  1. While I did do the SpynTec kit; I do understand what you're saying. And I'm sure there's a very good reason why this cannot be done, but I truly don't know what it is. If this was possible, it'd been done years ago IMHO. There'll be some folks that are smarter than I am reply here shortly that can more directly answer your question.
  2. I have no doubt about that at all Mike. I could've gotten it all in 1 trip had I pulled out my dog crates and the platform they sit on out of the bed. But it was close (less than 1 mile away, so I made 2 trips. It took less than 1 hour. I used the 18 or so inches behind the crate platform and the tailgate to load the logs onto.
  3. While I was driving thru the neighborhood today to go up and get some white oak that I couldn't fit on the truck a month ago............I drove by a house/lot that has essentially sat vacant for 10+ years now. It's right on the water..........Lake Miltmore.............I fish there a lot. Anyhow, there was a crew clearing the lot of all the "volunteer" trees.........mostly ash/box elder. After I got my load of oak back to the house; I went back (less than 1 mile) to the above. In my best "Spanglish", I was able to communicate with the amigo that if the cut wood was free, I'd take it. He said, "Si, Si, Si"!!!!!!!So 2 small loads in Mighty Whitey got me this. The pix don't show the oak that I had already split and stacked in the back yard today prior to these pix.
  4. Be very safe!!!!
  5. We've all seen the Pikes Peak races to the summit. How long before they start racing from the summit to the base??!!
  6. Everyone has the Right to Bear Arms.
  7. Has come to "The Peoples Republic of Illinois!!!!:hyper: It's "shall issue", but with a host of restrictions just to get it passed with the Chitcago reps and sens in Springfield. We'll work on the restrictions later.................many of them are where law abiding Chitcagoans need protection the most. Whatever!!!:banghead: The restrictions won't affect me............as I don't frequent those areas at all.:smart:The General Assembly over-rode an amendatory veto by our Gov................Governor Jello...............by a huge margin. Jello tried to add a multitude of more restrictions to the bill the the General Assembly passed, by they said FU by there huge over-ride margin. All that said, the first permits are still 8-9 months out at the earliest.
  8. Our country needs to look at "non-food" source agriculture products for the 'fuel market", IMHO. SwitchGrass in an native species that is superior in all regards for fuel production. It gets little fanfare at all.
  9. Raspberries can be very "invasive" if you don't maintain them.
  10. Right at 35,000 miles now on my AT3's. All is well, and probably hve 2/3-3/4 of the tread left. Last 2 tanks of fuel have gotten my 21.0 and 20.8mpg. Good, good tires.
  11. JFYI's; now that I'm running Valvoline Premium Blue, I change the oil out yearly. But between that, I change out the TP in my MotorGuard bypass oil filter at about 5k mile intervals and then add a quart of "make up oil". At the yearly change out now I change the OEM oil filter with a new Fleetguard one. I average between 20-25,000 miles/year also. I'm still $$$ and oil ahead doing it this way vs. the 5k complete oil/filter change many do here.Just saying.PS..............Even though I'm running VPB now, I would not hesitate to go back to WallyWorld SuperTech diesel oil at all. For you's guys running all over the country.........that's something to think about in your travels. You're always near a WallyWorld unless you live near Michael!!!!:lmao2:I tend to think that's a good thing though!!!! Not living near a WallyWorld.
  12. I regularly get in the 20mpg range now. Smarty helped that a lot, but the SpynTec free spin manual front hub kit helped more.About 520 miles on this tank now and I'm just starting to touch the 1/4 tank line on the fuel gauge.
  13. Welcome!!! I try to grouse hunt in and around "Clam Lake" each year. Not too far from you!!!
  14. I'm paying over $4.00/gal for propane here. I use it to run my forge to modify and shape horseshoes that I fit on horses. Hell, if I weren't paying $3.75/gal for diesel; I'd make a run to Nebraska and fill up my 2 100# propane tanks!!!! Especially for $1.05/gal. I currently run 2 40# propane tanks in my work trailer.
