I have a small leak on injector line #6 rite where it connects to the injector tube. It looks like the threads are leaking a small amout. But enough that when it sits for a bit it usually doesnt start first time. Like it has to prime itself again, but starts no problem an runs fine after that. Im looking to replace the line soon. Just wondering if anyone has tried some thread sealer tape to quick fix the problem?! Just wondering if its worth the time to do the quick fix or if it even works

My truck has had a random skipping idle with rpms jumping up and down slightly on tach. It skips at any rpm range and very noticeable. I recently upgraded the injection pump because of the computer issues. This didn't help it out at all. I have checked fuel pressure and checked for air in supply to pump. It seemed to have started when i upgraded my injectors to 40hp injectors. I have replaced all seals on injectors and tubes. I did scratch a couple tubes. I did bleed air from every line at head. I don't know if the tubes being scratched would cause this bad of an idle? I can firmly say that from the lift pump to the injection pump is good. Im thinking it is down to connector tubes, injectors or valve guides/seals? I would be surprised if the new injectors would cause this though assuming they were pop tested and have new parts to them. Also the blue smoke is excessive during start up and will last for about 5 minutes before clearing up. It doesn't sound much like a miss (Like loosening line at head), but it doesn't seem to be firing consistently. Could an internal leak in the head (i.e., connector tubes) cause a weird idle? Truck starts great every time. Seems to drive alright. What do you think?

Pretty informative video, Cummins Injector Testing.

Hey guys, I continue my seach for more MPG and so I called my local diesel shop and asked about prices on Bosch RV275 injectors. They told me that there is no such thing as a "Bosch" RV275. He said that it is an injector that someone has EDM's the nozzle on, AND he said that by doing this it hurts the life cyle of the injector. Questions: Is he right???, and should I care? I have heard good things about the RV275, but do I need to be concerned about it not lastin very long aka wearing out? Ultimately, can I expect any mileage gains out of them? Thanks. 2000 CTD, FASS95, RSD Straight 5", Quad XTZ+ (beta tune), NV5600, FP Gauge

I have no clue what this is? I am trying to learn the truck and everything about it. It appears the fuel system has 3 return lines. One from the CP3, One from Rail, and one from Fuel Drain manifold which all combine into one.

Thinking about attempting to rebuild my injectors. Possibly trying to increase the power output a little in the process. Can't seem to find any good info on how to go about doing this. Biggest problem I think will be parts for them if needed. Any ideas?

I have been wanting to do some reworking of my return line setup (stock 12V setup) and it's just a little weird. Now my question is, do the 24V's have the return for the injectors going straight back to the tank or do they somehow end up back in the inlet side of the VP44? I don't even remember seeing any return line things on the 24V injectors so did I miss something or what? The 12V engine dumps the injector return fuel straight into the fuel filter, so the whole return line setup remains at inlet side pressures. The only return line that has no pressure (goes to the tank) is the one on the P7100 that dumps excess fuel from the lift pump. Basically I want to get rid of the injector returns going to the fuel filter and dump them straight to the tank instead, but don't know if it will cause any issues since they supposedly need that inlet pressure for some reason, though the 24V uses the same injectors (with different top part) thus getting to my question above.
