  3. So I had a bunch of random fire truck parts laying around the shop and I decided I was going to make a flag pole and holder for my truck. I used a piece of Pierce grab rail for the holder, it's attached to my tool box via grab rail stanchions off a Pierce. The flag pole itself is a piece of stainless rod used in ROM roll up doors on Pierces, the clips are off of Scott Air Pack Brackets, and the misc. hardware is all Pierce issued stainless hardware. Of course the first flag I had to fly was the 100th Anniversary of Pierce Fire Trucks flag

I've looked on CL locally, but dunno where there may be other popular places to look to find that apple of my eye...With the type of trailer I'm pulling, the idea of getting into another truck to pull this beast becomes more enticing to me.I'm pretty sure this sort of truck is out there, but at what expense or where??I would prefer:98.5 Dodge Ram 3500 dually 5 or 6 speed. Extended cab longbed, with the 99-02 interior but has the 12 valve engine and tow mirrors. If I can find it with less than 100k miles, I would be all ears! Price is not a big problem... Anyone seen this gem?

  6. I should know better. I generally don't turn around out by the barn/camper. It's just tight spaces & not worth the effort... but we found a new spot for the camper. I was using the Cirrus to take things in & out from the house. So I managed to bump the bumper turning around. I had marker poles on the backhoe but the lady that does my mowing (wife) had moved them. Yes, I bumped the flat side of the bucket in my blind spot. Really bummed me out. I was going quite slow naturally & it was a flat surface though it was where the bumper curved. Just what I need this HUGE construction yellow boo-boo to show the world. (Actually it wasn't that big & no o…

I can't help but laugh.. But I also do feel sorry for the guys in a way too...On my dreaded trip to Yakima, I encountered a couple fords on the side of the road. Hazards were on and was getting hooked up by the other to be towed by a couple chains.I pass them up and go on my way. I make a few hills and this and that cruising on average between 50-55mph. Not too much longer after, I see them PASSING me. Wow... okay, so someones got some brains! As irony goes, lo' and behold, I see them at an off-ramp, with both of them on the shoulder of the off-ramp with the one towing the other broken down from over-heating! :lmao:The cloud was a billowing from that ford! It was only a ma…

SO, the big day had came...My job finally called me to leave town and head out for the work. Took a while to pack and get everything situated. Seemed all like a blur to me!Biggest struggle me and the wife had was trying to figure out wha absolutely had to be packed and what did not. I made it a goal to not exceed 1k lbs. in goods. We did our best. We set out, weighing EVERYTHING! It was probably the most time consuming part of it all!We finally reached a final weight of 880lbs! Under our 1k lb. goal. But I saw it as a good thing to have less, as we will obviously have extra weight when we move it again after living in it for a while. Things like groceries, etc.So we striv…

I'm on vacation this week and we decided to go to the Great Smoky Mountains! It is really some beautiful land over here. Anyway my dad and I were cruising down a long stretch of mountain! Daddy said son you're getting some good fuel mileage. So I snapped a picture of it! Too bad it's not the average mileage though! Here is a picture of me and my beautiful daughter standing in 2 states!

  14. that is interesting to me as my work (largest ford dealership in Indiana) has been get a used dodge ram with cummins as either trade in or from car auction (ADESA). I did inspection on all cummins trucks since I has own mine and work on those before... but the point is The Cummins truck are very quicker to sold than used ford trucks at my work except 7.3L.... even when I had worked on 2006 dodge ram 3500 dually as had bad clutch pedal feeling from clutch release bearing(aka throwout bearing). I was pulled the G56, the buyer was looking around the truck (the truck was on top position of lift machine), the buyer had chat with me on paper and pen as ask me what is wrong w…

It's that time of the year again.... stand around and hand pick 100 broilers. Boy, am I ready to 'mechanize' this part of the operation! Been looking at either EZ plucker rotary drum chicken plucker or buy the parts to make a Whiz-bang. (very similar to each other in design). I can 'pick' a chicken in 10-12 minutes, but these things can have 90-95% of the feathers removed on 2 birds in 20 seconds. Anyone here have experience with these contraptions?
