Any body using the  6.7 water pump in their 5.9... if so see any improvements like when towing in mountains stays cooler longer before fan comes on?  Any other pluses or minuses?

Thanks

I've not found a reason to even replace my OEM water pump after 350k miles. Still going strong. The biggest thing is coolant flushes, fresh thermostat and making sure the radiator face is clean.

I have never seen any reason to need more cooling on mine. It has always kept up with whatever and where ever I drive or tow.

Long story short.... keep the 5.9 pump.

So on a 5.9 would it be bad to have a 6.7 pump.  Even though the 6.7 pumps and moves more coolant, it also puts more pressure, which is  bad.  Do I understand this right?

Yes, more pressure can lead to freeze plug issues.

For the most part we don’t have cooling issues with 5.9’s.

Thanks.  I was thinking more coolant flow the better.  My thinking was incorrect.  Thanks for straightening me out.

Coolant flowing faster can actually lead to running hotter due to having less time to dissipate heat out of the radiator
