Yep it was time to replace the ujoint

I have been having a new clunk for a week or so now, old clunk is still there and will always be there.  I figured it was a ujoint.

 

Well it was, the rear most joint

 

 

Good thing I didn't hook up the horse trailer for this weekend yet

I replaced it ~2 years ago......I am a little butt hurt about that, but I replaced it after stabbing in a new trans using a floor jack and some plywood so I wasn't in the best of moods.  I am sure I might have used too much hammer and not enough love.

That puts my one bad front one to shame. One cup was dry and empty and another dry with bearing crumbs.

The roofing hammer is love, the trust 4# is....tough love

Unless you are a front wheel bearing. Then a 5# hammer is legal.

Me78569, I see the problem.....  There's supposed to be needle bearings in there.  I cant seem to spot any in that picture.

Not one needle bearing came out of those 2 ends...... I was amazed.

I honestly don't remember.

 

No markings on the joint.  I know it wasn't spicer due to the way the groves are in the end caps.

I remember when I did it I originally got the smaller joint and had to go back for whatever they had.

I suppose Chinese vehicles wear out about as fast as Chinese parts so the inferior materials aren't a big deal on Chinese cars

Maybe they just make their own stuff better.....

We wouldn't really be able to comment on that as there are no widely used Chinese vehicles on american roads.

No no you're %100 right about Chinese junk, but I have no idea if the cars they produce for their own use are worth a darn.

 

I would guess not but I dunno.
