  1. They can be replaced but finding a good one is the hard part, t&b claim to have new ones but I suspicious due to the flack they stoped making them in 2005,
  2. Ok guys has any one bought Rom t&b transmission they claim o have good bell housings for the 5600
  3. Well let's see with the parts I need for the 5600 plus what I t on the 5600 to begin with 2in in it $5000 drive shafts would be my biggest issue, but I've not given up on the 5600 just yet, just considering possibilitys, first I have to see if I can source a bell housing first thing, if I t source that at a reasonable price then I have to look at other alternative ppssibilitys, and yea I could have the bell housing welded and machined but it'll be a littl pricy around here and if cost keeps rising the 4500 would make more sence
  4. Well i get that they all have weakness, but dang the 10speed eaton don't even have gears pressed on that tight, my biggest issue is do I want to put that Much money in to it again
  5. Now also due to the dumb asses that designed the trans I have to replace one of the counter gears cause it chipped during pressing the innessarly over tight gears
  6. True how ever much cheaper to work on
  7. Yes I know but truck will stay mostly stock and I'm tired of fighting this 5600 I've done got 3600 in this thing
  8. I'm sorta beginning to wonder if it'd be cheaper to swap in a nv4500
  9. I'm just not sure it worth trying to fix I'll end up with as much as I had in the replacement trans to begin with
  10. Well guys got back on the trans today and found its not really worth building. Found the input shaft hole in the bell housing worn out, rthe race just falls out and cpp had glued the race in with sealer, also found th st the main shaft where the rear bearing sits had had a bearing failure and welded a old bearing on the shaft and cpp had cut the old bearing off with a torch and cut in to the shaft and didn't clean it up, also found that there are several syncr slider rings slap worn out
  11. Yea he builds a lot of them look as to do a pretty good job, there not that complicatedyou just have to pay attention and be clean, and build it right, and make sure the parts are not worn out which apparently cpp don't do
  12. Yeap this trans was less than a month out of warranty when failed and I like to never got a hold of them and all they said was too bad, I could ship it to them and pay for the repair, heck no I'll not sends it to them I'll fix it right well hope full if the main case and gears aren't trash, cpp is a crook company
  13. Please be sure to read up on them and make sure there a good company, I'm hoping to find that mine can be built and if So I'm going to do it, I'm very ocd about something being done right, well I'm a mechanic for a living and have to be and after being burned like this I'd have a hard time trusting anyone else, This is what I found under thef tail housing
  14. Ill get pics up as soon as i can there on my wifes phone, im planning on rebuilding my self this time using parts from allstategear, if its worth it, over still got a split the main case I ran out a time before I gat that far
  15. Becareful who you let build your nv5600 sence mine failed I've manage to get it pulled out, had metal in the oil, pulled the tail housing and found that unit was built with worn out parts, the main shaft nut was put on with a chisel and almost broked and not tight, this unit came from cummins performance parts i got took dont let this happen to you
  16. Well i pulled the shift tower today with the few min I had and well that didn't show much I could see the oil and it looks to maby have some metallic in it but won't be sure till I drain it
  17. 5600 parts are very hard to get if u want oem as for me I'm hoping it'll only be bearings but well see
  18. I'm planning on building it my self I was just C ourious if there was a common thing that builders were failing to do
  19. Will do as soon as I can get the vw out a the shop
  20. I'm running Pennzoil syncromesh, I'm wondering if they could have forgot something in there or set the tolerances wrong
  21. Im pretty sure its a bearing failure its making a squalling noise with excessive grinding in 5th and 6th the the shifter will about vibrate ur arm off, I'm running 7qt oil, it doesn't have coolers, I've only pulled one 6k load and don't put a load on 6th gear if a can't cruise above 1800rpm on flat strait roads I don't use 6th
  22. Well guys my keeping a eye on the nv5600 didn't work it failed after only 10k, so my question is what are s one of the common mistakes company's make rebuilding these I'm just sorta curious what they could of screwed up
  23. Thanks for the input but I haven't got to mess with that I've had a bigger issue going on
  24. Sure ain't I ain't even got it paid for yet
  25. Ok guys finally got a hold of cpp there transmissions are rebuilt buy some one else, also they said it its just over a month out of warranty that they can not help me, so just a little advice don't use them, there hard to get a hold of, the don't stand by what they sell, and apparently the company they have build there stuff is not much good at it..........and yes it will come out for full tear down and rebuild I'm montering it hoping to make it till spring
