Hey Gang...I dove off the deep end and created a dual boot computer with Linux (CentOS) and Windows Vista. So far I'm enjoying the Linux over the Windows... It's nice not have to worry about anti-virus software, firewalls, etc... Linux is such a rock solid operating system and works wonderful. There is things I'm still learning about Linux like installing programs, and such but with a little time and reading I'll bone up on how to do it right... So far like as I post this message I'm fired up on the Linux stystem and its so much faster than Windows...

I have a few weeks to our annual (2 week) re-enacting camping trip. Because of my disability, we will be just seting up a "day camp" in the re-enacting area & setting up the Toy Hauler camper in the remote parking lot. It is completely self contained, everything runs on propane or 12V... it has 3 good sized marine/RV batteries. I will be taking my battery powered mobility scooter (medical equipment gets an exemption). I'll need a small generator to run the battery chargers for the scooter & camper. I don't know what to get. I've heard the cheapies are junk... but the I've heard the same about the small Honda & Yamaha inverter types. I've concluded th…

Mike do you do the technical support for the forum?I like the site but I don't go there often due to the slowness of it all the time.Haven't been able to get into the forum from the welcome page as it just sits and thinks forever and I just give up on it. I get through maybe 1 in 5 tries and even when inside the forum it is the same slowness. Could you help get the bugs worked out please.:banghead:

Hey Gang... I've got a local guy here in Idaho that owns a semi-truck without trailer that has a issue with the Road Speed Governor. It limits the truck out to about 60 MPH and that's as fast as the truck will go. Does anyone know how to fix this issue on a Cummins ISM? Also the truck is for sale $4,900 bucks, fresh rubber and looks good... It's a old Food Service of America truck.

So, I'm pulling up into my driveway and I see a CBS channel 4 news van parked across the street from my house. I barely step foot on the ground and the news reporter rushes me asking me questions about an incident that ocurred a few months back. I told him I didnt want to interview, and he insists on asking me questions. I answered a few but with as little information as possible. I dont want it to be aired on the news tonight, WTF do I do?

Sometimes people sit back and complain about all the little stuff that goes on in their lives! Stuff that when you look back at it, isn't even worth complaining about! Then sometimes people take a look at all their blessings! Well today I'm looking at my blessings! I'm not a very religious person like I need to be! But the good LORD has really blessed me and keeps me in HIS hands! The reason I'm saying this, is that at about 3am I crawled in bed from work, was sleeping and my 7 yr old daughter was in bed with me! At about 5am I heard an electrical pop an a bright flash of light woke me up! So laying there a few minutes, eyes adjusting I don't see anything unusual! Then I …

The teacher gave her fifth grade class an assignment: Get their parents to tell them a story with a moral at the end of it. The next day, the kids came back and, one by one, began to tell their stories. There were all the regular types of stuff: Spilled milk and pennies saved. But then the teacher realized, much to her dismay, that only Janie was left. "Janie, do you have a story to share?" 'Yes ma'am. My daddy told me a story about my Mommy. She was a Marine pilot in Desert Storm, and her plane got hit. She had to bail out over enemy territory, and all she had was a flask of whiskey, a pistol, and a survival knife. https://m…

a private pilot is required to know the systems of his (specifically that one)aircraft in order to diagnose failures in flight... (it could save his life)obviously the consequences of not knowing your vehicle aren't equal since you can simply pull over..this is why you get the people who buy a souped up diesel that cant get over that it blows a bunch of black $hit all over.. i'll take the pride of puttin on every part myself and learning in the processand i'll take the pride in knowing that black $hit is coming from the work i did and it still holds together....well i hope:pray:knowing your systems can save alot of money and time... this website and moparman have definit…

so i was doing some thinking today on my way home since i started driving 65 rather than 70if i can gain 2mpg by doing 65 rather than 70 mph i will save (fuel at $4/gal) 3 cents a milei will use my situation.. Drive: 70 miles/day 20 days/month 1400 miles/month x .03 cents = $42now saving $42 a month doesn't seem like much but lets look at how much more time it takes for me to drive 70 miles a day at 65mph vs 70mph60min/70 = .857143 minutes/mile x 70 miles = 60 minutes of driving per day60min/65 = .923077 minutes/mile x 70 miles = 64.6 minutes a dayso if i save myself 5 minutes round trip thats 2.5…
