Just found a good deal on a slightly used Bully Dog GT tuner for my 2010 Hemi, got it for less than half of new and it was only used for a few months as the guy traded his pickup in and kept the tuner. http://www.bismanonline.com/bully_dog_gt_for_hemi_vehicle_tuner_and_multi_gau/?app_track=member_message Am also looking at the best option for a limited slip carrier for the rear end as well, never in my life have driven a vehicle this long without a limited slip of some sort in the rear and this thing has driven me crazy long enough so hopefully I will have one locked down in a few weeks once I decide the best bang for the buck for it.

I have a crazy question to ask. My first dodge truck was 1971 ¾ ton with a gas 360 engine. What a beast. Of course it did not remain stock for long but that is another story. Here in Mobile Alabama I made friends with an older gentleman that built and sold Dodge trucks from junk. He knows every nut, bolt and screw that goes in one. His trucks were not pretty but would run forever when he got through rebuilding one. I came to see him one day since I repaired all of the cracked frames where the steering was attached. Another long story to tell if anyone wants to hear it I will tell you how we never had any more cracks. To get on with my story and question I bought a 1-ton D…

OK from my research for rear carriers I found that 2010 was a crossover year for the 1500 as far as rear axles went, there are 3 different rear axles one being a 10.5 inch ring gear and the confusion comes with the 2 different 9.25 inch ring gears, one is a standard Chrysler and one is the newer Chrysler "ZF" 9.25 and there is a lot of confusion about the two and how to tell the difference. I have been searching for a while and most forums get off topic on the subject but I finally found a link with great info on this for future reference. Issues popped up when folks wanted to change gear ratios and the aftermarket stalled out for a couple years not wanting to R&…

Hey all, I was wondering if anyone has put seat covers in their trucks and what ones were good or bad? I need to put something on my seats, as the driver side seat is in pretty bad shape. Its a 99 2500 and when I bought it in 2001 the seat already had a rip on the drivers side. Well that has turned into a really bad seat tear. I want covers that fit really nice. Any ideas out there? Talk to me Goose.

The headliner in the 2002 Ram 2500 that I drive is coming loose in several areas. The back seat area has fallen down in a big way and now in front of the drivers side (front of the sun visor) its now loose as well. Is there any way to glue it back up that will hold for a while? I really do not want to take the entire head liner down unless its not that difficult. Thx, Joe

It seem like the ol' 1996 is finally giving me some grief. No longer have 1st gear unless I manual shift to 1 or 2 gear then it engages 1st gear. But I'm getting 2 error codes. http://articles.mopar1973man.com/2nd-generation-24v-dodge-cummins/59-obdii-error-codes/385-p1762-gov-press-sen-offset-volts-too-low-or-high http://articles.mopar1973man.com/2nd-generation-24v-dodge-cummins/59-obdii-error-codes/387-p1764-governor-pressure-sensor-volts-too-low With the amount of miles I've got on the truck at 156k and it the original transmission I'm opting to let Lindy's friend in McCall, ID do the service work to the transmission. If he sees anything else while the pan …

I've seen HOAT antifreeze explained 2 different ways Hybrid Organic Acid Technology Hybrid Organic Antifreeze Technology. I got what I needed in 'searching'... CONFUSED! Edit: after reviewing my OP, the underscored HOAT says it's Hybrid Organic Additive Technology!!!! My jeep (as well as pretty much all Mopars since ~early 2000's ) need this. This antifreeze is NOT to be mixed with the older stuff, it'll turn to glop. One is ethylene, the other propylene glycol... not sure which is which! My vm diesel is an iron block, aluminum head, and has the famous Chrysler electrical system hanging upon …

Ya'll know by now I have a 2006 jeep. Came with 1 key. I've just been baptized into the SKIS generation! My only key has the door lock, unlock, panic, and tailgate glass opening buttons. I've read where I can buy a blank key, have it cut to fit, and as long as I have 2 original keys, I can 'tell' the computer to program the new key. Without the 2nd key, I'm stuck with going to the dealer?? How about higher ended locksmiths? Without that key, and it's little chip, I'd really be up a creek! Does the battery run both the chip, and the locking functions?

