Track bar
The 1/2 in off is with a 2in leveling kit in good stock 2gen track bar. I need a 3rb gen set up but can't afford the 500 bucks right now

New guy here and a high mile vp44...stock lift pump
Pressures need to be above 14 at all times to keep the VP happy any thing below that is too low. But I think one key to vps lasting with stock LP is how its drove. The VP is cooled and lubed buy the fuel, so if the LP is flowing fuel even at low pressures but you drive it hard the VP is using that fuel which provides cooling and lube but as soon as you let off the throttle the VP isnt using the fuel so now with the low pressures the fuel just sits there and heats up and looses its lubrication. However with a lift pump such as fast or eqivelent this what if situation is resolved because it provides enough pressure to keep the fuel moving no mater what which keeps the VP happy no matter how its drove

Track bar
Well measured the front and with the leveling kit it is about 1\2 in off center

Cold fuel knock
Sorry it took so long to get back. I checked the iat and ect sensors they are reading the same after setting for the night so I don't see this being the issue

Motor mount incerts
OK after researching I can't find full replacement mounts endless I get aftermarket performance mounts and that is very pricy and over kill for my truck, I'm thinking of trying the polyurethane inserts, I've used these on my small car and had good results, when I get to do them I'll do a write up on it
-
Motor mount incerts
I've been shopping for them when I find them I'll do a write up on replacing them

Black smoke, then gray/whiteish?
The gray whiteish smoke means ur actually efeciantly burning the fuel, black smoke means running rich, mine in stock form will smoke some black when getting in it till the turbo spools then turns gray whiteish its normal as long as its not blueish
-
Motor mount incerts
Its the trans shifter and it doesn't move up it twists to the side
-
Motor mount incerts
I can see the shifter move about 4 to 5 in when it spools up, I know some movement is normal but that seems excessive. And I have checked all bolts . But could just stick a friend under the hood while driving to watch
-
Motor mount incerts
I can tell when I get in it that it moves more than it use to, I also looked at the motor mounts and can see where they are sagging also see excessive cracking in the trans mount rubber
-
Nothing to worry about?
Nothing to worry about. The older cat motors were the worst for this and dripped a lot of oil. Its the nature of a diesel
-
Motor mount incerts
Has any one used the polyurethane motor mount inserts? Are thay worth it I'm starting to get more motor movement but after 16 years I figure the mount rubber is getting tired as well as the trans mount

Track bar
I'll have measure for sure now, I run a leveling kit cause all I tow is bloats

Track bar
Many I would measure from frame to wheel on each side, guess I just answered my own question
-
Track bar
Many I didn't word it right my track bar is good what I'm wanting to know is do I need a adjustable bar with the 2in leveling kit? I had been seeing post saying if any thing above stock I need one or my front Axel won't be centered and if this is so around here they won't do a alignment
-
Track bar
No looseness just don't want the Axel uncenterd shops around here won't align if anything out a sort, there just to lazy to work around it,
-
Track bar
OK 5 years ago I installed a 2in leveling kit I had asked on here if it would mess with any thing and I was told no. However I've been seeing on here that in fact I need a adjustable track bar is this true? I need a alignment and will this mess with it? Thanks guys

Cold fuel knock
Humm looks like I need to get to testing some things. I'll get those iat and ect reading soon and need to test my stock fuel heater and check my grid heaters
-
Cold fuel knock
After reading that it makes me wonder could my fass cause this I'm running the stock filter housing with the heater but could the extra flow push more fuel than the heater can heat when cold and the VP sense colder than normal fuel a advance the timing to far
-
Cold fuel knock
? I learn sumn new everyday
-
Cold fuel knock
OK I under the impression the VP was limited by the ecm endless tapped guess that's what I get for over thinking it?
-
Cold fuel knock
I hadn't thought about the VP being able to take timing that far
-
Cold fuel knock
OK I will get you that reading asap but I'm out of town till tomorrow and my scan tool is at home

Cold fuel knock
OK guys I may just paranoid but I seem to have a excessive fuel knock until at operating temp, I know its gonna be noisy when cold its a Cummins with 197k on it but this knock seems to come in recently, could this be dirty injectors or just over thinking it
