I started getting a little use out of autocad that might actually be worthy. I sense a few writeups coming on. Maybe. Anyone got a special request? I've just been taking parts off my truck and bringing them up here

Ok, so here's the rundown..I replaced my electric water heater a few years ago; maybe 5-6 yrs. It's an electric unit, 50 gallon, 240VAC.A few weeks ago, I replaced the upper thermostat and both elements, due to lack of hot water.Last night, my daughter got in the shower. 10 minutes later, water was ice cold. This morning, I shaved and used a little hot water. Afterward, about 5 minutes later, I hopped in the shower.. Warm water was the best I could get out of it, and that lasted about 3 minutes, then it turned ice cold..I haven't investigated it yet, but this is insane. The breaker isn't tripped, so that isn't the issue.. I just don't know WTF is going on. The old ele…

I've researched the available options & other ideas I've had. I decided to use some SS strap eye anchors. I came up with a dozen from a marine consignment source. They take #10 fasteners & will fit on the inside edge of the bed between stake pockets. I think these will be a useful addition for light loads.

What's the best reasonably priced vacuum y'all can recommend to me?? My current one is about 10 years old and I've never really liked it from day 1. As of now, it's last legs and doesn't suck so well any more. That's a serious observation also!!!! Thanks in advance.

I finished my shopping, packed my car (Cirrus). I find it's hard to dig out my keys once seated, so I've been putting my keys on the car dash in front of the wheel. Right handy once I get settled. Today was a cold day... about 30 with a stiff wind blowing. As I was getting in, the keys fell off the dash, hit the steering column... and disappeared down the tilt wheel slot! Crap-o-la!!I tried tilting the wheel down & I could just touch them but they were jammed. I tried the coat-hanger hook but FAILED. I ended up with them falling all the way to the knee panel. I couldn't reach behind it. I tried fishing some more. No luck. I couldn't see the screws but eve…

What do you guys do for fun when not working or driving your diesels? I have a couple hobbies. I drag race a 80 Monte Carlo with a 454 BBC and I offroad a 87 Samurai. I built them both from the ground up. I have built and owned over 20 Samurais in the last 5 years, its a sickness. The Monte runs the quarter in 10.97@ 122 and the Samurai will go where a quad can't. They aren't anything fancy, but the family and I enjoy getting out and exploring the back country. Lets see some pics of your toys and hobbies. Cheers Moparites

The Toothbrush Salesman. The kids filed into class Monday morning. They were all very excited. Their weekend assignment was to sell something, then give a talk on salesmanship. Little Sally led off. "I sold Girl Scout cookies and I made $30" she said proudly. "My sales approach was to appeal to the customer's civil spirit and I credit that approach for my obvious success." "Very good", said the teacher. Little Debbie was next. "I sold magazines" she said, "I made $45 and I explained to everyone that magazines would keep them up on current events." "Very good, Debbie", said the teacher. Eventually, it was Little Johnny's turn. The teacher held her …

Who was Thomas Jefferson ? This is amazing. There are two parts. Be sure to read the 2nd part. Thomas Jefferson was a very remarkable man who started learning very early in life and never stopped. At 5, began studying under his cousin's tutor. At 9, studied Latin, Greek and French. At 14, studied classical literature and additional languages. At 16, entered the College of William and Mary. At 19, studied Law for 5 years starting under George Wythe. At 23, started his own law practice. At 25, was elected to the Virginia House…

I think you guys might find this neat. Basically you enter all but the g/kWh initially, based on your data plate. For instance, my engine says 215hp, 2600RPM, 103mm3... The spreadsheet is saved with my specs so you can see where they are. The fuel density should be left alone as thats the average density of diesel fuel, though I have it unlocked if you happen to know something about your fuel that I don't. You can see it calculates the g/kWh...This is the engine efficiency! Once you know it, copy 3 or 4 decimal places worth into the cell next to it. Once that is done, you can mess with all the rest and treat the g/kWh and fuel density as static variables. I added …

I can't find the thread... I think Mike described his winter tires. A taller narrower tire, same diameter. I'm thinking of picking up some 16" stock steel rims and real winter tread. I don't use the truck much in winter, but with Sheila's Subaru gone, it's our only 4X4.

I have air adjustable shocks (Rancho 9000XL) and have a small air compressor and control panel used to adjust the shocks at will. This little compressor doesn't put out much air and can't really be used for any other function.I am considering setting up on-board air (compressor and tank with necessary controls) so that I have enough volume and pressure to run of few more accessories (air horn, exhaust brake) and have the ability to air up tires, float tubes and/or do any other general maintenance things that I might need while out in the field.I have been doing some research on what kinds of 12v compressors are used in these kinds of situations and I am finding more opti…