I've had the pot hole damage fixed in the front where I bottomed it... a few days ago, I started hearing a thump/bang on some bumps but not all. Eventually I eliminated all my scooter / walker parts & decided it coincided with the rear wheels. It sounded like the right rear. I took it by the wheel & brake shop yesterday, they/I looked at it, dropped it off last night. The rear link that keeps the axle under the car... the mounting bracket was broken in half, on the frame. Pot hole problem with auto damage is all over the news... it's like playing dodge 'em. Actually if you break a wheel or become disabled in the pot hole, the state or city will pay fo…

There are reports on the net about the winch cable failing from rust or the 'dog bone' rusting thru and loosing the spare wheel. In some cases near fatal accidents have happened. Other reports are that the winch won't come down leaving folks stranded without a spare. Todays project is to mod this problem out of the equation.

First off... I am confused if this is as "SE" or "SXT" trim model. I think in 2014 new models... one can't get the V6 in SE trim. Perhaps in 2012 you could. The car has everything I asked for... V6, automatic, power seat, color dark grey... What I didn't ask for is alloy wheels. Now that I've signed the agreement, it's beginnning to bug me. I didn't look closely at the wheels but I think they are faux mag style wheel covers... over steel wheels. I'll be sure tomorrow. The tires have been armour-all'ed but are original (32,000 on them). I'm definately "Old School" style wise. a lot of alloys don't appeal to me. Cost is a factor as well. Any sugge…

I am enjoying driving my almost new car... figuring out where to put things & deciding what to put in the new car. I am very fussy about where I want my GPS. I want it high in the dash level with the guages. For now, I'm using a air vent mount but I am not liking it any more this time than last... not solid enough for my taste. I found a listing for Proclip center mount 854646 which spans the air duct after being forced under the trim but I think $29 is too much to pay for half a mount... still need a devise holder. Only available by direct sale. http://www.proclipusa.net/instruction.php?sku=854646 I am going to make copy in a thin but hard aluminum f…

I've got a really cool Boss to work for down at the shop. Well today we finished our work load a bit early and decided to clean up the shop and our tools early. I caught Lindy combining two jugs of aluminum brightener. Then he spins around and says' "Pull your truck over by the power washer." I responded I don't have aluminum mags on that truck (1996) its got chrome wheels." So I do any ways. So he tells me to man the power washer and rinse after he scrubs then down lightly. I rinse the first wheel off and OMG! Talk about removing a bunch of brake dust and brighten that wheel up. He continues to do the wheels and then the bumpers and the grill. Talk about looking really n…

When I married my wife, I had the honor of meeting her Uncle and from day one, (actually within the first three hours) we had argument. Got to the point over the years we argued over almost everything. Not really arguments, but deep down discussions that would drive our wives crazy. Fact is, over the years they got to enjoy them sometimes and joined in. Became a game with us. The gentleman recently passed (age 90) and a special part of my life ended. His wife said the last time we visited that towards his end, he told her that he will miss 3 things, her, the kids and our 'discussions’. It spurred his circulatory system up to no end knowing I will always go with the opposi…

Well yesterday we had our delivery guy Dennis call up with a complete failure. Van died no start and no power. So Stephanie (Boss Lady) calls the local towing service and had him towed to the shop. Sure enough the battery was dead. So I pulled the Cummins up and set the 6 cylinder high idle and charge the battery. Got it fired up and brought it up to the side of the building where I work. We figured the alternator was dead. It just a smaller version of the ND alternators on the Dodge Ram's. So today alternator shows up I get it installed and it was charging good at 14.6 VDC. Sent the Dennis on his way. Less than hour goes by he calls again the CHECK ENGINE light is on. Cr…

So as the title say's I am STILL (lol over a month or two now) trying to remove the Pitman arm from the bottom of my 2001 dodge 1500 4x4. And so far it's been a pain in the butt to say the least. We can get the nut off really easy and it is all really clean aswell mostly cause the Seal in the Gearbox is bad and leaks fluid. I bought the Repair kit and thought it would be a quick fix....Wrong.. lol But at this point we've broke my Pitman arm puller, the one from my work and 2 of my negihbors pullers from his work it snaps the fingers right off it just won't budge. To me the last hope is to heat it with a Torch but i dont won't a fire or the destroy the gearbox does anyone …

My son will be getting out of the hospital soon, don't think he'll be riding his Harley soon. He has a 99 1500 ram pickup with the 5.9 gas motor. Has been over heating. He replaced the thermostat, didn't help. He's convinced the water pump is next. I've never seen a water pump fail for any reason besides weeping and bad bearing. Not cause over heating. What else is a likely reason for the over heat problem?
