I was down in SE Missouri this past weekend snow goose hunting. The hunting was poor; but the mileage going back home was really, really good. I filled up just South of Sikeston, MO, prior to the drive home. I decided to spend the night at the P's house, rather than drive the last 75 miles in a stupor!!!! That said, it was 399.6 miles to the P's house. The following morning, I drove the rest of the way home. I filled up this afternoon..............653 miles on the tank of fuel. The last 4 days have been towing my work trailer. Prior to towing, I was at 500 miles for the tank when the fuel gauge read 3/8 tank left!!! Had I continued driving highway/empty like I was, I…

I am in the process of installing gauges for egt, boost pressure and trans temp. My question is where to pick up the electrical connections for power and a switchable source. Also need to pick up a source that works with the dimmer. Thanks

I'm visiting a friend and when we were using his truck (05 Ram ~ stock) to take large pile of trash to the dump, when his #4 fuel line started to leak due to a crack in the line next to the fitting. When we went to the dealer for a replacement, they had a few on the shelf and told us this line has had problems of cracking. Per the dealership parts guy, the line is so short, it can't take the vibration over time. This Cummins replacement is different because it is now designed to give a slight flex for the constant vibration. Installed and it was working perfect. But my friend said this happen before. At 130k the first time and 180k this time. Geno's has a replacement t…

Just seeing if anyone else has had there cluster go nuts while driving. Oil, battery, fuel and temp guages dont move, they stay fine. The tach and speedo go to 0. The dash chimes every time it does it. Every light comes on the cluster. Signal light indicators on dash dont work but the exterior lights work fine. Then for a split second you can see the message no bus flash. I'm at a loss with this. Truck runs, starts fine. Dosent create any other problems but a real annoyance. It comes and goes. Sometimes wont do it one day, then the next it's none stop. Every 3 to 5 seconds the chime, and the lights and tach and speedo going to zero. Any help much appreciated!!!

Hello, I am hoping someone here can brainstorm with me to get me over this hump I've been dealing with a long time now. Quick background: truck is a 2005 dodge ram 3500 VIN but has 2004 motor, trans, and ECM. I unknowingly purchased it like this. The truck was cheap I knowingly bought it hoping for just mechanical problems. I overhauled the motor it had 3 broken rings, replaced all injectors, etc. etc. Unfortunately over the last 2 years I have only had intermittent time to work on the truck roughly 2 weeks every 6 months. The truck now cranks and fires great every time and idles well except for a little bit of white smoke which is expected as the truck has le…

  10. First thing I noticed was that my OH computer started to tell me the outdoor temp was 130 degrees F. Now every time I check its 130 degrees F. Then a little while later it started to reset the ave mpg every time the truck started. So every time I start the truck the ave mpg reported is 0. However, as you drive it appears to be working to calculate the ave mpg but it now starts at zero. The miles driven are being reported the same as the odometer. Any one have any similar experience? If I wanted to fix the problem, what needs to be fixed? Is there module or computer or something that needs replacement? If I choose not to f…

I replaced the OEM bushings today and replaced them with urethane ones from Lukes Links. I got them from Geno's Garage. Had to start the day by going out and buying a 18mm socket. Yep, the track bar bolts are 18mm, and guess who's tool set doesn't have one???!!! It actually comes out really easy. Break the bolts loose, the nuts have an appendage on them so you don't have to have a wrench on the nut, and it basically falls out. No kidding. Mine was that loose in the bracket.Rather than press the old bushing out, I went to my drill press and drilled holes into the rubber at about 5/16-3/8 inch intervals all the way around the bushing and then took a drift and drove what w…

I'm just wondering if the 06 has the silencer ring. If it does and I removed it would that help the turbo spool up sooner?

Took the truck into the shop on Monday. I hadn't been driving it since the previous Wednesday due to the eee, eee, eee, sound I was hearing from the front drivers side axle U-joint. Didn't want to break the joint, so I borrowed a truck for a few days before they could get my truck into the shop. I told to replace both axle U-joints and the pinion seal which has been leaking for about 30,000 miles now!!!! I also told them to check the whole front end......ball joints, tie rods, etc. Anyhow, I thought my truck was still real "tight" until I got it back yesterday. Holy Cow!!!!! Man is she responsive now!!! She takes the bumps in our shitty roads better, rides smoother and i…

I read this thread on CF apparently an 04 (AF forward) with a CAI plugged with snow & restricted air flow. Is this an issue with BHAF? Is there an issue with water or snow through the fender or fender hood crack? I picked up a 03 ram and it didn't have any of the keyless entry remotes with it, is there a cheap way for me to go to a stock remote? I would assume that would mean a trip to the dealer? Or should i check out something after market?

I am wanting to upgrade my stock tranny for towing. My 10k lb rv really puts a load on my tranny especially climbing hills. I know there are allot of choices out there, ATS, BD, Suncoast, Goerend, etc. I am leaning toward Source Automotive which is closest to me. Any thoughts or suggestions?

What does, his code actually mean? I know it states fuel feedback circuit, but does it mean fuel is detected in the feedback to the tank? Or a abundant amount of fuel is detected in the feedback circuit? Thanks in advance ! --- Update to the previous post... Or if a injector isn't opening and delivering fuel to the cylinder head, could it cause this code?
