Wow...We Massachusetts voters finally got something right.

After decades of voting against (and losing to) the liberal majority here in Massachusetts, today's election gave me a small fraction of hope. I never in my wildest dreams would have believed a Republican would win Ted Kennedy's senate seat. We haven't had a Republican senator in more than 30 years. On Sunday, Barry Obama came here to support the Democrat candidate. He made fun of Republican Scott Brown because he drives a pickup truck with over 200,000 miles on it. Talk about Obama being out of touch with the average American. Brown said in his acceptance speech, which of course CNN didn't cover, that he draws the line when someone makes fun of his truck. I'm not big on political threads, but this victory gives the Republicans the right to filibuster and for a brief moment makes me proud to live in Massachusetts. I'm sure tomorrow the State Senate will pass some new tax that will destroy all hope I might of had.

I am not a big fan of people who think anything over 100k is worn out, yet I know all too many of those kind. If he can make his truck last, then I think that shows he will make long lasting decisions, rather than spur of the moment ones. People who only go 100k before trading things in do not know how to take care of things. I personally do not have any worries about my truck going another 200k. Then I might need a new clutch, and go another 200k :lol3: If Obama really made fun of him because of his truck, I've lost all respect for him, not that I had much for him but it just tells me how ignorant our president is.

I think Obama should move to Haiti, he would be more appreciated there, and congrats on a Senator that is not a Democrat on the East coast. Too bad he is not a Libertarian, but amazing to see it go to any one but a true liberal. I can bet Teddy is punching and kicking the lid on his coffin. LOLHere is a few more laughs, or groans?

Love the cartoons. The big problem we have here is apathy. In reality, liberals are probably not in the majority if you took a poll of all Massachusetts residents. It's just that the liberals are way more politically active. The average Joe doesn't actually follow the issues closely. But eventually, enough is enough and moderates and conservatives come out of the wood work to vote. Raise taxes enough and we elect Mitt Romney as Governor. Allow congressional spending to get out of control and we replace Ted Kennedy with a Republican. I had a lady in line in front of me at the polls who looked to be in her 40's and said she had never voted before. If we could get the average (working) voter to vote at every election, we could turn this state around and bring businesses back.

Apparently driving a pickup is racist. This is an interview Olbermann did with Howard Fineman (Newsweek's chief Washington correspondent). At about 1 minute in Fineman says "I think for most of the American people race is no respect a part of the equation. Maybe not in Massachusetts but maybe in some places there are codes, there are images, there are pick-up trucks. You can say there's a racial aspect --"

Yup...Newsweek...another quality liberal publication.

Can't wait till us here in California to vote out Boxer and Finestine. Here in Central Calif, we are moderates and conservatives believe it or not, but we have so many screwed up thinkers in the coastal areas that its gone crazy . Smog laws for Diesels come on. Sorry people but you might be next. So many people have left here because of the craziness. There is a ballot out for us to split the state down the middle, north to south, so the Libs can keep doing what they do best take freedom away, and we can use the water (they took away for a 2" fish called a Smelt) to plant the crops, make jobs & feed the world. What Goverment is today is not what our founder that it would become.

Getting into this a bit late but after the speech last night where there were at least 30 out-right lies told by "our leader" its really time for a change.

MASS really did get it right but frankly feel that we need to vote all of them out of office and start over. New Jersey and Virginia started it, and Mass just confirmed it. 2010 will be a very interesting year in the elections.

As well we need term limits and all legislators need to have the same health care and retirement that WE the taxpayers have. Until then there will be no reform. Oh yea, lets get rid of about 80% of the lawyers around here...

Hopefully Illinois will follow!!!! We've got primary elections next week. Then in March the SCOTUS is hearing arguments in the McDonald vs. Chicago case regarding handguns. Similar to the Heller case in DC. From my research, I don't think Chicago can win!!!!

Feel sorry for you guys in that state. Frigging Daily and his minions run the place and nothing sane nor normal will happen there. We stopped coming to Chicago after Daily illegally bulldozed the runway at Meigs Airport. Of course the feds did nothing. He should be in jail after that. Glad that here in AZ we have both CCW and open carry. FT

michael medved covered the Massachusetts race and the pitiful speach made by his opponent all about herself.Hope CA goes and redistricts so that the republicans and democrats are not so "SAFE" in their areas. It would make them more accountable and give the republicans a chance to compete.BTW heard Jerry Brown was going to run for governor again. If he gets in it might be time to move for sure.

Well...Scott Brown got sworn in today. Obviously the Obama administration did not get the message because they just raised the debt ceiling to 14.3 trillion. The highest ever. The really sad part is they passed the new limit as part of the so-called "PAYGO" rule bill which requires Congress to pay for all tax cuts or programs it creates so they are budget neutral. So... they passed a law saying they can't acquire new debt and raised the debt ceiling in the same bill. If it wasn't so sad it would be funny.
