Anyone here rebuilt there hx35? I guess I’m going to attempt it myself tomorrow. Any tips or suggestions? Hope I don’t mess anything up. I plan to check for boost leaks before I rebuild it. Anyone have a diy tester they have built?

Most likely never see the smoke. Some pressure and spray bottle full of soap water mix works just fine.

I mean, if there’s oil in/around your turbo and I’d at least clean it and see if it comes back. How else you going to know where it came from?! Lol

  • Yes, your turbo is an HX35 @GSP7. Genuine Holset kits can be found at DAP for around $60.  Check if you have oil in the intake side. That's a sign you need seals. And any linear movement of the shaft

Thanks for the info Ben! I was never aware that injectors responded better in a HO pump. Iv noticed hat although the injectors add 75 hp a can bus 65 hp tune has wayyy more umphh than the injectors.

@Marcus2000monster I see you have hx35 kit up for sale.  I thought at one point you said your turbo seals were leaking. Did you replace your turbo, did I misunderstand or?

Decided to wait for now. I think the oil might actually be from the old s&b oiled filter.

  • ETC injectors (3944828) flow 640cc at the same test.

SO vs HO injector nozzle if I remember right there is a very small nozzle size difference. Less than 1 thousandths of a inch between the two. Again nothing to jump up and down about.

Tidbit. HotRod VP44 is the fact of mixing SO and HO pump parts tougher. Your totally gains is +21 HP typically and that HO advanced timing and like I will no advise using a tuner with timing against Hot Rod pumps. I've ran across on case where in the dead of winter it was creating a no start issue because of the excessive timing. (Hot Rod Pump plus tuner).

I’m assuming he’s talking about the oil you saw in/around the turbo

Nope I haven’t done anything. Should I be doing something?
