My "new to me" truck is a 2005 Ram 3500 auto and it has a Banks exhaust brake and a CBC Smartlock on it. It is vacuum operated, but doesn't work. There is vacuum to the actuator when needed, but it appears the diaphragm leaks. A new actuator from Banks is $137.76 (part #55062). Anybody replace one? Just wondering if anyone has any experience with the Banks brake.

My son and I are new to the 04 modles, my son went from a 01 to a 04 and we are trying to learn the ropes so to speak. Can any of you help out with things like what are the sensors on the air box? What can we get rid of and has to stay. Truck is a 04 3/4 ton auto trans and 4" exhaust with a proformance muffler, the rest is stock.

What is this term I see using more and more "Tuning: MY03 pistons and BBi Stage 1's in a MY05 truck." MY is that a term for a model or actually "My Truck"?

I have noticed recently a strange sound, or sensation while my truck is idleing. The best way I can describe it is it feels like a random intermitten stumble.. Like an AC clutch engaging against head pressure. I have not had a chance to investigate with the hood up yet to see if it is in fact something belt driven or not. I read another post where a member had experienced what he called an intermitten studder while idleing, and it was his FCA..?

Has anyone ever used this with the 48RE? I used it in my last truck(06 Hemi/1500) and was impressed with how it improved its shift. Every once in awhile under very light acceleration, I get a feeling almost like the convertor locked up early-it's doesn't feel like slipping or a shudder ,hard to describe actually. My half ton acted the same even after filter /fluid change and I added this-cured it. I just bought this 2500 a couple months ago and I'm a little leery pouring just anything in my transmission, I plan on doing the filter /fluid /band adjustments in about 6 weeks but wondered about giving this a shot in the interim? My truck has 63,000 miles on it -Thanks!

I had an interesting conversation with a Carter fuel pump engineer this morning. I have been researching just what way I want to go for a new lift pump and filter system. I just can't pay $400+ for something that costs the dealer $100 at the most . So anyway carter sells a pump (P4601HP) with 18 max PSI, 3/8" lines and a 100 GPH flow rate. More then enough for a stock to lightly modded truck. However I was told that the pump MUST be mounted with in two feet of the tank AND the inlet MUST be below the tank. If the height is not fallowed the fuel will siphon back into the tank and shorten the life of the pump. The fix would be a simple check valve mounted between the tank …

I dont know which to go with, I like the smarty I think, I heard you can shut off two of the three times the injectors spray. What programmer do you run? I am looking to get fuel mileage.I do not have gauges yet, I guess that depends on programmer.

Ok gang, my brother is hell bent on making some more power with his truck. Here is his truck. 2005 Ram 2500 4door long bed 2in leveling kit s&b intake with scoop smarty junior upgraded clutch G56 stock trans 3.73 gears He wants to eventually go with a set of twins with a new head 110# valve springs studded & fire ringed Smarty SSR & 100 horse ddp injectors, but for now he just wants an upgraded turbo that he can add another one to later. He is torn between industrial injection and ATS. Of these two companies which is better? Which turbo from each company would be best for his current mods and to add another turbo to later? Any input is appreciated!

I left early Friday AM with Scott and Vanessa heading to Kentucky to pick up 2 pups from the last litter my Lab Spud sired. Scott was getting one and Vanessa was get one for her niece as a surprise. Anyhow, I filled up the evening before about 2 miles from my house, and tripped the mileage counter back to 0, as well as the overhead. Picking up Scott and Vanessa probably added 40 miles to how I normally drive down there, but I don't think it would've mattered one bit. We left early (6:00AM), but it was hot by 8:30AM, so I clicked on the AC. It's hard to talk running down the highway with the window open!!! Got down to KY, hung out at Dougs with the pups, went and…

I've got a 2006 Dodge ram here with some very strange issues electrically. All stems around the headlights and turn signals and the multi-function switch. If you turn the right turn on it actually does light the right turn signal. Now turn on the left and the right is flashing. Turn on the hazards and only the right is flashing. Now turn on the head light there is zero headlight but markers and fog lamps. Try hi or lo beam it will flash for a brief moment but turn on the wipers and spray the windshield. Can't get hi wipers at all only lo. Now what did I do so far... Changed the multi-function switch - Same issue Pulled my 2006 Dodge TIPM and swapped i…

Goes by the name of Raceme tuners. Seems they only support 07 and newer from my research and they do have delete software too. Looks to be a foreign co. http://raceme.eu/, looks funny that they sell BBI injectors which begs the question of is it Smartys way of getting around some rules or is it a true copy cat company? Seems to be suspicious. http://www.racemetuners.com/

Went down to SE Missouri this past weekend for my annual snow goose hunt. Hunting was slow on Sat. and great on Sun. On Sunday 3 guys killed 19 birds inspite of 2 guys with gun problems!!!Anyhow, I left my house Friday with about 125 mostly towing miles on the tank of fuel. Got down to Sikeston, MO, and filled up. I got 548 miles on that tank and after hand calculating mileage, it worked out to 18.5mpg. Not too bad.Drove around down there for about 180 miles before heading home on Sunday. I drove straight thru without stopping all the way to my house. I filled up this AM and the tank had 624 miles on it. Hand calculated mileage worked out to 19.8mpg. Pretty good since I…

Hey everyone just want a few opinions. My brother just got a cummins so I might be selling my edge to him since I only use it for the gauges. With that said I am going to have to get a new pyro and boost gauge. I have a banks high ram intake horn but it is not tapped for a boost elbow. Should I tap that or does anyone know how well that boost bolt works?

So my son did an oil change on his 22RE this weekend, and my wife's car need one as well. Well after we were all done i was going to combine the left over oil in the bottles for some oil for the snow blower or the generators. well sure glad i looked in to containers, now i need the people here to tell me what my next move should be. Now mind you my wifes car has well over 130K miles on supertech oil. but it is concerning..

  19. So I thought I was getting a really great deal on a truck so I thought the batteries took a crap so replaced them then the crimp on the end of the wire from the alternator to the battery broke I twisted back up and now started the truck wire started smoking and I had 19v on my passenger side battery shut the truck off so I removed the alternator and took it to 2 different parts stores tested it 10 times on each machine passed every time it's a Bosch with the Chrysler logo some I'm thinking its original? But anyways I'm thinking that what I've read the computer controls the voltage regulator and charging system but you can add in a in line regulator and I'm hoping this wil…

I made a tentative appointment for Monday to bring my truck in to have the "free spin hubs" installed and replace the axle u-joints. Before anyone jumps me here, I'm not set up to do this work. I could do it myself, but don't have the space or the time now. It's better for me to borrow a truck until mine is done and make money to pay for the service I need.My question is this..........I've got almost right at 100,000 miles on the replacement BJ's and TR ends. These are greasable units. Should I have them checked/replaced???? Truck still drives great and is real tight in the wheel. I ask for the simple fact that the front end is gonna be mostly apart anyway with the hub…
