple occasions to have to start her up after 2.5+ days of -10's for highs and -20's for lows………..sounded 100x worse than that. The white smoke is from incomplete combustion. My '99 above would "fog" the neighborhood similar to if you were spraying for mosquitos. Even idling for 5-10 minutes did nothing………………I had to "drive" her in order for her to warm up.- Fuel 2-3 psi
With the GDP Walbro fuel pump system I bought years ago, there's a machined aluminum block with 3 "ports" in it. One port takes the brass "push lock" fitting that the rubber fuel line from the Walbro connects to. Another is an identical "nipple" with rubber O-ring that fits into the back of the OEM FF housing where the OEM lift pump was mounted………re-use the OEM mounting bolts on the block. The 3rd "port" is on the top (as viewed) and that's where I screwed the sender for my fuel gauge. The machined block looks very similar to the one Richard @GDP uses in the "Fuel Boss" kits now. It may be identical; but it's difficult to tell from the picture. http://www.glacierdieselpower.com/product.aspx?pf_id=FB-03045 It's the part in about the 6:30 position in the kit picture. It was convenient, so I used it!!! - 200,000
