The time has come to produce the Mopar1973Man High Idle & MPG fooler switches again.

Posted

Well Gang,

The Board of Directors on the Mopar1973Man.com has decided that we need to produce some new High Idle Switches for the 2nd gen 24V Cummins.  We have spent a considerable amount of time designing a Brand New High Idle / MPG fooler Switch.

We have learned from the last switch design and have made significant improvements.  The New High Idle / MPG Fooler switch will be the same price as before, but it will be more robust and modular to allow for easier install.

We have decided to only offer a "Install Anywhere  Kit" rather than a gauge mount or Cubby Mount.  You will nly have to drill one 1/4" hole to allow for the fitment of the switch.

Some teaser pictures.

We are making 50 switches to start then another run of 50 after that.  You can order them from The Mopar1973Man.com Store I expect to have them ready to ship within a 6 week time.

All high idle sales will be here on the site for here on out. We will be the producers, vendors and the support team rolled into one...

  • I finally installed my high idle switch today.  I put in in the overhead console.  The cable that comes with the switch is just a little too short.  I ordered a 12" extension from Amazon and I was abl

Correct. All the switch does is tell the ECM that the engine and intake air temps are cold. The ECM will then ramp up the idle to 6cyl or 3cyl at 1200rpm, depending on your selection.

The dealer is the one who will enable the high idle on the ecm??

some final testing needs to be done, but we are off to the races.  Assuming no major issue I see us having these in the Mopar1973man.com store ready for purchase.

Looks promising that this new switch might fit up in the overhead trip computer blank. I'm loving how subtle this new switch is, instead of requiring a full gauge pod or cubby hole to mount it.

Will the wiring be long enough to route to that point?  That would interest me as well.

Currently we are offering these with 10' section.  I don't think that will allow for enough to do the overhead, but we will work towards that on the next run of switches.

I will verify tonight to make %100 sure, but I don't think 10' is enough.

I cant wait to get my hands on one of these, it would be nice to have mpg fooler.

Then the harnesses need to be completed.  I am thinking by mid next week you guys will see these in the store for sale.  The price of these switches will be the same as before, $150.

Thank

Ughhhhh!! The wait is killing me! haha

Looking good fellas! It'll be really nice to get one of these, especially with the weather cooling down pretty quickly!

Keep up the good work! It's much appreciated! :thumb1:

No. These are strictly the old length yet. Give us some time for the next batch and we'll see if we can make it longer for overhead console use. Nice part is it just the cable need to manufactured longer. Being modular you can change that fairly easy.

I about had a heart attack after looking in the store and seeing the switches for sale and sold out!!

Then I realized that they haven't been put up for sale yet.

Alright 25 switches are ready to ship.  As soon as Mike and I figure out the shipping labels we will get these in the store and they will start being shipped out.
