What causes the heat exchanger to stop "exchanging" heat???? Scale from the water used in our trucks coolant??? Plugged passages due to the same????

Makes the stove draft better…………………..aka, burn more efficiently. 90 degree bends and long horizontal runs should be kept to a minimum on a wood stove for best performance.

It's gonna be a nasty, raw night tonite at "Soldier Field" in Chitcago when the Cowboy and Bears play tonite on Monday Night Football. It's about 12* now at my place North of Chitcago near the Wisconsin border, and the temps are expected to drop well down into the single digits after dark.That's only part of it though………………………WNW winds howling to 20+mph are blowing snow and making some nasty wind chills!!!Got the wood stove cranking at about 600-650* stove top and my house is about 72*…………………got some brew ski's in the fridge…………making some chili……………………..I'm ready for the game. I'm no longer a football fan, but I do like watching extreme cold/snow/rain games!!

While you were driving somewhere, did you drive thru someone else's "leak" causing it to be on the "inside" of the wheel well liner???

One of my best friends e-mailed it to me. He's a Lab guy also………..he has one of my pups. Anyhow, we do similar stuff with our Labs when directing our dogs on a "blind retrieve". A blind retrieve is when you send the dog for a bird he hasn't seen fall. You direct the dog with whistle, hand and voice signals. Beer afterward is optional!!!!

Once you get her "thawed" out, run about a quart of 2 stroke in her. It's "technically" not an "anti-gel" agent……………..but it has a lower "pour point" than straight diesel. Thus; when you add it to straight diesel; it has to lower the "gel/pour point" of straight diesel!!!!! Just saying of course…………………I'm just a "flat-lander"!!!!!

I've had good luck with Cooper tires. I'm running the Cooper Discoverer AT3's now, and ran the Discoverer ATR's before that on my '04.5. Stock size…….LT265/70 17E.IIRC, I read a post here that said Cooper was recently sold though. Don't know how that'll affect tire quality in the future.

Russ, I also worked in a meat packing plant in Amarillo, TX right out of college. They used AA/pure ammonia as the refrigerant in the coolers. Seemed like we could always smell a bit of ammonia in them coolers. Sometimes it got so bad we had to stop the line until it was fixed.Depending on "atmospheric" conditions the AA vapor can do anything. Normally the AA vapor is lighter than air, and will rise. However; there are times and conditions that will cause it to hug the ground. You saw that in the video…………………though part of that was the close proximity to the source of the vapor.
