  1. The Lubricity Study .... link in post #11 Is not to be believed? Your thoughts please ...
  2. My son's 'Townsman' (4-door stationwagon) will be getting a transplant soon. Dodge 440/auto from a '76? motorhome. The 440 is a front sump setup, but it looks like the Dodge chunk will fit quite nicely once we get the back sump/pickup installed. Any of you guys done a swap like this? Was looking for commercial motor mounts, but may end up making them. The 'bowtie' purists can have a nice day!
  3. A month ago, I had to punch some 90-110ft fir that were all loaded the wrong way.....there were five stems. These stems were 7ft + ....... three of them were loaded 180 degrees, and two were at 90 degrees. Falling stuff like that is fairly straightforward, but a little dicey......Was using one of my son's hotrod 2100 Husqvarna's. These are great saws, although a little outdated. They have great chain speed, and you can get yourself out of a mess with them. The kid uses a 34" bar, with 404 pitch skip-tooth......To punch a stem that is loaded 180 degrees from where you want it.....you put your back cut in first, bury the bar, and just as soon as you are able, start pounding wedges behind you. You want three at least. When your wedged up, pull your saw, and put in your undercut. A clean undercut! Now the fun starts! Slide your saw into the wedged back cut, and start pounding wedges, as you slowly inch deeper into the stem....Look up, and see the top move in the way that you want the stem to drop. Each hit on the wedge, you will see the top move.....you can move a top 6ft or more sometimes.....when the stem is loaded the way you want.......finish the backcut.......you want good hinge wood for this type of falling.
  4. Was looking at your stump......(loggers do that)....and wondering.....'that's a very unique under-cut' We cut big wood on the coast.........Husqvarna:lol:
  5. Has been wet and cold here on the west coast (Canada)Insured both motorcycles yesterday....... never been this late in the year before.Need some heat here...... trade ya'
  6. Also bought a '72 Cuda ..... only 'new' vehicle I've ever had. Torrid Red (orange), with black interior. Factory Hurst pistol grip 4-speed. This was the first year that the compression ratio was dropped to 8.5:1 from 10:1 ... 340, AFB, dual exhaust. First ChryCo was a '50 Fargo flat deck 'duellie' ..... flathead 6, with a split exhaust manifold ..... wish it were still mine! My Dad had a '67 Barracuda (non fast-back) also .....
  7. Thanks to all ..... much appreciated!
  8. Did a search and came up empty ....Is there a 'sticky' somewhere for torque values for 2nd Gen trucks?Wheel lugs, head bolt/studs, etc. etc.In my case, thermostat housing bolts .... what torque? Thanks, Greg
  9. Just had mine done ..... the original ChryCo fabric apparently is not available anymore. Cost was $150.- for the drivers side. Upholsterer used a darker panel on both sides of the seat, and a very firm foam. It blends in well and doesn't kill my old back anymore. Good luck ..... Greg
  10. Heavy Equipment Operator ...... British Columbia logging industry ...... mud, dust, fog, diesel fuel, scorching heat and fire. Sometimes... vast amounts of money.
  11. Interesting project, looking forward to seeing more of it ......
  12. With a 1st Gen ....... not too many abbreviations, electronics, etc. Relatively simple ...... like the guys/gals that drive them ... me included!
  13. There are many abbreviations in reference to our Dodge trucks.....some of them are familiar, many are not.Did a search, and didn't find a 'list' .....Would members elaborate on some of the abbreviations ....... thank you, GregBHAF ... big honkin' air filter
  14. Hi Mike.....it sounds like an injector problem. The stock Bosch injectors get a little tired. Had mine re/re'd at 320k, and they have been good.....at 485k now. One thing that really cleans up the mileage and makes my 12V run like it should ....... heavy dose of good quality lube/injector cleaner, about 800lbs of load, and a heavy throttle on a run to Prince George from my home in Ladysmith, B.C.Congrats on the '93 First Gen ....... they have an un-subtle charm......Greg
  15. Just completed the vent modification ...... thanks for the info on good fix, much appreciated! Greg
  16. Your thought process is working well.......I've done much the same thing with my '91.5 W250 ...... it still looks good, has decent up-grades, and after all these years - is a 'hoot' to drive. I get asked if it is for sale very often .......
  17. Are any of you running one of these clutchs? Pro's and con's .... any info/feedback welcome, thank you, Greg
  18. Stopped in at the Dodge dealership in Nanaimo, B.C. this afternoon. They did a print-out of the factory build sheet, and all the equipment and codes from the VIN for my 'new to me' 2nd Gen.Was nicely suprised at the amount of options........
  19. Thank you Stodg and Michael......much appreciated!
  20. The Equipment Identification tag on the inside of the glove box on my '02 Dodge is faded and un-readable.Question; Would the Dodge dealer be able to find out what options/equipment I have by the VIN? ... any ideas? ... thank you, Greg
