A few months ago I noticed a small amount of oil on the ground and traced it to the vacuum pump/ PS pump are and resealed both pumps. Went a while without seeing any more oil until tonight I pulled the truck into the shop and an hr later noticed a 3 in dia puddle. It looks like it is either coming from vacc pump or front main or timing cover. The front half of he truck is plastered with oil which is very disturbing to me. ( no more rust is a + side lol) Cleaned up things good with brake cleaner and we will see what happens. Any idea why the pump would leak again so soon? Look like it’s possibly coming from where the pump mounts to the gear case. Really hoping I don’t have to put a front main or gear case seal on....

Been a long time since I did this, so don't take this as gospel, but the seal goes in with the open side facing you as you install, opposite what you would normally think. If that make sense. Hollow side towards Vac pump, solid side toward Steering pump.

How is your tappet cover gasket? That thing can leak and spread oil every where. The front seal and timing cover is not a terrible job to do, much better than the rear seal unless you pulling trannys.

It’s all underneath so I doubt it’s the valve cover casket. Not sure why you mean by hollow side ox? Pics?

I was apeaking of the "tappet" cover or push rod galley on the side of the engine. It runs from behind the VP to the rear of the block.

Possibly twisted/ bent during the two times that I pulled the pump? It could also be coming from the fitting that connects to the pump which I will take a closer look at tomorrow...

Got to be nice with these hoses even if they are stainless steel braid. If it's in my way to fully remove the entire hose from the engine. Then when I reinstall I put it right back with the same curve in the same position again not to flex on the hose too much. This includes the turbo supply line too.
