  1. The "intermittent" part of my wipers has not worked properly on my truck since less than 1 year old. I brought it in to the stealer to get it checked then, but they said they it was a "module" which they didn't have in stock. They called a month later saying it (the module) was in stock, but I never went back. The continuous low and high work fine………..it's just the intermittent. It'll swipe once on the correct interval, then do anywhere from 2-9 continuous swipes and then go back to the "proper" interval. Can be aggravating at times, but it's livable.
  2. I felt sorry for the "gas" man when he came to read the meter………..he took a "double-take" when he read it………..he looked so sad.I "season" my firewood with salt………….it dries it out faster.
  3. Russ those Anhydrous Ammonia tanks ARE labeled. Anyone in farm country has seen them being dragged thru fields and in tandem and triple down the farm roads. IMHO, the cop should've known that…………especially since he could see the vapor coming from it. That AA is, IIRC, 97.xx% pure ammonia………………….the stuff in your household cleaners that you buy at the store is about 3-10%, and that'll take your breath away. 1 gallon of liquid AA will produce, IIRC, about 800 gallons of vapor. But that doesn't tell it all………………….remember how such low concentrations take your breath away……………………..imagine that 800 gallons of "pure" vapor dispersing in the air by 50%…………..still almost impossible to breathe. Years ago I worked at a fertilizer plant and filled those tanks. We had to wear rubber gloves and a face shield similar to what you wear when using a grinder. There was a "horse trough" full of water by the filling dock; so if you got sprayed accidentally, you were to jump into the water. AA has an "affinity" for water…………….that's what kills you……………….it pulls the water from you nose, eyes, skin and lungs so fast that it essentially "freezes" the tissue…………..killing it. Nasty, nasty stuff.
  4. My first ever "new vehicle" purchase was 1987 Toyota pickup regular cab. Put just under 200k on that bad boy in 12 years of ownership. The 22R in that truck was indestructible……………………30-32mpg on highway regularly, and she'd start all the time down to -20*!!!
  5. Rolled past 199,199 today coming home from pheasant hunting today!!
  6. "At least he went home safe that day". That's the "prevailing" motto for most PoPo officers nowadays.WTF IMHO!!!:cookoo:Don't get me going on this topic…………………..I can provide examples and some proof of crappola like this!!!
  7. Don't know if'n I'll get down there again for the duck season, but I'll let you know about my next trip!!
  8. Will do!! We were hunting on Beatty Lake; just East of Crowleys Ridge North of Madison, AR.
  9. Railroad ties are OK to burn.I use WD40 and a lighter to start my stove.
  10. Have had to mornings in the single digits this week since I've gotten back from Arkansas. The furnace kicked on a couple times last night and the night before last. I have it set on 58*.If'n my stove had a larger firebox, I could keep up the temps in the house overnight. I've not trained myself to get up a 2:00AM and reload the stove yet!!
  11. My OFE; even with almost 130k on her, still doesn't like to be "feathered". Either engage it, or disengage it!!!
  12. 1. I work out at the gym 4 days a week; you should join me. Neighbor that still is 3 spins after "working out" for over a year now.2. My chain is still OK…………………..I only hit the chain link fence twice!!!:bang head:3. This was cut over a year ago and I split it last week…………..it's good to burn now.4. No need for them "fancy" chimneys when you can route them out a window!!………I'll take a picture of this set up as it's in my neighborhood!!!!
  13. Buahahahaha!!! Kinda defeats the purpose of "burning wood". Hey??
  14. 1. Oak burns too long…………….I'm switching to pine.2. It was "standing dead"……………..it's dry enough to burn3. I love to hear the wood "sizzle" when I throw a log on the fire.
  15. 1. When neighbors look at my wood stacks and say……………………."Don't you have enough wood yet?" My answer; "That's a personal question, don't you think?":cool:2. If I had the time I'd cut, split, stack and burn wood like you…………………….quote from a retired person.3. Neighbor said, "There's no way you can heat your house with wood around here." My answer, "Wanna come in and feel the heat and see last years gas bills?"4. Neighbor saying………….."Don't let that wood sit too long or it'll rot."5. All quotes from the same neighbor!!!!!
  16. OK, I think this'll be fun here!!!I'll start it off…………………………….1. Sounds like your wood is too dry2. I miss my natural gas heat3. How can I make more creosote4. I have too much wood5. Flames shooting out of your chimney are the "secondary" burn taking place6. If you keep burning pine, you'll go blindLet's keep it going guys!!
  17. That's the place!!!!
  18. My BIL has had them in the past……………………….he described it as giving birth to a golf ball out your "Johnson"!!!!
  19. I left a week ago today for "opening weekend" of Arkansas duck hunting season. Did OK on ducks; and I wish I could've stayed longer. I waited to post about the trip to be able fill MightyWhitey up again so that I could give mileage reports for 2 tanks of fuel.Only downside to the trip was that the morning after I got home, I wake up to a flat tire on MightyWhitey!!! Driverside front. No indication of problems whilst driving home also!!! I dunno??:shrug:Anyhow; I left my house 1 week ago with about 1/4+ tank of fuel and filled up in Champaign, IL on the way down. About 180 miles to Champaign. That tank lasted me to Forrest City, AR plus a bit of running around down there, then all the back to Sikeston, MO. That was about 64x.xx miles and that tank averaged 20.8mpg.:thumb1:I fuel up this AM with 67x.xx miles on the Sikeston, MO fill up………………tank average of 21.6mpg!!!! Both tanks were mostly highway miles (90%) running 65mph with light winds quartering from the rear both ways!!!!! That's a rarity for me!!!!! I usually wind up driving into the wind and uphill both ways on most trips I make!!!!:bang head:I'm loving it!!!
  20. W&F, I do know that. I was mainly referring to "in home" cooking vs. some restaurants. There's a place in Medina, ND that has awesome BBQ. On the other hand, a few years ago, we got back into town after a morning hunt and we see the sign that says XXX Lutheran Church lunch $5.00. We stopped in and got a plain ham and cheese sammich and bland chicken soup. No spicy mustard or horseradish for the sammich…………………..and the soup seemed to be made without sage, parsley and bay leaves!!!!!!! Remember how the 3 Stooges made chicken soup????
  21. Try this spice mixture out guys……………..it's to die for!!!!! I use it on beef, pork, chicken, wild game etc.:2cents:Reata Grill Spice Blend4 tablespoons kosher salt3 tablespoons ancho chili powder2 tablespoons dried granulated garlic2 tablespoons sugar2 tablespoons ground cumin2 tablespoons coarsely ground black pepper1 tablespoon ground thymeI use "turbinado sugar" aka. brown sugar rather than regular sugar.
  22. No on all accounts for mine. One occasion sticks in my mind though…………………….there's a good section of road near me to "open" the truck up for a couple miles…………………anyhow; as I got to maximum speed (about 107-108mph), the wipers came on a swiped once, and shut off. The intermittent/wiper switch was in the off position.
  23. The first one can difficult to find in NoDak seeing that the only spices 98% of the people use up there are salt, pepper and ketchup!!!! Oops, occasionally yellow mustard!!! The second one you can find everywhere.
