Went on a road trip to Yellowstone this month. It took me 2½ days to drive from SoCal to the Fishing Bridge campground, about 1,100 mi. Stayed 5 days taking in the sights and probably could have stayed another 5 if I had the time. There is so much to see and the people working the visitor centers, stores, and campground were as nice as could be. I think that was because we got there the 8th of May which was the first day the park was open for the summer season. There were no crowds and the help wasn't burned out.

We went out the south entrance and right into the Grand Teton National Park. Another gem in our National Park catalog. The valley is flat and wide and offers great hiking and bike trails. The view of the Teton range jutting up out of the valley with the lakes in front no picture can do it justice. After a few days of that it was on the road again. I wanted to take the back roads down to Zion UT but my wife said she had enough of sitting in that truck and wanted to get home. We route 89ed it out of Jackson WY to Interstate 15s driving through Salt Lake City at rush hour and stopped at a campground in Provo UT.

This is were I noticed all most every truck towing something was a Dodge. Thinking back on it even in Yellowstone the majority of tow vehicles were Dodge.

Any way, next day drove by the exit for Zion National Park, my wife wanted no part of it this trip and said "we'll see it next time we go to Vegas". I manged to get into Las Vegas for the evening rush hour, I just could not win. We spent the night in the parking lot of the Gold Strike Casino (don't go there) in Jean, NV then home the next day. The total miles drove 2,992.6, total pictures taken 3,370.

Now that my wife is rested she's talking about planing a trip to Rhode Island. I did that trip 20 years ago, I don't know about now.

I really like the picture of your truck in between the sign! Yellowstone and the Tetons are some of the most beautiful country the US has to offer and something everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime. We were there the year before it burned down, my step father was up there a few years after on a snowmobiling trip and said the parts that burned werent even recognizable. We are headed to Wyoming this summer to visit family and Yellowstone is at the top of the list. It will be a first for my wife and the boys.

I'm glad you went there before the crowds. It makes all the difference.

My wife's gotten the same way, says being in the truck for just a couple days is too much. Me... I think I could almost drive my truck for days on end. I love to travel camp thru back roads and only 300 miles a day. In before dark with time to relax.

Thank you for the pictures, they are great.
