You can always tell when you get into kansas or nebraska; your steering wheel goes from perfectly level to 90* out of level to maintain a straight course as the straight line winds push you.  Going under an overpass where the wind stops for a second is always interesting.  I watched an ecoboost pulling a big TT doing 80 almost wreck after going under an overpass.

Our big sign out by the road for my store was ripped apart yesterday in our wind blasts. We also had some hard snow yesterday to go right along with it. They actually closed Hwy 2 and I-29 and that is pretty crazy considering they are flat and straight highways for the most part. I dont know what our recorded wind gusts were but it was not fun being outside. There were times I couldnt see the buildings right across the street!!!

:lmao:ISX......    "an  ecoboost  running  80  pulling  a   TT??         He  Must've    been  GOING  WITH THE  WIND! :lmao:

I've no doubt that the "ecoboost" can pull it.  My cousin has one, and it's really impressive empty.  But can it pull a TT or car-hauler uphill both ways??????  A 3.5L turbo gasser…………..I have my doubts;  especially long term towing doubts.   Remember this axiom………………"There's no replacement for displacement."

yah,   my  no-good-son-in-law   bought one  this fall.      He's  always  talking up  the great  fuel economy,  and   how   impressive  it's power is...  evidence   he  leaves  on  the  highway  (peel-out rubber)   every time  he visits us...  grrrr.

( "come on,  let me take ya for a ride!  I'll show you  just how  fast this thing really is'')     *Pass,   I don't want to have to walk home*

I also  know  a  Ford service  guy,    he   says   they've been  getting all the hours  they  wish   ever since  the  ecoboost    been   introduced!

The "Eco-Boost" is not only in the pickups.  The same technology (for lack of a better word) is into the passenger cars also.  I really like the idea, but it's still a Ford in the end…………………………….and on the shoulder.

I have a new reason to hate fords now, too.. Henry Ford supported the NAZIS! :spank:

Alot of people supported the National Socialist party(Nazis). Time magazine voted him Man of the Year in 1938. He brought Germany out of the depression like FDR did for the US. Not trying to defend the ba$t&%d, its just history.

Darn, off topic again, sorry.

Can't forget about his early sketches of what would eventually become the Beetle either, or "The Peoples Car". At a time where only the wealthy owned automobiles, Hitler envisioned a car for the common man. I believe he turned his original plans over to Diamler Benz.

He was a very intelligent man, its a shame he used it to manipulate millions of innocent people.

I wouldnt bash on ford to hard either. They brought us the world of the automobile that we know today. As a personal preference, I havent seen another car mfg produce a vehicle that could last nearly as long as a ford does, apart from toyota maybe. Heck, I had a bone stock 1986 Ford ranger with the 2.6 V6 and 5 speed and apart from regular maintenance that thing went forever!!! i finally lost a head gasket at 365,XXX. Picked up a free motor out of a wrecked bronco II and now my brother has put another 65,XXX on it!!!! All of the work trucks at my old store were ford gassers and all had well over 300,XXX on them with nothing more than regular maintenance into them. All still drove nice and made decent mileage too!!

Ok im off my :soap:  now. Let the beatings begin!!! :sofa:
