  1. Started by offroadcummins01,

Well guys, after many many days of studying on which intake to get I finally decided to go with a BHAF. Then I was looking on ebay and found the AEM Bruteforce for a great price (not much more that I would have paid for BHAF and pre filter). Got it yesterday and installed it asap. Looks sharp and sounds great. Dry flow filter. Install was simple:thumbup2: I did notice a bit of improvement in acceleration and truck seems to wanna go a little more. Over all I am very satisfied with it. Just my .02. Just thought I would give a simple review for anyone thinking of getting it. I cant say if its any better or worse than BHAF since I have not tried BHAF as of yet but I…

  2. I've been around this block before, Which comes first, the puck or the fooler. Here are some diagrams to explain my theories. also, I'm thinking of trying to add a smoke switch, but I seem to be getting two stories 1. the signal voltage INCREASES as boost pressure increases. 2. the signal voltage DECREASES as boost pressure increases. It would also seem that having a Boost Fooler between the "Smoke Switch" and the ECM harness would eliminate the need for a resistor inline with the switch as the fooler should keep you boost signal from getting out of spec.thoughts, theories, b!#@#*$ or complaints welcomed...I have a thick skinA correction on the diagrams: Ignore anyth…

  4. *also posted on cumminsforum.comHow is the BHAF affected by driving in heavy rain? Is there a possibility that it would get wet from the water going up through the wheel well past the shock tower? If it gets wet will it ruin the paper element? I don't run a heat shield, but do they help keep the water out of the filter? Thanks!

Hi guys, Well I am in the process of getting my gauges. (Boost Pyro, and tranny.) I put on my BHAF, adjustable boost elbow, and raptor 150. After doing some more research I realized I need a boost fooler. (Could explain the poor performance I am getting from the truck while towing. :banghead: loss of mpg and power?) I will more than likely get the edge comp for a chip but can't swing it right now. Plus I don't have the money on the backside to upgrade the tranny because I know I won't stick to running the box on level 1. Will this boost fooler work or should I look for another plug and play model?http://www.parleysdieselperformance.com/products/quadzilla-boo…

Now that I have conquered the front end on this thing, It is time to start saving for some fun stuff! I am pretty set on not getting too crazy with it, and I would like to maintain my mileage so the rv275 sounds like the right way to go for me. Just wondering where you guys have gotten yours, if you got the full injectors or just the nozzles. Also if you just get the nozzles are there any precautions I should be aware of. Chris

  7. it is interesting to note that the FSM says to replace the whole starter, instead of servicing the wear parts. it worked with no problem...then one day....*click*click* i wondered if you could push start a diesel, but realized that i couldn't get that truck up to speed to even try:lmao: i will mention that while i was waiting for $ and shipping to my door, i took the contact that was the most wore, and made the hole for the stud longer to allow the contact to be closer to the plunger. worked no problems until i got the contacts(6 months later, i know im a procrastinator) (1) Disconnect and isolate negative cables of both batteries. (2) Raise and support vehicle…

  8. So I decided to swap over to amsoil when I did the clutch and ever since then, the trans makes a really loud grinding noise in 4th from 1250-1500. The more load on it the louder it gets. I like to try different things out but this noise is just ridiculous. I made a vid but for some reason all you hear is the engine so I might have to tape the cam underneath or take the shifter boot off or something. Anyone got a reason as to why switching made it do this? I used the gold plated stuff before and it never made a sound. I've heard nothing but good stuff about the redline GL4 stuff so I might try that next. Think my trans has so many miles it makes all the flaws in flu…

So while my truck is in the body shop i'm sitting back thinking of the things I want to fix or replace on it during this overhaul i'm doing on it. For the past 2 years i've had a psi gauge taped fast to the steering column with electical tape and if i'm dumping this kind of money into a body job, shouldn't I be able to spend some money and get some gauges? There lies the problem ,right now i'm running a Quadzilla XZT module and only gauge I have is fuel psi. I've been wondering if I should go with a 3 pillar set up of fuel, egt and boost, or should I ditch the XZT and buy an Adrenaline with pulse and get the gauges that way. I know, more money then the pillar set up, but…

Well gang... I made a trip down to Mountain Home ID in poor weather and the outside temp was ranging between 50-70*F and the IAT was range 85*F to 110*F. Now what I found out with cold wet weather is that it tends to kill off the MPG rather quickly. Now with flooded highways and cold moist air just pulled my MPG's down to about 18 MPG which happens to be about -2 off from my typical normal. Now the Next day making a routine trip to Riggins, ID I still came back to my typical 20 MPG average but the weather was dry for the moment, warmer, and IAT was staying more so in the 100-110*F bracket.

  11. i have been chasing a problem on my truck for a while now and it has cost me alot of money. i have noticed a difference in my truck for a while now and have replaced just about everything. my truck does not seem to have the same umff it use to have. my throttle does not have that load on it like it use to have. it does not pull hard like it use to. my boost numbers are lower(47 max with wastegate hose plugged). i use to be able to hit 58. its a combination of everything and it is driving me nuts. here is a list of stuff i have replaced: vp44, timbo apps, neighbors whole tps, map sensor, iat sensor, trans sensor, no boost leaks, 3 different injector sets, swapped out diffe…

  16. Sorry, Newbie here. Unfortunately, as a farmer, I have very limited play money, I can't afford a $4-600 programmer, however I was recently able to swing a Diablo Sport Power-Puck. Everything I've read suggested that it is the best bang for the buck. As advertised, it made a definite improvement, but there is still a definite turbo lag. I know, that's the nature of the beast. I was wondering what effect a boost fooler and/or Boost elbow would have combined with the power puck. Does the Puck already do boost fooling, or would it help or hinder. Also where would the fooler go, between the MAPP sensor and the Puck, or between the Puck and the stock harness? Any help would be …

  18. Well guys, With a lot of input from you all I got things sorted out a bit on my 2000. First off I installed new KYB mono max shocks on all 4 corners; much better ride! Then came a Lukes link kit on my track bar as well as a PSC steering stabilizer...HUGE difference! Installed my AD 150 with the big line kit between the stock fuel bowl and vp44 and a Draw straw 1 from vulcan . Got rid of my drop in k&n and installed a BHAF amsoil 4510 with a pre-filter. Changed the transmission oil and installed a Fuller eaton filter kit with amsoil synthetic syncromesh 5 w 30 (for less than half the cost of mopar fluid too! ) Also got a great deal on a frantz filter set up thanks to M…

  19. Started by uber racing,

Well I finally got a chance to install my 150's from jkidd. My first time changing them out on on of these. Read over Mikes write up and went with out a hitch. I must agree though the lines on #6 are a SOB! Worst part was trying to get the nut threaded up again! After assembly bled a couple lines and all's good. the truck seemed to be a little quieter and idled smoother. Took for a little test drive with my PM3 turned off. It felt very similar to running with my box on PL5. Now I have to say I didn't ripp the thing but I did feel pretty good. Rolls a little coal if I nail it. Hopefully when I get the HE351 installed will be that much better.
