Hello everyone. I am either not very good at searching or this topic hasn't been talked about yet. Here it is. Friday night i get home from work. Go to roll up my drivers window. It goes up half as then stops. I tried it again.. No luck. I tried every Window from the driver door. Then i tried every Window on each door at the door itself. Nothing. Then i tried the mirrors. Nothing. I then checked the power locks and they worked fine. So then i grabbed a test light and checked every fuse and all of them are good. So i then bought a new master window switch. And. Nothing. Still dead but power locks work. Has anyone else experienced this? If so how …

Looking at the failures of the common rail system which happens to be the injectors most cause by honing from debris that passes through a small orifice inside that cause the it not to seat properly later in life. But still in all I've seen prices ranging from $300 and up per injector for CR truck for a total of $1,800 for a set of re-man stock injectors. Then looking at the VP44 which happens to be the failing point of the 24V Cummins. with the failure of a VP44 based on the fact of lack of lubricity and low fuel pressure that kills them. They only happen to be now $1,100 bucks for a new pump. In either case in stock form I've seen both trucks fail just as quick but of …

Does any one know of a place to order a new ecu for a 2004 cummins auto. The issue started when engine would not crank due to bad batteries. I put a charger on them charged for a bit then turned it up to higher amp start. Engine cranked started then shut off. I tried to restart and engine cranks but no start condition. The gauges do it cycle to full sweep and back anymore once batt is disconnected and reconnected. I do not hear any injectors clicking anymore no grid heater heating up. No way to read dtc from dash as it is dark and not lit up anymore. Ive checked fuses, fusable links , grounds , I pinned out the harness to the ecu and there is power there and g…

I have been reading about the relief valves giving people problems. Is it okay to just put in the plug or is that a bad idea? I have read it makes the trucks run better but i dont want to hurt my engine

Hi, I'm new here, I found this fine site over at Cummins forum, I have a 2004 slt 4x4 qclb 305hp w/ auto, my question, is there something that locks out the column shifter when it's cold out and truck is not fully warmed up? I started mine twice in the last week and only let it warm up a minute and when I went to shift into drive while stepping on the brake it would not budge,(temp was -20*)I repeated the step on brake and shift same thing, third try, I really stood on the brake pedal and it finally shifted, same thing happened yesterday, this is my first winter with this truck and I've only had it a couple months so I am still learning about diesel trucks, is there a sen…

2006 dodge 2500 6speed 4x4. Alternator suddenly quits charging. Had the batteries and alternator tested. Batteries where good but alternator failed. Replaced the alternator and it’s still not charging. Replaced all 4 terminals and cleaned everything. I keep reading about these “fuseable links” but can’t seem to find any great info. I tossed the alternator power wire like an idiot. Because I thought it was just a normal wire. So temporarily I used 3 strands of 12g fuseable link wire to replace it. At the same time as replacing the fuseable link I tied in a 16g ground wire from the alternator plug to a ground on the inner fender and bam the alternator is charging. I firmly …

Remove and Replace Fuel Injectors First step you need to have all your tools ready and clean place to layout parts in the assembly order. Make things a bit easier take a moment and disconnect the 2 plugs going to the valve cover. Grab a 10mm wrench or a short socket on a ratchet. There are 6 bolts holding the valve cover in place. You don't need to pull the bolts out of the cover just loosen and leave till you lift the valve cover off. Now you should see this below. You are going to grab a 8mm short socket and ratchet and remove all 12 wires from all 6 injectors. Don't worry about tagging there is no wrong way for those wires. Then just lift the gasket off…

Went to adjust my parking brake and found out they don't hold to well covered in oil. Go figure right? However no oil on the wheel or tire. I'm not 100% its leaking now as it could have been replaced and not cleaned off. Anyone replaced these seals before?

Power steering fluid is often considered one of the most neglected fluids on a vehicle. Most service schedules don't cover it, and most people only think about it when something fails. But power steering fluid gets quite hot and worked, so it should be changed on a scheduled interval. Also the power steering fluid is what gives us power brakes, so its a good idea to properly maintain it. My truck just hit 60 months of service, and is at 49K miles. I was going to be under-hood for a coolant flush so decided to do my power steering fluid. I started off with the service manual instructions. This was a very straight foreword flush. To make it go easier the first t…

Does anyone have some good pictures of a leveled 3rd gen with a 275/70/18 wheel and tire set up? I currently have to buy a new transmission and I also need tires, needless to say I'm on a tight budget. I'm considering downsizing from my 325/65/18's to 275/70/18 for a $250 savings. Any other advice is welcomed as well, thank you.

Got back from North Dakota early Sunday morning. Truck ran great.......no problems. We put 4 tanks of fuel thru Mighty Whitey in 1 week...........the MPG's for the tanks were 17.1mpg, 17.1mpg, 18.3mpg and 18.8mpg. The first tank and about a 1/4 of the second were used going up there loaded to the gills (truck and trailer) running 65-68mph. The whole last tank got us from Fergus Falls, MN to my house and the overhead lie-O-meter said 41 miles to go on the DTE. Not too shabby for a truck with 3 guys, 3 dogs and assorted gear towing a 5x8 trailer loaded down, with a small johnboat lashed to the top.My camera took a powder, so I didn't get any pix of our trip. However, w…