  15. In my area, I pay more for propane by the gallon than I do diesel fuel. If the same is in your area, all you're doing is replacing the diesel fuel source with a more expensive fuel source...........propane. So your figures would be "skewed"!!! Just saying though.
  16. A Black Hawks banner would look really nice in the bed of that truck.
  17. IMHO, you shouldn't shy away from the 3rd gens either. You're more likely to find a "low-mileage" version of them vs. a 1st gen!!!!
  18. I believe the 10mph= minus 5 in mpg at speeds over about 60mph. That's when wind resistance becomes the determining factor. That said, my truck is very cold blooded...............the warmer it is, the better mileage MightyWhitey gets. Couple years ago I posted a this thread......http://orum.mopar1973man.com/threads/2147-New-Miles-amp-Mileage-Records?highlight=mileage+record It's stupid hot/humid here now, but since the above post the SpynTec free-spin hub kit has improved mileage much more than I've read about. Since the weather has gotten hot around here, I've not had a tank of fuel average under 19mpg. Last tank averaged 21mpg. Speed kills mileage!!! Plain and simple!! Michael has posted the "REAL TIME SAVINGS" by traveling at greater speeds also. It's not as huge as most think. In fact, for everyday short distance driving, it's not worht it IMHTBHO!!!
  19. I hear what you're saying; but I don't want to change anything now unless I truly have to. MightyWhitey is running too good right now for that. Besides, I may FUBAR something up in the process!!!!
  20. Reserving this post for future "EDIT" upon replies below!!!I just don't get the whole premise of the original post??? Are we supposed to "feel" "sorry" for you???!!!:duh:Your OP essentially sounds like the proverbial, "idiot in action"!!!! Did you ask yourself this question prior?????..............."Hold my beer, and watch this."???????:cookoo:You not only endangered Michael and I, but everyone else on this site with your testosterone spewage down the road. Grow up.Just saying.......................
  21. OK; boys and girls, my last tank of fuel got me right at 21mpg. This tank was probably 3/4-7/8 empty driving. The empty driving was probably 50/50 highway/suburbia driving. The SpynTec kit is actually helping my mileage go up, the more miles I get on her. As of today, 6-25-13, I have just under 20k on the SpynTec kit and just under 189,000 on MightyWhitey. I wasn't driving for "mileage" either!!Should've done the "free-spin" thing years ago!!
  22. They back-tracked via dead family members graves.
  23. That is so funny Russ!!!! Not on your part though.I'm sure the Mrs. said, "I put the marker thingy thing right back in the general area where I pulled it from."Yeah, right!!!!:cool:Been there and have heard that numerous times before. What if'n; "we men" were so "casual" about "general vs. specifis" areas when it comes to women???!! Do y'all think they'd understand then??!!!:2cents:Probably not................what the H E double hockey sticks was I thinking!!!?????:duh:Wait; I was thinking.....................not feeling......................so I'm right.....................even though in her mind I'm still wrong!!!!!!!!:banghead:
  24. x2 to all of the above!! Of the many trips I've made to NoDak; I can truly say this...................The wind is always in my face........... the sun is always in my eyes...................my truck is always uphill from where I left it..........................it's always seems hotter than it is....................and not as cold as it feels.................dry heat and dry cold unless your waders leak....................wet mud, clay, gravel roads are slicker than ice covered blacktop.....................as long as you're not from Minnesota, the locals love you.......................a poor day duck hunting there often equates to a good day duck hunting in other states............................the locals only have 3 spices they use in their cooking; salt, pepper and ketchup..............................they despise "sotans", but love the Minnesota Vikings........................the NoDak women are as big, if not bigger, than the NoDak men.........................lot's of 1st and 2nd gen Dodge/Cummins still pulling round bale wagons out of the fields and down the gravel roads...................................more to add as I think of them!!! I really love NoDak!!!!! Save for the "larger than average" women and the limited spices in their cooking!!!!
  25. IIRC, Glock "only" recommends shooting copper jacketed bullets in their pistols!!:2cents:2 G19's here with 124gr Gold Dots.
