COLD

Wow, typically, winter by winter, we don't get lower than -10 as the most extreme. Even then, usually lasts only a few days at the most.

The area has been very cold here recently like I said before. Air is very dry. Should start warming up back into the 20's here by tomorrow or so. Been fretting about my bees! Went out and could hear them buzzing to stay warm. Atleast I know they are alive! Lost some of the outer cluster, but still sounds like a little 2-stroke idling along!

Well, the forecast here is for 16* tomorrow (Saturday), low of -11* high Sunday of -7* and a low of -25* sunday night..... Gonna be chilly for a week or so. Glad I don't have anywhere I need to go for a while!

Ekk... you get cold Tom. Are you close to your 100*F offset from inside to outside?

The MOST offset I have ever seen at my house was 110*, but yea, 80*+ is not out of the norm..... And people wonder why we have the air conditioning on in 80* weather.......

I know what you mean! I'm itching to see spring! As I speak, its around the freezing mark and we are getting dumped on with snow! Cumulatively, we probably have about 2'. Its still snowing hard. Within 30 minutes time of shoveling the walkway, I've already got probably 2 inches!

Atleast it will help warm things back up a bit...

.... starting to   look very very  similar to the  winter of   '48-'49  around here.      It's been snowing  a little  every other day,  and  the dang wind  has never stopped.     See the sun for   a few hours  every  3-4 days.

Snow is  now  belly deep  on my cows...   with   a possible   3+  months  to go..

My  Lucas   fuel treatment  experiment  went  south  last weekend.     Now running   blended   #1  at   least    60%   of the mix.

Last week the low was 36°, today the high hit 86°. Had long paints on and was sweating my ars off.

Where was it 86!

It was like 10F here today.  Supposed to be 0 Wednesday.  I work inside, drive a gasser..so I don't care about the weather anymore.  Though my shift boot gets so hard under 10F that it comes out of the bezel as if it was completely stiff.  Crank the heat up and carry on.  I could use a heated steering wheel though.  Be a while before I reach that kind of luxury.  Though 86F sounds a little too privileged haha

Hee Hee Hee.....................and people think its cold in ND, was a balmy +2 overnight last night here.

A few years ago we went to Fl. in December, got off the plane in Orlando to be met by 38* temps exactly the same as when we got on in Bismarck. Even this last trip we saw temps in the 40's & 50's  and windy the last few days there, was warmer in ND than Fl for a few days in November.

Gotta love Hawaii, 75-80 year round not much variance.

MMMMMM, I love to eat crow. :ahhh:

Just remember that the Wm Keck Observatory is at 13,600 feet in elevation, but the other temps were real cold for there! It is supposed to get to about -20* here tonight with wind chills from -35* to -50* tonight. I bet that would make them Islanders feel cold!

Rancherman, you getting any of that storm that is supposed to go just south of me?

Only the wind part.. very little recent additional snow. We are about 12 inches on the flats, and 4-5 foot drifts since ~ mid December. Wind has not stopped blowing for 2 weeks now...

BTW, is Alaska having another warm winter??

-5*F at my humble little dump when I got up this morning.  Got up to 0*F around 1:00PM and so now dropping.  -2*F as I type this at 3:30PM local time.  The weather idiots are calling for -10*F in Chitcago.............which should mean -15*F or lower up by me.  The killer right now around me is that Lake Michigan is still mostly open water as are the couple rivers near me.  Damp, damp, damp, coupled with this cold and wind makes it's BRUTAL!!!

I kniw how that is. Lake Superior is wide open yet too. Actually, I am glad of that too. If it was froze over by now it would have made last year seem balmy!

Heck got up this morning to a nice cool 35*F. Then packed up and headed for Ontario, OR by the time I hit New Meadows, ID (City Of) the temperature was a nice cold 17*F. It hovered in the 20's all the way down to Ontario, OR this morning. Get back home and the weather center on my desk shows we had a high of 40*F and low of 35*F. Like I said I live in a fold of the mountains so the weather is much different in the narrow little crack in the ground.
