I would like to see some pictures of where people have put gauges in the 2001 dodge 3500 trucks.I don't see any real place to put any other then the pillars on the side, and I think that would be very hard.Thanks Ahead for any response to this postElshadow

You never run out of material do you I wired that to the grid heater relays so I can turn them off, or turn them on and it cycles like usual whenever it's under 60F. http://forum.mopar1973man.com/showthread.php/1278-Switched-Grid-Heater?highlight=switch+grid+heater

[*]On the Pillar

[*]Where mine are (floor)

[*]Above the dash

[*]A mount from the roof (might have seen something like that with semi trucks)

one thing i see while reviewing all these great mounting locations of gauges is this (my god man do yall ever use these trucks the interiors are way to clean) wheres the coffee stains and dust maybe even a dirty windshield or somethin, its like these are show trucks. oh and i really like the overhead gauges they get my favorite vote such pretty girly trucks:tease:

I stared at all the pics over and over and here is what I can figure out.

Pillar gauges--Make pillar even more hard to see around, but provide easy means of looking at your gauges

Overhead gauges--Great looks and all, but I was looking at my overhead temp to see how hard it was to read from a regular position, and it would be difficult to quickly read the gauge while staying between the lines.

Floor mount gauges--This is what I have, probably the hardest to see and keep the truck straight

Dash gauges--There is absolutely no downfall to this that I see, other than having gauges there that might be a little unsightly. They can be seen while keeping an eye on the road with ease.

So there is only one thing to do, heads up LED thing shining on windshield

- There is nothing girly about my beast... I like the overhead Idea too it is way cool to have them up high...

i love the display on the glass on the c5 vettes i know what i must do know, i shall have it but for now i have the attitude display mounted on top of the steering column and like this well it covers the (put fuel in your truck before it dies on you) light very well. and i apologize for calling your beast girly im just admiring how clean and pretty and well kept your beast really is:lmao:

As you can see I tossed it right back... Actually mine get rather dusty really quick on the dash from all the dirt roads and firewood hauling... Just to make you feel better next time my truck is dirty I get you a pic of it...

He took that pic at the dealership and cropped in the goodies. If he took a pic of it now it would be trashed. Steering wheel is all cut up, gauges are smashed, shifter is bent, dash is cracked, radio is stolen, ashtry is filled with cigars, carpet is torn up and there is a rust spot in the floor where he watches the road, windows are now manual roll up with vise grips, cruise control is a brick, headlights are a standard house switch, overhead is a 100w house fixture light, there are extension cords running from his inverter to the brake lights which he has to manually run, the mirrors are smashed...other than that, its pretty girly

I don't have guages on my stock truck yet. I don't do well with GPS & other things at heights other than instrument cluster altitude. (My GPS is now on a bent aluminum bracket that I slip into the airvent.) I also have issues with focal length. Might as well not have them as bringing them where my eyes can't focus. I'd like a colum mount... (I'd have to move the display for my Escort radar detector system). The only other place I like is above the cup holders which I only close when vacuming the rugs (rare)... still further away than I'd like. Russ

Amen to that one! Mine, you could set a football on the dash, and lose it behind the instrument cluster, as it would fall through the gaping hole from the dash self-destructing.. :banghead:

Does anyone make a dash top mount for the 2nd gen? I have 3 there and really like the location.
