It was finally time for front rotors and pads so I went ahead and did the 3rd gen caliper brackets, rotors and pads. I've ordered the brake line kit @jlbayes suggested a Russell 694540 as well. All I can say is it's well worth doing! Thanks @trreed for the positive report back after doing the conversion and towing with them...and I "borrowed " your pad comparison picture from your thread. 

And I "borrowed" that picture from Google!

I did same thing to mine for only 50 bucks extra that I would of spent on original replacement. We'll worth it to me. Did them caliper brackets came one original godge and one aftermarket? Assuming you got them in part store. 

Both new brackets for about $50. Well worth it. That picture was just a comparison between the old and new.

The reason I was asking is because brackets I bought from O'Reilly we're also new but on closer observation, Juan hat a Mopar emblem stamped into it and the other one didn't. And now that I had them a while one turned rusty and the other almost looks galvanized. Funny because I went to other parts stores just to compare both brackets and they all had same thing. It's almost like they all could get their hands on one original and one aftermarket. 

When I did mine they were OE Mopar brackets.

Mine were both OE as well, but when carquest rebuilt them (I got calipers as well), they must've left them bare metal because mine already have plenty of surface rust on them.

Well then for some reason town I live in had one of each, and I went to 3 different stores trying to get both mopar brackets. I'm over it now, been working fine, I did rebuild calipers and one is starting to hang up again probably only have 15k on rebuild. Rebuild kit was from China though.

I just replaced my resume/coast button. Ordered it from Rock auto. It was a Standard Motor products switch but when I opened the box it had the same blue Dodge sticker and part# on it.The one on the right is 17 years old.

So I looked at pads I put on when I did my breaks and just remembered I used wagner thermoqiuet which are ceramics, now thinking about buying some from rockauto wagner zx965 which are supposed to be semi metallic before I put deep groves in the rotors.

 

Food for thought, you may see an increase in brake dust with those. I went with Carquest severe duty semi-metallic pads, and the brake dust is absolutely horrible.  Also, they squeak really badly periodically.  Not saying the Wagner pads will do that (they are a very high quality product) but that's my experience with semi-metallics.  

 

Only reason I bring this up is because it annoys me when the shine of wheels gets dulled from brake dust.  I like seeing the wheel of light they reflect as they turn....

Yeah I agree on dust, that's part of the reason I went with these ceramics in the first place, you know I put close to 15k on them and they still look almost new, so I think I'll just live them be. With longer drives I do and exhaust break, not too much stop and go, they'll probably last a while anyway,  plus another reason for wife to give me shi. 

The semi-metallic will tear the rotors up as well.

I've been using the Hawk pads from Geno's, seem to work pretty well. They do get the wheels a bit dusty, but I keep a bottle of the McGuire's aluminum wheel polish and just spray them down with that every time I see it getting bad. Seems to keep things shiny and the cleaning is pretty easy.

I have the same stuff for my wheels, and I wash the truck once a week, so I can kinda keep it under control.  It gets really bad after I tow. Then the front wheels go from polished to gun-metal grey

Mine's lucky to get washed once every few months

Every week.  Body, roof, in the bed, wheels, under carriage, and engine bay all get soaped and rinsed.

If I washed mine every week, I'd have nothing to wash. It would float away with water.
