I am looking at upgrading my 99. I have gauges(egt, fuel and boost), boost fooler and a boost elbow. I am thinking that one of the next things to install are injectors. I know everyone likes the RV275's, but looking around I am wondering if 75 hp injectors are also a good option. I do not tow heavy loads a lot, but there are times that I do load the truck down and would like to have some extra umph. I know that I will also need to upgrade my fuel pump as I still have a stock type in the tank, but for now I am just looking at different options. The truck has around 350,000 miles thus far and runs down the road without missing a tick. Thanks for any input.

So, I finally got my truck back from the shop today. Even though I saved a bunch of money by using my son-in-law's dad's shop, I have some issues. I'll start with a question about the transmission lines that go to the heat exchanger. The guys at the shop crossed the lines and now they are touching. My question is whether it's ok to use anti-chafe tape or do I need to re-route them or is this not an issue and I should just ignore it? ThanksAlso, I have a...vibration or shake that is different than the old engine. It's worse in neutral than in gear. Other than that it runs great. Any input is welcomed. Thanks

I am about to have the Airdog 100 installed and have a quick and easy questions. Someone said to put the bigger spring in for 17psi versus the regular 15psi and i twas included in his parts for the AD. There is one spring in the bag with hardware, is the 15psi spring in already and you have to change it with this one or it's an extra and I need to get it here before I do the AD install? Just curious, wasn't positive. Thanks!

So, I bought my truck a few months ago. Nice condition, well taken care of but was completely stock. I talked to previous owner and he said he had transmission built with heavy duty parts for towing and at the same time he went through and replace ring and pinion, seals, bearings in rear end at same time. I am and have done some upgrades but just want a good maintained reliable truck. Sorry I am going on and on but getting back to having rear end redone. When I changed the rear differential speed sensor today I pulled old one out and there were metal filings on the piece that sits inside the rear end. I thought maybe from before it was redone. So I put new one in …

I have found the LF16035 @ truckhelp.com for $9.10 each plus shipping. Does anyone know where to get them cheaper? I have found them on line from $9.10 to $15.00 plus. I can get a MOPAR filter for $13.49 out the door at a local parts store. What is the conventional wisdom on using /not using the MOPAR filter?

Last question I have for you guys to help me with thats probably pretty simple to answer. Obviously because I have a 99 I cant read codes with using the key switch trick. I currently have a quadzilla xzt+ chip. I am looking for something to give alittle boost that is fairly easy to hook up that will read codes. I can't make a decision on spending the money on an edge juice with attitude because of price and I don't think I would use more than 60hp, smarty, or scan gauge. Everyone has something different and I figured you guys could give me a suggestion on what I should go with for my needs. Thank you!

Hi there guys. A couple days ago I was driving down the highway and the ABS and brake light came on. Wasn't sure if it was anything big so I pulled over and shut truck off, restarted and lights were off. I asked someone and they said it was common and no big deal. Now, last night both came on, won't go off and now my speedometer wasnt working at low speeds in town but then when I would get to 45mph or so it would jump up and when I would slow down, it would drop to zero again. Is this an issue with the batteries or something bigger or are they separate problems? I have the 99 and no code reader so just trying to figure it out! I did have brakes changed about a mont…

I had my 53 block replaced with another complete motor. I know where the 53 was stamped but where should I look on this one. There is a stamp on the front that says made in Mexico. Does this mean it's a 55?

Hi everyone. I had guages installed about a month ago. They are fuel pressure, exhaust temp, and boost. The shop I took the truck to mounted the system to check fuel pressure on the top of my fuel filter housing. I have heard that some people have done this but what I wanted to know is it pretty accurate to have in this spot? I am running about 10psi at idle according to the gauge and I am installing an AirDog100 this next week but wanted to make sure it was right. Thank you!

I know the 3 cyl mode helps warm the engine quicker due to the load put on the engine, so...If I put the truck in gear and keep my foot on the brake am I doing any harm to the trans if I let it idle like that for 5-10 minutes? What about if I do the same thing but bump the idle to 1200 rpm or so? Is that hard on the tranny or any of the parts?Sorry if it's a dump question. I only know the basics when it comes to how auto transmissions work.Thank you!

My injection pump went out last week on my 2000 5.9L Dodge. It had been running just fine, about 20mpg.I got an error code of P1688. So I went to the vendor list here and ordered one from Diesel Auto Power. So far everything has worked out with replacing the pump. Except when I pulled the old pump out the keyway stayed in the gear instead of coming out with the pump. I was able to grab the keyway with a pair of vise grip's and pull it out. :pray:I think I didn't move the gear but if it has been moved do I have to remove the cover and check for TDC on the gears? I hate working out in the snow, ice and wind.Is there anyway to tell if the timing has moved without removing …

I went out and started my truck today, temperature out was about -12 C. I started it and it went up on high idle after about a minute, didn't go into 3 cyl...and after about 3-4 minutes of ruunning, it kicked itself out and went back to a normal idle. Temp gauge was showing 120 on my attitude monitor if I remember correctly. I even tried the high idle fooler, wouldn't go back into high idle. Shut the truck off and restarted it and still no high idle...flicked the fooler on agian in finally in about 3-4 after doing so, it reved back up to 1200 rpm. Surprised me that the high idle would stop when the engine was still cold, I've had warmer days that it worked flawlessly

Well tax return time is coming around the bend so Im going to get a new lift pump. So I was thinking its between the Raptor or the Air dog. I priced the raptor at 350 and airdog around 600. It it worth the extra coin for the airdog? My plans are Little bit bigger injectors 75 max and be able to turn up the smary. Thanks guys.

Hey everyone I'm new to the forum and trying to learn as much about my dodge as I can to keep it on the road. I just put an isspro fuel pressure gauge on it confirmed that I need a lift pump. (not that I didn't know that already). My question is I have been looking at lp and I've decided to go with the air dog 100 big line kit whatever I need to do it right. I have no plans for engine/power upgrades I'm just looking for longevity and later on who knows I might want to add something. Just wondering if I'm on the right track. Your input is appreciated.

I have a HX35 turbo. when I bought my Banks stinger plus it came with a quick turbo exhaust housing, big head waste gate and promised quiker spool ups. It has delivered on that promise but for the life of me I cannot find any specs on what is differant than stock except for the actuator(set to open around 34psi), and the opening for the waste gate(almost twice as large as stock). So I know I am not stock but cant seem to find any info any where as to what the differance is. I have not called Banks, but was wondering if any of you knew what is differant between it and the stock housing. Banks says it will not work with an HY, just an HX. I was very naive when I bought it a…

Those with block heaters, and use them, I have a question..How "hot" does your coolant get when plugged in overnight? I realize this could be dependent on ambient temps, possibly, but I'm curious. As an example, my block heater heats the coolant to ~100*F when plugged in overnight. Is this a normal temp for these things? Seems my '96 got hotter than that, but not 100% positive.

I am going to adjust valves on my '02 and so far have the valve cover off, so far so good. Now I see that I need to move the engine to TDC which is noted on the pump gear housing. HELP...is this pump gear (with the indicator line) under the Crankcase Breather??? I have the hose off and can't seem to get the Crankcase Breather off if that's where the gear is located.Great pictures and help on the link here for adjusting valves but the part about the gear with the TDC mark was not shown. I have the Dodge Shop Manual on CD and it shows the breather as coming off....how do I get it off and if I do get it off, how do I get it back on securely? I hate to start prying on st…
