Yes age of membership. Little story how I found this site, I was on the CF and was replacing my clutch when Michael chimed in and got me on my way with South Bend Clutch. He then mentioned this site. It was slow I mean not very many folks on here, but everyone was polite and courteous. Hey back in the day, and I am sure it still goes on but you would have down right knock down drag outs on some of the other forums. Tough crowds. It was not long afterward and I was in the hospital with two mini strokes back to back. Bored out of my mind I told the wife to bring my laptop. And I was on this site all hours of the day and night, and the folks on here were just like talking to an old friend. And it still is, I been doing other things lately but I am hanging out in the back ground.

I came on in July of 2010. It was when my ECM crapped out. Found CF and tried to get some help there and the best suggestions I got was to check my grounds. Heard that from a lot sources. A lot of stuff just went unanswered. I kept seeing Mike's site recommended and I finally came over and visited. I was shocked when I called and he spent 2 hours talking to me. This is about my only foray into the forums other than lurking on some for the wife's car.

@jlwelding if I remember correctly you were going thru quite a time with your motor at the time I joined. I cant remember exactly what was wrong but I know you had a long list of things you had tried to fix with. It was ongoing saga as I recall.

I am thinking with that statement the saga still goes on.

Or JL sold the truck.

That was the 9k dollar cracked piston. You could start that motor in the morning and let it idle all day and it sounded like the best eng. you ever heard. Drive it 200 yards down the road and a slight miss would start. I did every test under the sun, rebuilt head, wiring ,3 sets of injectors, 4 sets of cross over tubes, let Cummins work on it. Austin injection made a bet with me they could fix it. If they fixed it I owed the bill, if they couldnt I didnt owe anything. Guess who didnt owe anything.lol. He was so sure I split the key way when I put the third injection pump on. No blow by because the crack was so small. Used a mano meter on it and it showed good. I sold the block to a guy that was going to make a 12 valve eng. out of it. I asked him to tell me what he found when he tore it down but never heard back from him. Michael would answer the phone what did ya replace this time? I seriously replaced everything on the outside of the eng. including the air intake, push rods you name it.

Hard to believe it was that long ago already!!!

CF really alienated a lot of folks back in the day.

BBRam regards.

I remember the first diesel forum I joined was back in 2002.  It was actually hard to be on the internet back then too due to dial up kicking me off the web.  And there was a period of time where my membership fell off because I hadn't signed in for so long.  Back when I worked harder and had far less free time.....

I cant remember when I joined Mopar1973man either but I have to say that this is probably one of the most polite forums I've ever been on.  Members here are just genuinely kind to one another. :thumbup2:
