I did block line from the compressor cover to the waste gate actuator and on a small pull in 4th gear I saw about 30 psi, and the truck felt like it had a lot more power. The egt seemed slightly lower on my way to work about 30 miles from home. I wasn’t able to push it very hard because of the roads being wet as it has been raining all day. I will put the camper on it this weekend and see how it acts.

Sounds like this might be a weak wastegate motor spring or no boost elbow. There was a post about guys ditching the wastegate motor all together and just using a spring to hold the wastegate shut. If done right using a bolt with an eyelet and the right amount of spring tension you can control the boost pressure on that turbo by tightening or lossening the spring tension. The drive pressure will build enough to naturally push the wastegate open.

Go to be added. I've got a China made boost controller for the wastegate. I know @IBMobile is using the same as me. The old school boost controller is a brass elbow with a set screw for adjusting how much pressure makes it to the wastegate.

also from what calibrated says its a 64/67/9. Or 63/67/12...  The video on their website says 63/67/12.. The product description is vague as hell too, but does mention a 9cm^2 housing..

I’m certain this one is the 9cm housing, it looks tiny compared to the other turbo. I did find that turbo lab of America makes a 67mm turbine upgrade for the hx35 with a new housing I am going to speak with them about it to see if it would work for my application. 
 

With the waste gate line pinched off completely I could only make about 28 pounds of boost today on my way home from work. The egt seemed about the same, but it’s hard to keep track of so many things at once plus drive the truck.

Maybe I missed it, but what IS your application, as far as intended use of the truck? If your Jacobs brake bolts up to the HX35 like a PacBrake, then the HE351W would also work. Cheap at Benzforce.com. BlueOx01 is a hot shot driver and likes that turbo a lot. People more knowledgeable than me say it's similar to an HX35/40 hybrid, but modern.

I use the truck to haul a water tank, tow my camper, and daily drive. Towing performance without having to stare at the pyrometer is my main goal. 
 

The Jacobs brake replaces the 5 bolt flange adapter that is outlet of the hx35, it’s not a v band or similar connection like an inline brake.

Okay, so it would bolt onto the HE351W. BlueOx01 uses his dually as a hotshot driver, as I understand it, so if he's very happy with the turbo I'm his application, I imagine most would be happy with it towing, too. Especially if coming from an HX35. I have one, too, and think it's great for daily driving.

He351w is different than the he351cw from a later 3rd gen. (Same wheel sizes/not true after digging up @LorenS's thread. He341 compressor wheel with he351cw turbine) but 12cm^2 exhaust housing with 5 bolt flange instead of the he351cw flange.  

 

 

What are you running for tunes with the quad? At full spool at max level are you seeing a slight hazy trail of smoke? 

 

Also because i have to do this as well.. have you checked for boost leaks? I know it takes a large amount to cause this amount of boost loss but it doesnt hurt to check

Those are similar to what my truck likes. Need a bit more and faster timing pull with timing reduct and scaling, Especially with a larger turbo. The cruse is whats best for your truck, i have 4.10s so i have to add a lot of timing to my truck to get good mpgs and low egts on the highway.

I would think that setting the Low PSI Timing Reduct to 5⁰ vs. 2⁰ should more than make up for starting the timing table at 15⁰ vs. 13⁰. That's what it is for, right, to retard timing to spool the turbo?
