Life’s little surprises have put a near end to building the truck I want!  Lol I’ve decided to put all upgrades on hold for now. Going to drive my truck stock for a while until I can afford to do what I want! I’m forced to sell my current tuner because I have some bills too pay and it sucks!  I m planning to hopefully do some 50 hp sticks yo help with a little power and fuel economy are these the right size for max mpg? If possible I’d like to do @Mopar1973Man light upgrade so I can see the darn road lol .  I’m sure y’all have been down this road too?

@Marcus2000monster if I was going to spend money on a tuner few years back I would get an edge. I bought my quad about 7-8 years ago I think and chose it over edge because of more power and the whole

  • I did do something similar back in 1988.  I wanted a pickup or a van with a diesel engine and I became very frustrated at the choices available at the time.  Choices like a heavy V8 engine, no turboch

Here is an idea, I know you're not going to drive a car, how about a suburban with a 4bt in it. Or even drop one in your 96. I've always wanted a suburban with a 4bt just as a grocery getter  But

Steering box if yours wears out get an aftermarket one, steering box brace, 4th gen tierods if they fit on 2000 I know they do on 01-02.

329k miles and still going. When I get to this summer I'm going to rebuild the steering box using Ryan kit from BlueTop and control to use my OEM box. Only my second track bar in 329k miles, 1 set of ball joints, still running OEM tie rod ends. No steering box braces.

Simple solution drop to 235's you never have front axle issues. Even with offroad operation.

Makes total sense haha! True saying that is! I’m not out for more than 400 maybe 425 horsepower. Calculating Adrenaline and 75 sticks it comes too 470 which will prob end up being about 450. Still plenty of power for me. Mpg matters FAR more to me than loads of power. @Mopar1973Man have you ever dynoed your truck? Curious what your running for hp since our setup will be somewhat the same with the obvious exception of turbos...

Gotcha now... btw what banks Tuner do you have?

I’ve been over his a hundred times but I’ve still not made up my mind. But will a Ddrp with spring upgrade big line and banjo replacements easily support 400 hp?

I had a Banks Ottomind. Came with the stinger plus package. Bought it back in 05, it crapped sometime in 2011 or 2012. Not sure how different they are today. It was plug and play and worked quite well. You could do the same with the Quad and just use as much of it as you want and if you get bit with the power you will already have what you need for it tuner wise anyway.

As far as the DDRP, I don't know about it. If it were me I would go with a full FASS or AD for the filtration and know yoh are covered.

We're talking about abusing the truck with bigger tires lol and what can be done to make it half a.. decent, he has 4:10 and doubt he wants to swap gears as he needs money for quad, turbo, injectors,  etc.

But yes no argument at all with best MPG and longevity of the truck is to use pizza cutters, some of us are still yong and dumb :shifty: and want to play and pay :burnout:

I could do that eventually but I was told that the stock canister with a good filter is more than enough?

I have heard the same thing over the years and that more was needed. I went with the more crowd to be safe plus I I wantedntomrid myself of the in tank pump. It was a $900 POS. Inside of a year In was 5psi idling and near 0 at WOT

Patience, hydraulic press, dile indicator, yellow marking paint, lots of reading on how to. Not sure if I'd recommend it for you on a dd vehicle, need to practice on a bitter first. I did few sets in my life and it's not bad once you know what's involved, but if done wrong, and we're talking thousands then kiss your gears good buy and time money spent doing it.

Your saying you had the ddrp and it failed you?

Not to be a party pooper but 450 with the quad and 75hp sticks doesn’t sound feasible with a stock HX/HY. I’m by no means the turbo/inj/tuner combo numbers output guy, but from doing a lot of reading I think you’re gonna need more air to support the 450 mark.

As far as the DDRP, I’d those are your goals, I’d run a big boy FASS or Airdog. DDRP I’d only recommend if you were going to stay stock power.

Ha that’s fine by me if I don’t make that much hp! 375 or 400 is plenty! :burnout:Inreally should just go with a Fass 150 and do it right the first time.

No. Never had a DDRP. I lost the OE lift pump around 150k on a road trip. Had it towed to the nearest dealer and they replaced with the Dodge in tank pump. Did not last even a year.

Even I step up to the +75HP playground and the HX35/40 is a better turbo for that than the stock HX35.

True Mike but you don’t have a stock HX anymore! :hyper:

Not a huge jump but comparing 54/6012 (HX35W) to a 60/60/12 (HX35/40 Hybrid). Not quite a 62mm that most jump to but I wanted to keep my exhaust brake so it a good compromise between the two.

Eventually I would like to do either a hybrid or the He351cw swap. That won’t be for a long time.
