Thanks for such a great forum, I'm having a problem with my lift pump. First off, I have an 02 Dodge / Cummins. It has 354k on it and has gone thru 4 or 5 lift pumps over the years. The pump is located on the side of the block. The Dodge dealer wants 1100 bucks to install the retro conversion pump in the tank and after doing some reading, many folks are saying to just buy the Fass DDRP-02 replacement pump, so I did. With the pump all hooked up, it won't work. It seems to be an electrical problem. Now I'm thinking that when my truck stopped running the other day, it wasn't the pump at all, but this electrical problem I'm now having. When I plug a 12V tester in the connecto…

I have looked over the front driveshaft u-joint each time I changed the oil and have yet to find where to grease it. Because of taking the time to look each time I change oil, it takes an hour to do this. I need help. I have read through this site, other sites and have spent enough time reading on this topic, it’s like spending months in a library. One pic shows where to grease (I borrowed from another site), and the other is my front joint. There is a major difference. a) On the older style joint there are retaining clips holding the caps on.b) There are NO retaining clips holding the caps in on mine, but little pins through the side. There is no hole for greasing anywhe…

This is for my son,He has an 06 cummins 6 sp tranny. While pulling into to the driveway this afternoon, like a blonde he let his foot off the clutch with his foot on the brake still. the tires kept spinning for about 3 seconds and then it died. Well when he went to start it back up it kinda "lurched" with his foot still in on the clutch and did not want to start. So with the truck turned off he put the stick to neutral put his foot back in on the clutch and then proceeded to start and lo and behold it did. Well now the clutch feels different it will push back up real hard when you have it pushed in and it will not shift in to any gear while running. But if you turn the t…

Ok so my sons early 04 is getting 20 mpg and he drives it like he stole it. He is running a bully dog. My 05 auto is getting 15 bearly, I average more like 13.75. Is it in the cam, injectors or what? Why cant this 05 get better fuel mileage? I am thinking of getting a Smarty Jr. or a jet eng. that way I can just fly there and back.

Hey fellas, I'm having a few issues with my new truck. I'm noticing some noise from the tyranny which I'm thinking is either the pilot bearing or throw out bearing. If I'm tearing down to fix what type of clutch should I use? The other issues are I took it for an alignment and was told that my lower ball joints have slack, outer tie rods ends have slack, and the bushings are bad on sway link kit on front! What kind of parts are best on these trucks?

Didn't know exactly where to put this, so I put it here.Just rolled over 70,000 miles on my Cooper Discoverer ATR's this past weekend. I tow a lot, and I usually run all 4 at 70psi. I'm gonna keep them on for my North Dakota trip next month and for as long as we don't have snow after that.Cooper no longer makes the ATR.............it was replaced recently with the Discoverer AT3. All the reviews I've read on this tire are positive. It's a bit more "aggressive" than the ATR, but Cooper is a good tire and American made so I'll probably get them when it's tire time!!!!!

I ran into a friend today who has an 06 2500 CTD. He has done some mods to it [a box and trans upgrades] and takes really good care of it. I have a 2002, and discussed the lift pump issue I am currently having with it. He wasn't sure if there were any lift pump issues with his model truck. Do these later model trucks have this issue as well?

What's the consensus on "back pressure" in our diesels? I hear they don't need back pressure and it makes no difference. It seems my 2007 has more low end torque with the cat installed when on stock tune than when I remove the cat. It seems very sluggish on take off as it the turbo needs time to spool in order to get the truck rolling. In higher RPMs it seems stronger though? In order to gain back that low end torque I have to tune it. Why is this so? I need to replace my exhaust and as much as I want to go with 5" for lower EGTs and better sound, I'm afraid it's going to hurt my performance. My truck is stock and I don't want to throw a tune on it and put other parts …

Ive been trying to do some research on it but its all different results:shrug:. Some thing I read said that it wont work on the 03-04s but I have an early 04 built in 03 and it works on that.

- 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 5.9L CTD- Superchips Cortex 3950 - Innova Can ODB-II 3100e scanner Tuner was working fine before a trip to the dealership. I had a problem where my wait to start light was coming on at highway speeds. Also threw P1222. All of this happened after tuning truck with superchips cortex tuner. (I had the tuner left over from my previous gas truck, thought I'd see what it could do.) So I put the truck back to stock and took it to the dealer for repair. Dealer installed 6 new injectors. I still had the WTS light problem, but was able to use my code scanner to check DTCs. That's how I found the P1222. Hooked up a friends fancy Matco scanner and it was unab…

I was not happy, very bad set up. Hangers in bad location some with no location. Poor. I called to give them a piece of my mine and the line was full :lol:Tail pipe way to short. My fender gets black fast the way it was, If I left it the way they sent it it would melt it off. I cut the new tail pipe off at the bend then cut my stock miter cut tail pipe off and welded it up. I like it, looks good, at least it's not just squared off. So I will fab up the rest of it tomorrow. I hate the muffler clamps, I use stainless band clamps when possible, that way you can get it apart easily if need be.When it sounds to good to be true it usually is Spend a little more and have les…

Ok my trans will skip 2nd when your light on the throttle and go straight to 3rd and when you start easing into it it will down shift to second then go thru the gears just fine. Is this what they call hunting? It's not just doing it one or two times a day it will do it almost everytime, except if you are heavy on the throttle.
