  3. Started by Timburrr,

Hi there, I'm 32 and live on Vancouver Island, BC. My mechanical skills are fairly novice but I like working on my own vehicles (love/hate relationship sometimes). I've been lurking for a while, and have been following Mopar's posts here and other forums for quite a while. I plan on keeping my 1999 24v for a very long time so I'll hopefully be here for a while. It's mostly stock but I have done some small things like the BD flowmax lift pump. I take the view I have my truck for a marathon race not a sprint but in the future I would like to do a few small performance upgrades for towing etc. From what I have seen I like this resource for…

Just found this part of the forum. I've had a small Volvo repair shop for the past 17yrs in the San Diego area and have been ASE certified master auto tech for over 30 yrs. I would rather be camping, fishing, and hunting in the mountains but stuck in So Cal.

Howdy, I have lurked for years on here and decided to sign up. Prior to this truck I rolled a '90 7.3L IDI with a sidewinder which grew on me left much to be desired when pulling the camper/boat combo over the passes around here. I've had my '00 Dodge since 2006 and use it about 20-30 time a year for dragging the 5th Wheel around the Cascades and taking the boat to various locations. She has been a great truck and I've done all the work, but the last few years has found some bigger repairs being needed. A new VP44 went in last summer, a leak on the front of the motor needs to be diagnosed and now I'm throwing in some RV275s and dealing with a potential dead pe…

Good morning all, Name's Tim and I am relatively new to diesels. Been a member of forum for some time but thought I would post an introduction. I have a 1999 Dodge 2500 24v Cummins with 169k. I bought the truck from my father in law and it was owned by my wife's grandfather before that. My father in law bought it with intentions on flipping it, but I needed a camper hauler so I bought it for $2500 as is. Truck was in rough shape when I bought it. I did a full body swap/semi restoration. Truck runs like a top. Current mods are BHAF, Quadzilla Xzt+, Airdog 165-4G, full set of Isspro gauges (EGT, Trans Temp, Boost, Fuel Pressure). Future pla…

I just wanted to thank Mopar man. For this site and articles. I've learned more about my truck in the last few weeks than in the last two years of owning it. You've saved me and taught me more than my local diesel shops.

Hey, just wanted to introduce myself, I'm from Northern Idaho and have a 2002 QCSB with a HO Cummins and 6 speed manual. I found the site looking at HID retrofits and it looked like a great community to be a part of. Attached a pic of my truck for those who want to see it.

I read some post here and I put a momentary on switch on my intake heater element. For some reason my truck isn't starting as fast as it used to. Not really sure where to begin to fix the problem. I have a 2002 3500 with 346000 miles. Nothing aftermarket other than a cold air intake and went to a 4 inch exhaust. Thanks for your feedback.

I have been on other forums for years. I am very impressed with the quantity and quality of 2nd generation topics on this site, so I decided to join. I fell in love with my first CTD while helping my Uncles farm. I was driving an S10 at the time and my uncle bought a new '92 Chassis Cab CTD. He partially bought that truck because he really liked the engine from his experiences with it in his farm equipment. Within a couple of years, I bought a new red and black '97 CTD 2500 reg cab 4x4(I'd love to be able to have this truck back and in good shape). I then decided I needed an extended cab and ordered my current truck. It is an Amethyst '99 CTD 2500 QC 4x4…

Howdy, I was testing your aim, and everyone that made it in has passed my initial evaluation. There will be more evaluations to come. ... I joined the forum due to the shear mountain of proven and documented knowledge I was able to quickly and easily find. Every time I was looking for some piece of information one of the ambassadors to this forum was answering the question without the usual forum BS and opinion injection/thread derailment. After continuing to hit the same few members screen names over and over on multiple forums it seems their culmination of knowledge resides on this website ... so I joined. I recently purchase…

Well, posted a bit on here already but thought I'd come introduce myself. Moved to MT from WA about a year and half ago and found my little Toyota 4x4 wasn't cutting the mustard for things you need a truck for in MT (hauling cords upon cords of firewood, yanking people out of ditches, pulling trailers for equipment, etc.). So, I ended up trading my dad for the truck in my sig with a flatbed car hauler (yes, I'm very aware I came out waaaaay ahead in that deal). It has served me well for the aforementioned tasks, as well as getting me back and forth to work teaching grades 1-8 in a one-room private school. This is my first diesel so I'm still figuring things out here and t…
