2nd Generation Dodge 24 Valve Powertrain

Up date on vp from h--- it took about one month for pump to go from dieing once in a while to dieing over 100 times in 10 mile could not take it any longer pull it in grage and ordered new pump. We will see how good BD is on there warranty, 5 months old. Oh and never threw a code. I will try to keep you up dated on what happen to it if BD will let me know.

Today I had to do a repair to my fuel return line coming off of the VP at the pressure regulating banjo. The steel tube cracked where it is pressed into the banjo. I was 40 miles away from home, luckily I had an old washing machine hose, and some SS clamps in the truck. Made the repair and ordered the new part over night from Cummins. Just wondering how much a short shift kit helps pros and cons about them been thinking of getting one just wanna make sure there worth the money

Heres the new dilema with the wifes truck. The darn transmission wont come out of first gear. I got first, reverse,park and neutral. Is there a electronic part in this thing that could make it not shift into second and third. She doesnt haul anything, Im trying to figure this one out. Would changing the fluid and filter help?? Any suggestions on the shifting problem would again be helpful!!!

Ok so I know we have the hydro boost on our trucks so that is why I dont want to tempt fate on this one. As for my mystery when I was up north last week I saw single digit temps about 5 degrees f. I made up my mind, I installed the Glow Shift Blue LED Gauges. I had the first fuel sender go flaky in a weeks time even with the needle valve cracked. So I got a new one from GS and they told me to buy this snubber http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ATM-3279/. So now I have the needle valve and the snubber. My question is, I just had TSI install there HD Precision TC ("the biggest and baddest" in the sales guy's words) and the only thing I have really noticed is smoother overall driving. I have read that stock doesnt transfer power as well and it still seems to be that way after the upgrade. In third gear the TC locks and it pulls really hard but not nearly has hard unlocked. Feels like I am losing a lot of power in other gears. The tranny is in great shape and has always held shifts fine even with the stock converter and valve body. Is there something else I dont understand and need to also upgrade to get the full power potential out of the auto trans or did they not instal…

Ok so I was looking under my truck because a friend of mine told me to check steering shaft because when I am making a turn the steering wheel kinda takes an extra turn like if it was loose or even when I change lanes, so I was looking under and saw this leak could it be coming out of the steering box or can it be coming out of the pwr steering pump because I have seen a leak from there but very small. Any clues ?Also if I do need to change the steering box any tips on how to do it?

I sent my truck into the shop to get high idle set on it and it started to act weird. It recently has thrown a code while my brother has been driving and cuts out. Its a communition between vp and something I cant remember nor have the code number on hand. I had a holley blue on and eliminated it thinking it was the problem it is still acting up. Under hard acceleration and cruising it will die out and usually catch idle if not shut off. Im guessing the vp44 is going out or the lift pump what test can I do to check and pinpoint the problem. I have only had my Dodge/Cummins for a few months. When I turn off the ignition switch and the engine comes to a halt ---- it has a sneezing sound. What on earth is that? Its sorta like a suppressed little sneeze sounding a lot like "chit"???? It seems to be more pronounced now that the weather has warmed up. Thanks in advance. mal

My truck died on the hiway today(2000 ram 2500 diesel, auto). I did the key trick and the code P1693 showed up along with the code P1682. I believe P1682 has to do with a voltage problem. Where do I start with this? Maybe an external voltage regulator is needed? Am I on the right track and why would the truck just shut off and still have enough juice to turn over at a normal rate? Any help or thoughts on this would be much appreciated.

I have a 2001 cummins I've had this problem for some time now after I drive it for 30 min or so it starts to cut out at around 1800 rpms and above it will not hold a steady spot I just changed the vp44 it has not ever thrown a code ounce I have 18lbs pressure to the pump at all times the chip has been taken off and that don't make a diff I'm really lost on this one it's a 5 speed manual and ounce it starts doin it and I pull over and put it in neutral and try to hold rpm a like two grand it will go down to like 1400 and jump back up then down to like 1800 then up to like 2200 it's making me crazy thanks for any help... I started my truck up as normal yesterday morning. When I drove off I noticed a brief hesitation and loudness in my exhaust. Just for a brief second or two!I tighten down all of bolts to my new intercooler boots and a couple of them needed to get snugged up.I scanned for codes but found none. I just bought an 01 2wd daully checked codes this what I got: P0500 Vehicle Speed Sensor 1 Circuit, or No Vehicle Speed Reference Signal 1. no clue what to even look at.
