When I start my 07.5 and the on board temp display is like 45 or so the heater light come on it kicks in grid heater as it should. after start it usually kicks in 2 or 3 more timeshowever after it’s up to operating temp and I shut motor off and restart it still does the same thing however light does not come on but grid heater distinctly kicks in 3 times. Why no light? Why 3 times, why is it kicking in when already up to temp?? Could it be in the tuner?? Anybody got ideas??

Hey gang, I'm going to start asking around of anyone has a compression tester for a Cummins? What brand name did you get? How about the injector adapter? Where did you get the injector adapter at? Thor, I'm now really suspecting there are ring issues coming at me. Yeah Great! (roll eyes). Sadly, I'm getting things done in repairing Thor so we can get @Tweety Bird moved out of her place in Nampa, ID. For now, I'm going to use Thor, but yeah, cold morning, it seems like there is a rough off-beat miss now. I know I'm going to have to do piston rings at a bare minimum. I've got enough blow by now that the cap dances pretty well. The truck runs really wel and has plenty of …

I see in the service manual that it was possible to get an Allison transmission behind the CTD in a Dodge. Was this available for 2500 and up, or was it for the 4500-5500 series? Was it a 4 or 5 spd.?

I've got the Revo on the default settings which are supposed to be safe for stock injectors; but I just want to know what's going on under the hood!!! :smart I've got an Edge Juice w/Attitude for sale if anyone is interested!! I had it on my 04.5!! Works well!! :thumbsup

Mornin' fellas, I posted this question on another forum and did not receive an adequate answer so I thought I would try here. I also know that everyone loves the Smarty and yes I have used the search function so with that being said, here goes. I have a SuperChips Flashpaq #3805 for the truck in my sig. The trans is getting a full rebuild on it as we speak and I am wondering what if any issues I would have running the truck with the programmer on the performance mode? I am looking for engine issues here as the rest of the drive train will handle it easily. I'm new to diesels and programmers and I would like to be able to plug and go since I have this, but if I'm goi…

Ok I got my trany temp hooked up to my Mag Hytec pan and yea I know it's in the pan but hey. So I hook up to my 32' goose neck 7k empty and head out to pick up a load of drill stem for a fence I am building. I am about 20 miles into this and the temp is still at 100 so I pull over and check the wire and it's good to go, so I feel the pan and it's not hot so probably 100 degree. I get back in and it's up to 105 I get to where I am going and it's still 105, I set there and idle and it goes up to 150 just idleing for maybe 10 min. Get loaded with 25 32' joints maybe 4500 lbs and it comes down to 125 and stay's there all the 30 miles back. Idle in drive while I unload and it'…

My truck just turned 140,000 miles this past weekend coming home from my second trip to SEMO. Had I not run thru a "front" and have the wind shift from straight South to NE, I would've gotten another 20-21mpg tank. That's running 65-68mph. That said, I thought I'd share with y'all what I've done to my truck since I got her. I'm pulling this from the top of my head, so bear with me here.Mods in order of installation.1. Fuel Tank Vent Mod.......IMHO, the best "bang for the buck" mod there is.....Done at about 11,000 miles2. MBRP Free Flow Exhaust........Cat Back......Still on and looking good...Done at about 14,000 miles3. K&N intake System.......then replaced wit…

So in my quest to further understand the monster that is quadzilla adrenaline, I found this video online. It explains alot, so if anyone has any questions about the video, check this out too. The original quadzilla tuning video is pretty good as well. I'll provide links to both. Original Quadzilla tuning video: I'm sure the gurus on here are masters with this programmer already, but for those who aren't, or those who are wondering whether they should, here you go.

I would like to clear the check engine light and clear (permanent?) DTC P0072 so I can smog my truck. P2509 also comes up. Dealer wants to flash the PCM for $175. I already repaced the ambient air tem sensor twice, wireing inspected... Two years ago P0072 went away after installing the new sensor. Thanks 5 Volts are going to the sensor and the sensor reads 11000 Ohms. Is there any way to clear codes on a 2007 5.9 ? My Bosch OBDii scanner erases every code except the P0072. Clains the current is low but it has 5 Volts going to the sensor.Truck runs perfect except for windshield wiper electrical flaw. They stop in the middle of the window and the lowest set…

I have a 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 pickup with a 5.9l diesel and 48re trans, bought it used in January with 162,000 miles on it. recently it started making a fluctuating droning noise that is heard through the exhaust while cruising at speeds between 50 and 65 mph. It tends to disappear if power is added and then returns. Anyone have any thoughts as to a possible cause?

quad cab 2500 vs 3500, the ebay place I found some cheap window vent visors from are claiming the cabs are different. I don't buy it. I expect across all the Rams of a given year there are only two four doors - a Quad and a Mega.Am I wrong or are they nuts?

This is like The Never Ending Story" for me! I've been getting these codes for years. I clean the 2 sensors put them back and in a few weeks and the codes come back. I both 2 new sensors and it was good for 6 months. I clean them and get a few weeks. So I replaced them again about a year ago and the codes are now back again. Now I clean them two days ago with sensor cleaner and can't clear the codes with my scanner. Today I go out there and unplug the Quadzilla, plugged in the Quadzilla end plug, put my scanner on it and was able to clear the codes. Whats up here, is this Quadzilla my problem? I no longer have the install direction, how do I un-install it? Also can …

Well after extensive “research” and two new APPS or TPS sensors I believe I have finally found the culprit. It turned out to be the connector itself. As I was searching for grounds I noticed that the pins in the connector were loose and moved around just a bit. After finding no short to grounds I decided to remove the pins and expand them a bit. Put it all together and it actually allowed me to clear the codes this time. Just took a short drive and it seems to be just fine! Has anyone else seen this problem and does anyone know where to get quality pigtail connectors? This was on my 04.5 2500 6spd.

For those that don't know or recall the specs of the engine they are in the link in my sig.. BLUF: 7730 miles and 600 gallons which means an average mpg of 12.88. Simply put those where not the easiest miles one could put their truck thru. 3636.8 miles of towing (47%) where at least 2500 were above 18K GCW and nearly all of those where in/around the Idaho Mountains. Average speed was 29mph and at least 300-400 of the miles where towing on slow dirt roads with grades well over 10% in places. I also have approx 40% more power than stock and ~90hp injectors. Oil is Amsoil AME with a Donaldson ELF7349, 15um. and an Amsoil EaBP-110, 2um, bypass. My OEM motor ne…

Hi folks. My 05 Ram Cummins has 130K miles and is starting to need a few things. The viscous fan is bad, tip off was no A/C at idle. With the A/C on and the engine cold, I can reach around and easily stop the fan. Wierd thing is I have no codes? Is that normal? I ordered a Auto Enginuity setup with expanded coverage, maybe there are codes lurking deep inside. I have the tools, 36mm wrench and a tool to hold the pulley. My fuel gauge occasionally sticks at 1/2 reading on fillups, I guess its time to replace the lift pump assembly. I really want to check my injection system. The truck doesn't have near the power it used to, runs ok, no missing etc, but simply lacks th…
