http://www.naturalnews.com/029421_biofuels_CO2.html (NaturalNews) A recent report issued by the European Union has revealed that biofuels, or fuel made from living, renewable sources, is not really all that beneficial to the environment. Rather than reduce the net carbon footprint as intended, biofuels can produce four times more carbon dioxide pollution than conventional fossil fuels do. Common biofuels like corn ethanol, which has become a popular additive in gasoline, and soy biodiesel, which is being used in commercial trucks and other diesel-fueled vehicles, are often considered to be environmentally-friendly because they are renewable. But in order to g…

Got me a better gauge today and checked my pressure on my lift pump. Got a 0 to 30 psi gauge. On starter bump i get 14 psi.start engine and run im getting 12 psi at idle.Put truck in gear, hold brake and acelerate i run at 9 psi when really pulling hard.So I'm hoping that is good enough for my stocker around town.OH yeah! I never realized how stupid I am.I realized I have a intercooler on my truck! Duh! I was thinking it was my air conditioning condensor.Like they say sometimes you can't see the forest for the trees.

I am trying to gather information on the flow rate at full power but the info is very scarce, though it is on the side of everyones block. So what I am looking for is the Flow Rate "MM3/Stroke". There are 3 VP44 models in the dodge trucks as far as I know. The models I need info on are the: 245HP 6Spd HO 215HP Automatic I already know the 235HP SO 5spd from Mike. If anyone could help me out, that would be great! So for example, mine is 103.. That's the info I am looking for. http://www.mopar1973man.com//isx97/Truck%20Stuff/Ryan's%20Dodge/Modified%20Pics/mm3.jpg

prior to mey ecm going out i had noticed the my tranny had started slipping out of fisrt and reverse. I had also notice it was getting hard to put in reverse, much more than normal. it does not jump out under load, just slips out when i let off of the throttle. both gears stay in as long as i am under load. Is this an omen of things to come?

Does two cycle fuel stop gelling in the winter? It would seem logical that someone would have taken some of the fuel mixed with two cycle oil, and put a sample in the freezer and looked at it as it got cold to see if it would gel!I haven't seen any posts where someone has tried it.

I posted earlier about my pressure to my vp44 and miss quoted the pressure.I just went out and rechecked my guage. I guess I was in a haste and miss read my guage.Cranking I get : 10 psiIdle I get : 12 psiFull load I get: 7 psiI usually don't use my truck for anything except go to the store, or an ocasioanal hauling of manure or maybee some rocks for around the house.Mostly just very minor things in town.I want to get a guage with more span on it now the one i have is 0- 100 psi so it might even be a little better

Ok I have been reading posts on fuel temperature effecting the vp44.No one is saying what is a good temperature for the fuel! How hot is to hot?How cold is to cold?If the overflow valve is not allowing fuel to return to the tank then you are stuck with the temperature that is coming from the tank.If the overflow valve is open then the temperature is what is generated under the hood and from friction in the pump and injector pump!So would a inline cooler be a improvement? then if the air is to cold it seems like it would be a detrament and you would want a inline heater.Just some thoughts in my head and I would like to see other peoples thought on this

Really cool guyMan I found the best guy to buy ECM from, they are called ECM Outlet. This guy is nice and likes to talk, shoot the small talk with you .Your not just a check # with him.Cost shipped to Tx is 540.00 not dirt cheap but better than anyone I have found. Oh and five year warranty, everybody else is one year, even Cummins remanHe also said that if your P/N on ecm starts with 394 (like mine of course) they are hard to find. He also says that there are about 40 ecm's out there for our trucks 01 - 02. 1-248-565-8308Joe

I have a thread on another forum, and m1973m's posts there, led me 'here'.Basically, it boils down to this:On Key-on, I bump the starter. With a fuel pressure gauge on the system, the lift pump (prev. owner replaced the lift pump (with what appears to be an Airtex E7153 or replica), as well as added a [crap] Mr. Gasket #12D inline pump (rated at 5-7psi, 35gph) back by the tank. The LP kicks on, and the pressure slowly climbs from zero - ~19psi. Once the LP kicks off, the pressure immediately falls to ~5-6psi. If I sit anw watch it for a few seconds, it'll bleed off to zero PSI.If I repeat, and as soon as it hits 19psi on prime, if I start it, it will fall to zero in a…

I bought a Frantz bypass filter a good while back but have not installed it in part due to really crappy weather and in large part due to my frustration with finding what I feel is an adequate and maintenance friendly location to mount the filter and run the oil lines. I have read the write-up and looked at the pics of Mike's install. I may end up doing it this way in the end but I wanted to get as many pictures of how the filter mounting installation is done before I make my decision. I want to keep it simple and drill as few holes and cut as little as possible and hopefully not at all. I would appreciate it if you guys who have the Frantz filter installed show me…

Well here it is, after the fourth ECM on my truck we tried a test ecm from cummins, and the surge that has been there for two years is gone. HEY But the miss is still there. Ok we put truck on a delete box and what that does is it bypasses the elec. in vp and bypasses the ecm, truck ran like a dream, could not belive it if I had not heard it with my own ears. So we still think there is something going on with ecm. We know for a fact it fixed the surge. Put old ecm back on and instant surge is back. Ok one thing I have learned is there are about 12 different ecms out there for a 01 so when someone tells you there all the same - there not, I found out the hard way.
