  1. As you know, I'm perfectly happy with my Smarty Revo SO6. As you know also, I run SW5 default setting 99.9% of the time. And I'm happy with the performance/results/mileage etc. Part of the reason I was reluctant to "upgrade" my Smarty was that I had an "ancient" computer; and I wasn't sure I could count on a "complete" download. I've now got a "modern" computer and can access do stuff my old one couldn't. This is my question……………….and I've been running SW5 almost exclusively since I got the Smarty. What, if anything, will I gain by downloading a "later" version of the software? Would SW5 be better or worse as far a mileage goes??? I'm not interested in the POD, max torque, or max HP, etc………………just wondering what I'd gain………….if anything.
  2. With the crazy cold we've/I've had here North of Chitcago, my FP gauge has been "maxed" out……….30+psi. Normally in normal temperatures, it runs 24-26psi. That's in FRONT of the 2 fuel filters in my set up………for those that are new here. My truck has been running just fine…………so far. I've been driving in temps this year as low as -15*F. I will admit though, that my truck is kept in an unheated garage over night……………..but for the first time in the history of me living at my house………………a water bottle froze in the cab of my truck whist being housed in my garage!!!!!! An attached garage also…………not a free-stander. Anyhow, I just thought it would be of interest to let y'all know what the "fuel pressure" is "PRE-FITLER" for those of y'all that run FASS, AD, Assassin, etc. I think I see more variation in lift pump pressure than most here based on where my FP sender is. Colder=thicker fuel=higher lift pump pressure…………………….for me For most of y'all………………..you have you FP gauge at the the injection pump, and after the fuel filters………………….in the cold weather, with the "thicker" fuel, after it get forced thru the fuel filters, the pressure will be LOWER than normal…………………..JUST THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT MINE READS!!! Just saying, not arguing!!
  3. It'll cost you $5.xx, Mike. Like I said in the OP; the badges are free save for the shipping. Mike, I do believe that you'd only get the 200k one because they cannot verify you owned the truck when it passed 100k. Don't know that for sure………..only basing that on how the website works. I think!! :banghead:
  4. Yeah, it was only -8*F at my ranch when I rolled out this AM. Warmed up (relatively typing) faster today than the prior 3; and like I said in my prior post, it got up to 20*F today.
  5. When you think about it; it's really a cheap way to advertise. It cost me $5,xx shipping. They shipped it USPS in a padded envelope………The postage read $3.xx……………………….advertising all the way!!! Guys like me, and many of y'all want to "brag" to all the Ford and Duramax guys, and this is a good way to do it……………plus it gives "free" advertising to Cummins; and to a lesser extent, Dodge (or Ram now)!!
  6. Heat wave……………….up to 20*F at my house today……………….no sun, so my afternoon thermometer is accurate.
  7. Anyone here have these badges other than myself??? If you'd like to get one, go here......…………..http://www.cumminshighmileageclub.com There's no cost for them except shipping.....................but they do require a photo of your odometer to verify mileage. I get asked about these quite often.
  8. Well worth the watch!!!! Incredible!!
  9. Yeah, I still woke up to -14*F here this AM, but when the sun gets around my house (noonish) and onto my thermometer, I don't get an accurate reading. That said, yesterday with the sun shining on it, I never saw it higher than -8*F. Today I saw it read 5*F…………….but the official site for my town was 1*F like I said above.
  10. Don't know that I believe it or not, but the "official" high temp for Lake Villa, IL (where I live) was 1*F today. Couldn't tell on my thermometer because the sun was skewing the reading. It was still real cold today, but with less wind than yesterday.
  11. I like chimney fires on a regular basis………..that way I don't have to clean the chimney
  12. That's pretty open to interpretation there Tom!!!!
  13. There's an old saying that goes something like this……………..If it's cold in Alaska, it's warm down here; if it's warm in Alaska, it's cold here. A first here for me………………I usually keep a gallon jug of water in the bed of my truck for the dogs and myself. However, I've been keeping the jug in the cab of my truck overnight so it doesn't freeze. My truck is garage kept, and usually it doesn't freeze in the bed, but for the last couple weeks it has been. Anyhow, went on a run for adult beverages, and the jug was frozen solid sitting on the passenger side floor!!!!
  14. Spooning??!!
  15. Never got above -13*F at my house today. The wind is still WNW 20+mph.
  16. Liars figures and figures lie. Lies, damn lies, and statistics. Distort the facts to suit your agenda. Modern Liberal Media 101...
  17. Wax and/or paraffin fire starters work great also. You can make your own out of chainsaw spoils, dryer lint, a cupcake tin and some paraffin. 3 hours later, and the temp is a balmy -15*F. My stove room is 82*F warmer than it is outside now…………..67*F in the stove room……………..this wind is pulling the heat out of my house so fast.
  18. That article is so biased against "fracking", it's not even funny. Notice how they don't say what the wells were contaminated with????
  19. Just dropped 1*F down to -18*F.
  20. Woke up to -17*F about an hour ago. Hasn't changed yet. Wind is howling at 20-30mph also.
  21. The "Ice Bowl" temps could be broken at this game tomorrow. Anyone here going??!!
  22. Was wondering when someone would catch that!!!! I'm just choochin' here.
  23. How will/would the centramatics perform in mud or snow or slushy snow or freezing mud and snow etc. when that stuff gets in and around the centramatics???
  24. 2 man it………………..Mike and Taz!!! That's gotta be some strong, big chain to keep from coming apart!!
