Just figured I'd pass it along that WalMart has a good price on Rotella T 15W-40 engine oil for $64.58 for 5 gallon bucket. ($12.91 a gallon).

Then doing a bit of digging even NAPA is a good price for Chevron Delo 15W-40 at $63.99 a 5 gallon bucket. ($12.79 a gallon)

  • In 2005 I bought 6- 6 gallon cases from Costco at just over $39/case.  I still have 8 gallons left.  When you find a good deal stock up if you can because nothing ever costs less.

Good stuff Mike!

Ive always thought we should have a thread dedicated to this sorta stuff. Like someone finds a smokin deal on a part or has a good discount code people could use.

In the Walmart's out this way the Rotella in 5 gallon buckets always cost more per gallon than buying one gallon jugs. Bought some Delo here at home the other week and they did not even have the 2.5 gallon jugs.

Nice thing about Walmart is free shipping...  Which is nice for those like me who get into town once a month or so.

The jug type I get is typically based on price and what it's going into.  The forwarder takes almost 5 gallons and has a fill-up spout perfect for a bucket.  The john deere on the other hand is horrible.

2.5 gal jugs are sometimes cheaper still. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Shell-Rotella-T-15W-40-Heavy-Duty-Diesel-Oil-2.5-gal./14958359

A tractor supply might have it cheaper.

2.5 gallons for $29.99 http://www.ruralking.com/shell-rotella-t-15w40-2-5-gallon-diesel-motor-oil.html

That's a good price, even in 2005.

What's the shelf life of Delo 400? A quick search showed 60 months, but I didn't look too deeply into it.
