  2. Well I have started to Mod my 2010 and most recently I added a Ranch Hand Summit full front bumper replacement and I also put on the optional front receiver with it. Along with that I added a Top gun Customz 2.5 inch leveling kit that included .75 rear coil spacers. I measured from the center of the front wheel hub to the bottom edge of the fender and after a couple weeks with the new bumper it dropped 1/2 inch and after the leveling kit and a couple hundred miles to settle everything in and after an alignment I gained exactly 2 inches over stock on the front. I also added an Access bed cover and a rear receiver hitch. On order are factory front axle and t-case skid plat…

Alright so lately the passenger side front tire has been doing this death wobble crap. Verrrry mild, I know what the real death wobble is and this is more of an imbalance, but it has got progressively worse and was pretty bad yesterday. I am not a suspension/axle guy at all and I really doubt it has anything to do with death wobble but I just wanted to confirm that this is probably just bad u-joints? What else could it be? It doesn't really do it in a straight line but moreso when you are turning left where the weight of the vehicle is shifted to that passenger side tire. Sometimes it does it sometimes it's smooth as silk, just has to have something "set it off". …

97 Cirrus... strange things happening. I believe the heart core is leaking... has been since winter since the Defrost foggs the windshield. With AC ON, set to recirculate, I went to defrost to circulate some fresh air (less antifreeze to breathe)... and got hot air. Today when I turned down the blower on AC, I seemed to get hot air from the left either dash vent or defrost... In both cases I quickly cancelled the action... but I'm wondering if I have a stuck blend door. The Cirrus is due for a trip to the shop... any thoughts before I do???Russ

I need to get a bigger vehicle for my mail route and am thinking about a 2000ish dakota. Anyone have any thoughts on them. I used my moms 98 1500 with 360 on the route for about a year and except for breaks and mpg it did great. That was in early 2002 so fuel wasnt high though. Here is a truck i might look at tomorrow. http://tampa.craigslist.org/pnl/ctd/3143065218.html I need something cheap and im not scared of high mile trucks, infact I preffere them.

I just replaced the steering rack in my friend's 2002 1500 4WD. It was actually quite and easy swap. It took me about 2hrs to get the old one out, due to just figuring out how/what all comes apart, and the power steering lines with their odd sizes :shakehead: The new one went in like buttah.. About 20 minutes and I had the new one in, all connected, and refilling the reservoir. I did the swap using jack-stands, a floor jack, and hand tools. If I had to do it again, I could probably knock it out in less than an hour, start to finish. I can't remember all the socket sizes, but, it basically went like this: [*] ***SAFETY FIRST!*** [*]Cho…

  7. All, Friend of mine called and said during a 4-3 downshift while decellerating, he heard a snapping sound and his RPM surged as he let off the clutch pedal. Now the clutch isn't engaging, and it appears that the linkage to the fork is intact. The pedal has no slack, and the truck will not transfer any power from the engine to the wheels in any gear. I am on a job and can't get eyes on the problem, but appeal for your experience. Any ideas?

This is probably a dumb idea... but I'm toying with the idea of a MPG chip (never complain of few extra horses but most of driving is GrandPa driving, but even grandpa needs to accelerate to merge sometimes). The Cirris is no pup... but I think it's mechanically sound. It's my daily driver and better MPG would be real nice. Simple wiring or plug & play wanted.I see some add ons that appear to be IAT Foolers. Anything else I should look at?

Hi, I have an Dodge RAM 2500 from 2006 with 5.9 turbo diesel engine, and I am facing a problem, where my engine dosen’t idle. When I am starting my engine it idles correctly, but after few minutes the idle is rough (when motor is warming up). When I step on gas it rews up about 3500rpm and stays there and when I put my car in gear, then it idles correctly. There are no fault codes seen and I have no Idea what to do.Has anybody have that kind of problem or have any idea what might be wrong. I have told from the repairshop, that my ECU might be broken, but I hardly belive them.

  11. I've been told that getting above 14 MPG with a V8 Magnum 5.9L Dodge Ram is tough well I've gone and broke that barrier... As for written fuel logs here is the last 2 back to back fill ups.147,376 - 147,068 = 303 Miles / 20.132 Gallons = 15.299 MPG147,686 - 147,376 = 310 Miles / 18.700 Gallon = 16.577 MPGThen when I rolled home... Cmg = Current MPG for Today and then Tmg = Total MPG for the tank...I'd say I'm doing just fine...

  12. Does anyone know if the fuel gauge sender is like the Cummins version? May even a lead on where to get one for a good price? I've got a bad spot in the sender up near the 7/8 of a tank where the gauge drops to empty and then at about 3/4 of tank it pops back up and works again...

Well I took a trip down to Ontario, OR to put fresh rubber on the 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 for the first time in 10 years. I desided to take the ScanGauge II for the trip and see if all my tinkering actually helped. I'm proud to report for traveling from New Meadows, ID to Ontario, OR I barely made 17.0 MPG... On normal old 87 octane gasoline. Threw a set of fresh 235/85 R16 to the truck and headed for home with a full load of fuel and groceries... But here is the twist it started raining just as we left Ontario, OR temp fell to about 40-45*F and flooded the highway fairly well. Still pulled 15.3 MPG rolling in the yard. I'm a happy 96 dodge Ram 1500 owner...

Well you'll recall that I had a garage replace the failed transmission lines. They used rubber lines & super-duper clamps. Yesterday the transmission stopped transmitting... the trans side of the engine bay was dripping transmission oil I ended up getting a ride home & AAA took the Cirrus back to the garage. I stopped there on my way home today (had doctor's appointment so I took the CTD to be big city. YUCK!!) The shop admitted their line had blown off. I'm hopeful this will be on them. This will be a test of the integrity of the shop. I know when I was turning wrenches, I never charged for do-overs. Sometimes, we'd find the job we'd do…

  16. Started doing it only when warmed up when it dropped to idle at a light... now coming on @ 1000 rpm... slowing down, coasting, etc. I don't know if I have test guages any more. It could be the switch failing. Or I could be flirting with a catastrophic failure.I do have a coolant leak in the heater core but the temp guage reads normal...

After wrecking my truck and the insurance company totalling it, I had it repaired. But before I could legally drive it, I had to get a level-3 MVD inspection here in Arizona. During the inspection, which took place in a small garage at MVD, the inspector asked me to step out while he checked the (i believe the term he used was) confidential number. He then closed the door so I couldn't see what or where he was looking. Have you guys got any idea what number he was looking for and where it is?

Alright so my truck is rotting away and its already beyond the point of getting it repaired with out spending a arm and a leg at a body shop a so I'm looking at swapping my driveline (engine, trans, t-case, axles) into another truck. I found a 98 1500 ext cab short bed with a seized engine that looks to be in really nice condition so what I'm wanting to know is if my front axle and all the steering linkages would bolt up to it. I know the engine, trans, t-case, and rear axle will all bolt right in but I'm not sure about the steering linkage stuff, I would think it would but I don't really know.

  20. I've read many threads about the Cold Air Intake system (CAI) on many website and there seems to be almost as many different understandings, beliefs or discriptions of the definition or understanding of this as there are members writing about it. Am I correct or not … Cold Air Intakes (CAI) draws air taken from a source of the locally ambient air of the region and stays taking air from this ambient source during the engine operations, and is constant to this local environment, which is non-changing except by atmospheric changes. If so, then inside the engine compartment, where the temperature is constantly changing as the engine builds heat while running and preforming it…
