I have a new proto type with custom circuit boards so I don't have to worry about a big mess of wires and components moving around and causing problems. I can move on to working out more of the code. My tune tables need some work and I need to build an ECU to operate my guage cluster and OBD2 port. Got my transmission signal working pretty good. I need to make a TPS calibration routine. Here's a new video of it running.

So I have a blue chip diesel Premium VP44 in the truck, last time I drove it it felt worse then my old with 300k or something on it.. Much slower... So I was curious, you can add like 7x13 injectors and pick up added reliability out of the vp itself by detuning it so it works less hard... but I heard that 7x10's are the max size injector you should go with for towing heavy. So I'm curious what it is in a 8 hole? And HP deferences. That said there are Turbonators for VGT S300'S, any idea how much you can pickup on these trucks with one of those? Like fuel only numbers? + upsize in turbo with the VGT? I heard it's like the old s364 before…

Well, after a lot of reading and a conversation with Mike, more timing should lower EGT and engine load, however when I added timing my load and EGTs went up. Before I got to the numbers he thought would work, engine started to buck, sign of over advance. When I backed off the timing both across the RPM band and cruise things got better. This led me to a thread Mike wrote about in the winter he pulled timing out due to higher cetane numbers in winter fuel. This makes sense, but got me thinking about the fuel our trucks were designed to run with, which was not ultra low sulfer biodiesel fuel, so I started digging. Per NDSU AE 1240 No. 2 diesel fuel u…

So I had lots of very hot weather to test the VP44 project. On a 103 degree day the controller hit 175 sitting in traffic with AC on and 120s while moving along. No problems it never missed a beat I'm happy about that I was a bit worried. I got one of those piezoelectric sensors that clamps around the injection line and had to build something called a charge amplifier and insulate it from ground and use a shielded cable to get rid of all the noise so I could see anything reasonable. Timing wise things didn't add up. I finally got frustrated and pulled #1 injector and used a dial pointer to mark TDC and made a pointer mounted to an oil pan bolt. …

Just got my Quad, and have a few questions, forgive me if I say something stupid. After a whole lot of reading on this site a couple of things are making me look for answers. First, it seems to me that I need to add timing because my injectors are DAP 7x.009 and popped @ 320 bar. My question here is I know that as they wear, they will drop in pressure. Has anyone worked out a table based on mileage/hours of when to start taking that advance out? Second, what is fairly simple, can I just tap into my existing gauges for the fuel pressure and pyro to the Quad? Again, sorry if I'm asking stupid questions, but I like to understand what and why I'm suppose…

Checked the Mileage when I topped off this afternoon, and found that I got 13 MPG. Now granted it's winter, and the truck idles more, this is still pretty crappy. The particulars are as follows: 1998.5 3500 24v, edge EZ box, DAP 100hp VCO sticks, New OE size tires (215 85 r16) 400,000 Miles 5 spd trans. I'm planning on jumping on the quadzilla train this spring, but does anyone have an idea why my mileage sucks so bad? Mark

Does anybody have a good recommendation for a DIY or aftermarket fuel filter setup for a 2000? A few months ago I replaced a leaky drain valve with a new one from Geno’s, but I still don’t really trust it. Also, the internals for the wif sensor and fuel heater were both crusty and non functional. I prefer to keep things simple and stock but I don’t wanna worry about leaks, plus that canister is a pain to get off and on. I have a Raptor 4G mounted to the frame rail and 1/2” lines tank to pump.

Hope this is ok to put here. I wanted to put the history and semi build up of my truck so far for both record and might be able to help others some how. So, I have been a dodge fan for years, partly because my father works at a dodge dealership and because the only non dodge product we have ever had in the family was a mid 2000s Subaru Legacy. My first time driving anything was when I was like 3-6 years old, my father let me steer his Jeep Grand Wagoneer down the road. We actually still have that jeep but it has fallen into disrepair because of reasons. I personally have had a 1999 Jeep Cherokee (on loan from the parents), 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 (was…

Hello everyone, gonna make this shirt and sweet and can update more after work. I did the overhead wrong I believe (first time doing it) and lost the valve bridge on said intake. The cap fell off as well and I’m having trouble getting the cap back into the plastic retainer, keeps going in a bit crooked and I’m weary of just tightening the adjuster and letting it go flush after startup… also believe the top of the push rod is bent slightly, whether this loose valve adjustment caused it or it was like that when I swapped the head this weekend, I’m not sure. Going to autozone and getting a new rod after work. any input is greatly appreciated. This tru…

As best I can describe it, if anyone has been driving a car when the catalytic converter melts down or plugs up the engine gets generally sluggish and struggles under its own weight. Throttle works but no not really because its just bogging it further in a sense. Or how about those of us with Edge tuners who take off driving before it loads and you get that sudden burst of power when it does start working. That sudden contrast between no tune and tune. However in my case only 200 yards prior i was running the tune and it just suddenly fell on its face then as i said its a sudden burst of power when it clears up. I hope that description makes sense …
