I feel that it is time to start building a list of tunes that we all use.

Please learn what each tuning variable does.  There V2 tuning article covers everything in depth along with a video explaining each item.

This tool will allow you to edit Quadzilla tunes from your PC.

Update 1/15/17 V2.2 tunes should include timing maxes for various RPM's and fuel load timing

Not at this point. We are working on something that will enable measureing those as well but we don't have them in production yet. It will be some time.  -thanks again,

  • yep, most complain coming to V2 tuning because they are used to the butt dyno telling them "WOW I just touch the throttle and it jumps out of it's own skin"       what people don't consider

Boy this thread is alive and kicking, :violin:

So if the idea is to max out canbus asap without exessive smoke, my question is for mpg tune if I'm starting out at 78 canbus with 3.8 curve it would put me at 90.5 canbus at 4 psi boost. Which with 75hp injectors I'm probably close to factory truck. I'm just trying to figure out how is more canbus better, why not detune the truck when you don't need power. Unless it doesn't work that way.

Another question, if these trucks came with retarded timing for emissions, and advancing it is better for mpg and performance. Wouldn't retarded timing be worse for emissions, not all fuel is burnt and probably something else I can't think of at this moment.

Any one have their tunes posted for trucks comparable to mine? 6x.013 injectors hx35(62/64/14)over s475 compounds? looking for good starting point as im finaly about to finish up the overhaul. looking for a clean dd tune with good mpg but isnt boring to drive, safe tow tune, and a race tune where power is key and byproducts (like smoke) dont matter to much. any input is great. i skimmed over the whole thread didnt see much comparable.. maybe i missed one or two. will be doing the base line tunes here in the next 2 weeks (after break in) but would like a jump start if anyone has any ideas! thanks guys

you will need to find your start %, but I am guessing it will be in the ~%70 range for a clean DD tune.  I would try tylers tunes and see how they work.

Steps for figuring out a good starting point of a big injector truck

1. put the quad to lvl 1.

2. create custom tune

3. use valet mode power setting to set a fueling % to start with.  IE put 75% as your valet power.

4. load the tune on the iquad

5. go WOT from a stop.

Is it too smokey?  if so decrease valet mode power.  Is it too slow?   increase valet mode power.  You want to throw as much fuel at the truck at WOT as possible to balance power vs smokey offidle.

Do this until you find a good starting % for your tune.  once you have that use that % as the starting point for your canbus tuning.

i kinda thought tylers may be the closest i could see. thanks. I'll start by finding that %

So I played a bit with updated flash and light throttle timing, what i noticed is cruse timing is higher now then before, even default tune. before I'd be cruising at 65 and have 18.5 19 for timing now at default it's above 20, not sure why. By the way my default tune and my race tune are about the same on power and spool up, just more smokier lol. Do we know the base maps for default tune, can it be rode down like custom tunes so we can see canbus, timing, etc. My mpg tune is smoke free but it's a dog, driving down a hwy switching from default to mpg feels like i lose few cylinders but if I increase canbus then smoke becomes evident. I can now drive about 63,4 mph and only have 1-2 psi of boost, where as before i would be around 7-8 that is probably caused by bigger turbo. So just looking for some input as usual,

light throttle timing tacks on 1* after 55 mph.

What about that tune does not fit towing application?  Too much fuel, to little?  is it too hot etc?

1 hour ago, Me78569 said:

Haven't figured that out yet. Mainly just wondering is since this is more of a dd tune, if the timing settings were going to be a little aggressive or not wanted to just get some input before i wrecked something.

  • Author

I would run it and see how it acts.

You won't wreck anything.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hey has anyone ever made an experimental tune for play purposes only? For example 150% can bus all the way through the boost range and TPS pump max set to 0%? Would this not make the truck behave like a smarty & edge stack smarty on 9 edge on 6?

Obviously wouldn't drive with this tune. Maybe putt around a parking lot and see how much it smokes.....

Edited by crf450ish

Setting to %150 across the board is pretty much identical to smarty on sw9.  If you bring in wiretap hard you can dump more fuel than any other tuner I have seen.

Run this.

I am saving up to do the 150's and the SXE turbo and springs and studs and pushrods all at once. Also putting a new titanium 150 pump on. I can't stand doing one thing at a time. Id rather pull it into my shop....install ALL the upgrades at once and pull it out. :thumb1:

So here's a dumb question... I have a 2001, in the vehicle selection you can pick 1998-2002 dodge v2 (version 2.5) or 2001-2001 dodge v2 (version 2.4) what's the difference and what one should I be using?

  • Author

what base flash are you using?  When is the last time your updated? If you look at your data log you should see a "build date" sensor what does that say

Build date 20170424.  I have no idea how to update the quad itself, the app is auto update anytime new release. My box says programmed with v2.3 tuning
