Had to share on of the locals wanted the diff and transmission fluid changed. I did find another transmission fluid for NV4500. It is a GL-4 75w-90 lube. Limited slip rear end with 75w-140.

I am running stock fuel line and filter with a Fass ddrp2. I have had no problem whatsoever. I have read about replacing the banjo bolt fittings with larger less fuel restrictive fittings. I'm thinking I could change the banjo bolt at the vp44 to the enlarged "DRILLED" banjo bolt and run 1/2" fuel hose to the OEM Filter.I guess my question is, "Is the OEM Filter housing drillable to handle a 1/2" hose fitting". I need some advice from members that have been there done that.Thank you, Kerley

I can find much on this topic beside people saying buy the right motor for the truck. I'm going through wiring schematics and woundering can I just make an adapter for the 01 motor to plug in to the spot the 98 did.

I am the original owner of a 98.5 Dodge Cummins with 140,000 miles. Several months ago it started the 'gear hunt' symptoms. My local garage WAS a dodge dealer but lost the dealership back in the summer. They put a new APPS unit (from NAPA) on the truck but it did not solve the issue. I have the '1998-2002 Dodge 4th ger hunt fix" document from ATS Diesel; and a similar document from Sun Coast Diesel. Both of these documents focus on correcting potential grounding issues between the APPS and the ECM/PCM modules. After reading one of the threads here, I see that reprogramming fixed, at least one person's issue. I do not believe my truck has ever been reflashed or reprogramme…

i have a 99 24v and the ecm stopped sending signal to the alternator. i have came across this before on several 12v. i install a cpgenerator voltage regulator. i have yet to do this on a 24v but i have a friend lance from 4play offroad and diesel that has done this swap and told me to ask mopara973man, because it was slightly more extensive than the 12v. i searched for the post but have yet to find it. thanks to anyone that can give me the skinny on what wires to bypass and need to route to and from

Hey everyone. I’m new here. Have always read Info on here but just joined. I bought a 99 2500 2wd to flip. It started as a side job a guy wanted a vp44 installed because he thought that was what was going on. Long story short put in pump and no start. Guy was over it and I bought the truck for cost of the pump. Talked to blue chip diesel and did there diagnostic test and lead to the ecm. Sent the ecm off and got it back. Still no start.

Alright I’ve got a 1999 24v. Transmission stopped locking the torque converter in overdrive. Drove it for a month like that due to bad timing. Parked it for 2 weeks, drove it fifteen minutes and ran normal except for torque converter issue. Parked it again for a week and drove it to transmission guy and he hooked his scanner up. (My check engine light isn’t on at this time) pulled code P0606 (ecm no communication) truck will still start. Batteries will not charge. Have to jump it every time. Will not shift out of first or second. I’ve replaced pcm, ecm, battery cables, and replaced and cleaned all grounds (engine light is still not on). Still having the same “limp mode” i…

I have a 99 4wd auto, bone stock. The tranny doesn't want to shift out of first. I have replaced the output shaft speed sensor, the governor pressure sensor and transducer. I also replaced the ecm due to the delayed WTS light/fuel pump issue. I checked my alternator for AC noise using a snap on meter it it was 0.03 to 0.05. I've owned the truck for 4 months and it appears to have a fairly new alternator. I took the truck to a local tranny shop (long time biz) he hooked it up to a snap on solus scanner and we drove the truck for about 20 minutes. During that time he said the computer had the p1693 and he couldn't communicate with the body control module. My door chimes, po…

Alright, first off and for most thank you for any and all reply I receive So I have done a fair bit of Googleing and searching around, and have come up with nothing. Called cummins, called blue chip diesel, and haven't found a single person who has had the same issue happen. I have a 5 speed 99 dodge 4x4 2500 exsb, ts mvp fuel boost Pyro gauge, bhaf, s366, 150 injectors, pusher intake. When I start the truck at any time it INSTANTLY revs to 3000 ish rpm, then drops to 1000. When I push on the accelerator it will only Rev to 1800 or so, and that's it. Sounds awful and produces and incredible amount of white smoke (as in my cul-de-sac is filled as soon as the truck finish…

The truck is a 1999 5.9 Cummins, for the past 6 months I've had intermittent problems which ultimately led to a no start, use to buck horribly until I turned it off and back on again, and it would run fine for sometime then back to bucking. Injectors are new, injection pump is new, so is lift pump. I recently took my ecm to get tested but they said they couldn't test it cause I tried to break into it (rookie mistake, I should've left it for the pros) which led me to buying a used one that came off a 2001 cummins, and still a no start, any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you

Ok, so I bought this truck a few months ago. It was about 4 hours away so I had it shipped home after I went and looked at it. I got a great deal on it. The transmission was completely gone so I ordered a Firepunk Street/Strip trans. It also ended up having a burnt valve which was unexpected. After comparing pricing with machine work and/or just purchasing a new a head I went with a new loaded head from Promaxx. I swapped out the stock valve springs for Hamilton 103lb vavle springs and used ARP Head studs in place of the factory head bolts. Everything is good there. So now after the transmission, head, starter and wheel bearing were all replaced I'm having an issue with …

New annual member here. I'm hoping someone on this site can help figure out what's causing the stall issue. Without writing a novel, as I have on other forums, I'll be as brief as possible and try to provide as much info to help repliers and to ward off 50million posts that will just skew and clog this thread. In advance, no offense intended and I welcome all well thought thru replies, Thanks. I acquired my truck (wish I could figure out how to create a signature?) in May of 2001 it had 75k on it and bone stock. July 2001 installed gauges: combo boost/egt, fuel psi and trans temp. Spring 2003 with 130k trans started slipping, had DTT master rebu…

I just got this 99 Dodge Cummins QCSB 4x4 Laramie SLT with an auto transmission on November 24th, and I drove 640 miles round trip that day to trade my 99 GMC Sierra SLT 3 door lifted short box 4x4 for it. The 320 mile drive home was harsh with shitty 305/70R16 tires, worn out steering stabilizer shock, and cruise control not working. I did find out that the pickup has a Redhead steering box, BD Diesel Performance adjustable track bar setup, aftermarket boxed trailering arms, and a Skyjacker lift in it. It had no CEL or any other lights warning lights light up on the test drive at the car dealer's or on the drive home. The only light that stays on,…

Ok so here I go, I have a 99 ram 2500 4x4 auto trans 24v 280k miles. I am having a gremlin and here are the symptoms and the story. It started with my transmission not shifting out of 1st no matter how few or many rpms you threw at it unless you let off the petal and kicked it down that way, so I replaced Gov pressure solenoid, transducer, and for good measure the o/d and lockup solenoids as well also tightened the bands to spec and put new fluid in. Did not fix the issue, then the next day driving to work my speedometer says I'm not working Monday and drops to 0, so i replace both the speed sensor in the transmission tail housing and the one in the rear axle. Fixes the s…

Recently I installed gauges in my truck with the suspicion that it had a low boost issue. After installing the gauge I have a peak of 16psi with my xzt+ module turned on. From the research I gathered it should be a minimum of 22 psi+. Last year I performed a leak test and didn’t discover any boost leaks, but I plan performing another test to make sure. The truck overall just doesn’t have the power it should. It never smokes, and the check engine light has come on in the past for a crank position sensor, but is off now. Just looking for suggestions on the low boost issue and lack of power. I was curious if the waste gate might be open, but figuring it does buil…
